  • You know today they still make asbestos in break pads, that is why when ever you see a white car, van or truck, look closely like on the back where the license plate is. Those little brown spots are NOT rust! That is the effect from asbestos!

  • ...and remember: Asbestos is all natural, mined from the good earth, so it's good for you too.

  • Asbestos would be perfect if it were harmless when inhaled.

  • I want colorful asbestos siding, Screw the health effects.

at 1:25 they show a metal roof (something that actually lasts) being replaced and "beautifying" said house. No.

The roof is the last place to have a product that will slowly break apart in air-borne and water soluable particles due to rain, wind, and sun. Yuck. And their products didn't look good. Even today you can find asbestos sided houses, but often the panels are chipped or broken. Where did the pieces end up?

  • @StMeade In the air. Realize, this is in brake pads and well... if you are ever on a highway or a road you are breathing in asbestos. They still haven't banned this shit because there's too much $ behind it.

  • its so ironic what they say:

How does it contribute to better living?

How does it enhance our lives?

Even old houses can have the same benifits

AND...Little Johnny is going to die

  • @79guitarherofreak

Asbestos is fireproof, does not conduct electricity, great insulation properties, cheap and easy to produce. Now if you do not see how that would contribute to better living or enhancing peoples lives I`m sorry. Unfortunately that was before the average American knew of the dangers.

Little Johnny wouldn`t die as long as the asbestos was not crushed. Its the dust that kills you. Besides Johnny has a better chance of getting hit by a car then developing meso.

  • Thank god we now use plastic, Silicone and Carbon fiber.

  • @sincityfire

Too bad that has harmful effects aswell. Look it up.

  • stupid 1950's

  • 1980's are better

  • Asbestos cement pipe.....wtf?

So people drank asbestos in their water...?

    Thats healthy.

  • Much of our water system still consist of asbestos cement pipe.

  • what is asbestos a disease a bug idk what it is

  • Drinking asbestos isn't harmful. It's only harmful when breathed in.

  • @mfbfreak

"Most epidemiological studies that tested the incidence of cancer in areas where the drinking water contained high levels of asbestos, found increases in cancer rates and/or deaths. Most of the cancers formed in the gastrointestinal tract (which includes but isn't limited to the colon and rectum)."

Trust me, it's harmful once it's in your body. One way in - no way out.

  • Thanks. I didn't know that.

  • @mfbfreak stop spreading lies. two major studies in Norway concluded that no health effects was found after 20 years but after 20 years their was a huge bom of stomach and bowl cancers. again; stop spreading lies.

  • @peter17dude

Peter, don't call me a liar. There is a difference between lying and unawarely giving wrong information.

I already thanked Sockington for telling me that there is a connection between asbestos in drinking water and increased cancer rates. I didn't know that at the time i wrote my comment.

  • @polakmax Asbestos dissolved in water actually isn't really very dangerous.
