hey, another question, i have a 1980 XS850 that i bought that now has just over 6000 miles on it. i have had trouble with it all summer. around town runs great. down the highway after about 5 miles the left cylinder cuts out. i have had the carbs worked on, voltage regulators. and alot of time at the shop were nothing was really fixed. any ideas?
how much did it cost you to get it to that point..........i have about 5 XS 850/750s sitting in the shed as parts and now I'm starting to think that its not such a bad project bike.

My old chum Geordie had one just like this, hump seat and all.
A great old hack although i can remember him replacing the shell bearings on a regular basis!!!

What kind of muffler are you running on that 3-1?

It's a 3-2 actually and the 'mufflers' are industrial SS filters for turbines...

ok, all i want to know is, where can i get a seat like that???
hondacm400t 3 years ago
It's all homemade my friend: I used an old XS750 tank, cut it in half and made the seating myself.
This way, both the lines are intakt (the cowl and the tank are both XS tanks), and I have some storagespace inside the cowl.
Cheers
