  • my B'Day is @ 5th of july :P

  • lord have mercy! :)

  • Respond to this video... for 3" plastics how many layers of gummed tape are you using?

  • @oahuguy hi, these didn't use any layers of gummed tape, all the shells in this vid are spiked with 4 "rings" of 1/2" high-tensile-strength fiber strapping tape. No paper gummed tape or paper pasting was used.

  • Great breaks, it was crazy awesome, homemade pyro!!!ftw!!

can you make a tut on youre priming tech?

    cheers ;)

  • You rock!

  • Very nice!

  • BOOM! "ohmygod"

  • Nice shells, just wondering how big the first shell was?

  • @greatkid1 that was a 4" shell, thanks

  • nice shells , i love your breaks.

  • thanks bud. These are all 70/30 FP boosted breaks in this vid. For 3 inch and smaller, 70/30 flash works great. I think whistle mix seems to work better though on 4 inch+ size shells. They can be made to break really big with whistle mix, and whistle seems to make a more uniform sphere shape of a break on the bigger shells. Some people use a slower nitrate or "dirty" flash.

  • you mean 4 inch AND up, or higher than 4 inch?

  • btw what's the streamer composition at 0:40? it's beatiful!

  • I believe that is Chysanthemum 8 with 15% Titanium sponge added, either that or Willow Diadem, which is a willow comp with Ti and FeTi added. Its really beautiful in person. You can add Ti to most any slower charcoal streamer comp to get that effect.

  • @Swervedriver71 how many grams of fp boost for 3 & under? how many grams of whistle for the bigger shells ? & incase you haven't heard this a million times NICE F'n JOB MAN

  • Hey thanks man. For 3" plastic, 1.75g of standard 70/30 works good. For 4" I'd say 5 grams of whistle is a good starting point.

  • excellent shells! great show!

  • well done

  • damn,HOMEMADE TOO"S!

    YA bOOMS R BEAStS!

  • I saw this vid once, and i see it again and again, its a great show, lots of good work and fantastic breaks and stars, i bow in the dust ;D 5* Swerve

  • nice shells i love 3''4'' 5'' anything bigger is to much lol i just stay with the 3'' ....the ti salute is crazy shit anyways how do you make them i have made 1/4 sticks and such i just cant figure out the mixture on some 3'' it just blows to shit when it gets up high lol ......

  • LOL! OMG Pete, those are so loud!

    Definitely awesome handmade shells!

  • Bloody brilliant. I spotted a shell to the left at about 1:29 to 1:33 which failed to break. Apart from that this is awesome!

  • wow mate

  • Man ... I put on a hell of a show for the 4th with only 6 home made shells, 150 consumer, and 5 cakes and I thought it was good. This just puts mine to shame ;). Very good job, very nice shells! Did you use paper or plastic Hemis? Also what method of pasting did you use?

  • Swervedriver71,

I must say GREAT work on the shells, those breaks were spectacular. I love how high they went, did you use the normal 75:15:10 ratio's for your lift? Anyways once again excellent shells! Keep up the great work! +5

  • Thanks for the compliment! Yes, that was standard 75/15/10 ratio for the lift BP. I actually used standard untreated 2"x4" "whitewood" lumber from home depot for the charcoal. It worked OK for me, I'll use willow or alder next time though.

  • those are the biggest and most consistent breaks i have ever seen in 3 and 4 inch home made shells. so spherical and big for the diy pyro. i wish i could give this 100 stars!

  • 5 ztars man good job (=

  • great show man!!! looked like a blast :)

  • Good show!!

    5*

  • whoa! that was absolutly superb, i like the first shell the best it has a big bang and then a massive break :D what size shell was it? 5* with no doubt!

  • Sweet show!

The flame envelopes of the stars seems really small though. Was it just the camera?

  • Thanks man. Yes, the camera doesn't work well at all. The mines were about 50 feet away, so they look a little better. The shells were much more colorful and brighter than in this video, not white and dim as they seem to be. For example, the first shell in the video looks white, but actually it was the same green star composition as the green stars in one of the mines seen closer in the video.

  • how large those shells are?

  • perfect!

  • Awesome! (love the banter too) as I watch I wonder how long it took to make (I'm still exhausted from all the work I did on my little star mines)

  • Awesome epicness that shames the best that I have ever produced, in the way Everest shames the bunny hill at my local ski slope.

  • Just wonderful.

    Great work! 5*

  • Awesome...congratulations!

  • Now thats a proper display man, great work!! 5* and then some ;)

  • Looks like the preparations payed dividends... f**kin' superb show mate... 5*+

  • Nice, no fireworks for me cuz i live in sweden it isnt legal to shoot fireworks on 4th of july, but yea ;P

  • Excellent! Great shells and mines. 5*
