I recently saw some pieces on shows like CNN and the journal with Joan Lunden on PBS that were talking about issues and solutions for industrial recycling. This is an interesting twist that could really become a game changer in the future. Whoever gets in at the beginning of the urban mining will possibly be a part of a new gold rush of sorts. I hope we start implementing such programs early on to reduce our dependence.
Do you really have to have it assayed? I mean, if you're selling it to a refiner, aren't they going to assay it themselves anyways, just to make sure what they're buying.
@TheNewMusicNetwork omg what a jerk...u motherfucker white usa nazi boys...dont come 2 germany ..cause i will break ur bones in tiny pieces.. btw im white...
Cats have a high flame melting point. Gold is 1200 degrees while a cat maybe 3000 degrees at melting point. Cost of propane for torches will not be economical. ;P
Why are you melting silver ware? Silver ware is worth more than the silver itself. I have a silver ware set (forks, knifes, spoons) that is worth over 5k's, to a collector.
I'm not retail. I don't hold and sell jewelry either which i could sell to a collector for much for. Inventory = security, storage, overhead = lower gold payouts = less customers. I keep what I can and melt the rest so I can buy more. It is making my income as well as investments. Believe me, I would love to keep everything and melt nothing till 5 years.
wow. that's some cools stuff. didn't even know what your doing was possible. 5 stars bro. i'm going to check out your other vid's...check mine out too when you have a chance.
Refineries purify it and sell it for bullion bars or workable .999 bb's. 9-18k are mixed with either silver, copper, palladium, nickel, zinc etc. Assaying all of it is not profitable.
The purifying process is very expensive and time comsuming and they usually do it only in bulk. That's their profit margins.
Good stuff. How do you determine what gold to include to melt down? The one in the vid, is it all 24 kt? Or a mixture? Also how do you calculate how much you pay for items....like a 24 kt gold chain Vs. 14 kt gold chain? how do you value the difference?

@boochieboy814
You wanna do your own assaying, unless you rather take the word of the end buyer. 1-2% can mean alot of difference.

yO, how come you say the bar is 550grams of 61% pure?
What is the rest of the content, copper ect?
Why didn't you opt for just getting it 100% pure?
What do you do with the bars that are not 100% pure exactly?
