I have watched this several times. Nice video. Young aspiring 1st officer making me jealous lol. I went solo in Cessna172 at almost age 60 but not gone much further since due to other financial commitments.
Not Sure wich lever your looking at, but the The Flaps are to the Right of the Throttle's the lever on the Panel in front of the Cojo is the Gear handle
"Go arounds" are used for emergencies. whether you have to get back in the air after landing, or aborting a final approach. It doesn't matter if wheels are on the ground or not...a "touch and go" is a technique pilots use to practice landings without burning the extra fuel and time on taxing. However, I have never witnessed a large jet doing a touch and go just for fun. I guess they could, but it would cost a fortune.
In the military, I've seen all kinds of big jets doing touch and goes. But I have never witnessed a civilian jet doing them. I've shared the traffic pattern a few times with a DC9, flying my rented C172. Fun stuff!
A touch and go is when an aircraft is on app to a runway. when the aircraft touches down on the runway, instead of slowing in speed with thrust reversers, and spiloers etc, it just simply adds power to the engines again and lifts off the ground. Thats y they call it a touch and go. usually c it in VFR conditions
no, a go around is when your approaching the runway, and if your off course, too fast, or cant see the runway within 200ft you apply full throttle and then go back up. In a Touch and go, you touch down onto the ground first, and then apply full throttle to lift back up, touch and goes are used to test the aircraft or for training.
well its not necessarily the same as a go-around. In go-arounds, pilots usually try to avoid doing those cuz it adds more time to the flight, takes up fuel, and more than likely upsets or disgruntles passengers. In Touch and go's, they are intentional. So touch and gos are intentional and for fun, for go-arounds, pilots trry to avoid it
Well, i coudnt honestly say if Commercial aircraft use touch and go's, i mean obviously they do but im not familiar with that that much. I would imgine they do it more in the simulators but i couldnt honestly say
Touch and go's a trainning manouvre, you land and instead of stopping the aircraft you take-off again (touch... and... go!!!).
The go-around is a missed app, or a failed landind, whatever suits you and commercial airlines don't do that unless they are making a check on a new pilot or they provide type-ratings inside the airline itself.
thats not true, here in mexico, aviacsa,s 737 200 are limited for flap 1 setting alwaysss, because of the high altittudes in mmmx, even 0 asl, is 1, never 5, but could be..never 15.
Are an aircrafts wing lights adjustable, because I was just on a flight at night, and the lights on the tips of the wings at the last min. turned to the plane. Through the flight they were pointed out/back and at the end they turned in to the plane. Does this mean that they can adjust them?
Was it a DC-9 variant? And were you sitting near the front? The landing lights on the DC-9/MD-80/B717 series are located near the wingtip and retract back into the underside of the wing when not in use. When they were extended and turned on it could give the appearance that they were turning towards the aircraft.
he is..but the throttles are guarded by the captain due to a worldwide policy that makes the captain the sole responsible for a rejected takeoff decision and execution of the maneuver. I personally disagree with that except during the first few hours of a copilot for various reasons, but that´s mostly because of insurance.
touch and go?
