@Countryboy2266 i use it for my metal band, can get a really growly tone, throw on some mid gauge strings and down tune it. its a good bass to upgrade the pickups and bridge tho. amazing for only 300 bucks
Nice bass... I am gonna buy it in next days. Actually I have an Ibanez SR506 that I see is behind the player on this video (it's the bass he touch to tune the one he plays) :-)
any tips on how you get that kind of string-to-string mobility? i mean, youre all over the place! how do you just randomly go crazy all over the fretboard and still make it sound good?
ok so im looking for a bass for about 300 dollars that has good sound. ive been looking at the four string version of this bass but there are no videos for it. ive gone from wanting an epiphone thunderbird to an eb-3 and this seems obviously better. also should i pay the extra 30 for the five string. opinions?
@hman3669 I'm sure it would work fine, and if you do use it for that, I recommend making the bass stick out more. When you've got clean cut tone and sound from companies like Fender and Rickenbacker, the tones cut through VERY nicely.
@brooklynstudio JZ3D Preamp & Aguilar AG 5J-60 come to mind. Tube won't let me add a link. Copy & paste in to google. Check out the TalkBass.com Forums for "Fender Active Jazz preamp replacement?"
@hman3669 Hey i dunno if you'll get this or what but i play this bass in my church band and it has served me well for nearly a year and it is a great bass.
Squiers really emulate their Fender counterparts very well for the price, and sometimes the small difference in tone is even quite nice. When Ed Friedland compared the Fender Jazz and it's Squier Classic Vibe counterpart, I preferred the Squier! I suppose the main thing, because of lower grade materials, is longevity, but even then I'd bet a Squier can last a lifetime with care.
I bought this bass at the Guitar Center for $262 (on sale b4 tax). I wasn't planning to buy a bass that day, but it sounded so good that I had to have it!
Yes like the fretless jaco model. The classic vib Squier models are played with the Fender side by side,in my favs. I think it is a great 5-string for the price and plays smooth.
is this bass good for metal because my grandma got me one for chrismas normally i wont play a fender

@sasukeuchihalb
Try looking up Ed Friedland, also known as "The Bass Whisperer".
He compares a couple vintage Fender basses with Squier reissues,

Squier do better basses than guitars.

on 5 strings the strings are closer than on 4 strings
Smoothbassline 2 years ago
I really need a bass and i was thinking of getting a 5 string
what i usually play on is my friends Fender Squier "P-Bass"
I love it, the string thickness and the distance between the strings and the board are perfect.
Is it the same in the squier jazz basses?
...coz they dont make 5 string p basses
sexynojutsu123 2 years ago
no the p basses have thicker necks. but a 5 string isnt that important. i wouild buy a p bass if you like it.
whitewashedplayer31 2 years ago 2
yes they do... just google fender precision 5 and see.

Has anyone else noticed that the black-finish version sounds a little different than the sunburst? Do they use different wood?
paapakobe 2 years ago 2
Would that be a good bass for indie/alternative rock?
poormanstreasure 2 years ago
fingerstyle or pick style? Jazz is better for finger and the P bass is the classis pick for pick playing.

Are all of these videos filmed in a guitar center? This store in all the vids looks massive like one.

I own this bass, other than the plastic fretboard and some background fizz it's perfect. If you want a cheap 5 string and/or active bass, buy this.
jonsparrow15 2 years ago
it's not this plastic...it's called Ebanol or Ebonol..it's some kind of resin

Just tried this one today. I was pleasantly surprised with it. Made me want to get it, but I all ready decided on the Traben.

What model Traben,bro?
universalrenote 3 years ago
Traben Array 5 string. I love how it sounds. And it has a very nice sound for only $349.99. It would probably be a bargain at any price.
