i have a 2001 is 300 , and i'm thinking about turbo charing it but if i do so, what other mods must i make to accomadate the turbo..?? new cams..?? exhaust..?? spark plugs..?? headers..??
being you have a 2001, they only made those in Automatic so if your looking for more than 350WHP you need to upgrade your tranny. either do a w58 swap or if your looking to make serious power then V160 6speed. The internals are another concern. They are weaker compared to the Supra's Internals (specifically Pistons and Rods). Back to your original question... cams, exhaust, downpipe, turbo manifold, throttle body, intercooler, boost controller, the list goes on and on, it depends what U want.
Your thoughts on trans are wrong the auto is much much stronger than a 5 speed in this case from the factory. Throw a valve body mod and a cooler on and call it a day up close to 500whp. Rest sounds good
idk why, but I was thinking about the R154 when I posted that, my bad. Anyways, someone on MY(dot)IS sold there Turbo IS, he had an auto with VB,2nd sprang, and tranny cooler upgrades and he laid down 600WHP. impressive.
clutch, fuel injectors, fuel pump, standalone or piggyback ecu, turbo timers, guages the list goes on and on....to turbocharge a n/a car your looking at alot more than just the turbo kit price....it would probably be cheaper to throw an already boosted 2JZ in it to be honest
how mutc power can i get if i modd on cam gears, down pipes, headers catback 4inch hks dragger, pulleys hks filter how mutc do you think?toyota supra non turbo mkiv
I believe the internals are identical as far as material and structure..Jus the GTE Model has Lower CR and Oil Squirtiers for the block to keep engine cool lubricated at high RPM
Do you know how much lower? Im curious myself, and I def plan on turboing one of these. Depending on how much HP anyone is going for it might actually be an advantage over lower CR although some swear by a lower CR for boost.
The IS300 CR Is 10 over 1 and the Supra CR is 8 over 1 i belive. If your gonna run high boost on high Cr ur gonna need race fuel to deal with those type compression levels. But if ur gonna use pump gas its safer to use Low CR pistons.
what kind of rims are those?

unless you run low boost you would have to rebuild your whole bottom end just make everything super buff
