So CBS did indeed had The Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal (at least it's original host, Monty Hall anyway) together before 20 years before it's current line-up. How about that? Even the future nighttime TPIR was there too!
Interesting to hear Danny Dark doing the voiceover on this promo. I knew of his stint with NBC and his cartoon voiceovers, never knew he worked for CBS.
In Detroit in 1979 WJBK did not have the all-new Beat the Clock and it carried Whew! and Price is Right. If in any part of Detroit, If I want to catch Beat the Clock, it would be on WTOL in Toledo.
@Hondo20132 No, it includes 2 clips from the main series, I remember that woman in the clip winning the Villian Gauntlet just in time as time ran out ("TIMMMMMMES UP!!!!!!!!") around August 1979.
The Beat the Clock clips might be from one of the 2 pilots that are on the game show tape/DVD trading circuit.
@Hondo20132 IT looked like it to me as well. BTW Hondo, according to Gameshow Pilot Light their were three pilots for WHEW!!!! One of the pilots featured infamous gameshow contestant Maggie Brown
heine71 just recently posted the promo for the premiere of the show featuring Maggie (on one of the pilots) defeating the Gaunlet of Villans. He just posted it last week. Check it out.
Casey Kasem, who voiced Shaggy in the "Scooby-Doo" cartoon series and was the original host of "America's Top 40 Countdown", was the voice on NBC during the late 70s and early-to-mid 80s.
Thank Goodness I saw this. For many years I thought that Whew! was a dream I had and not real.

Was this taken from a Fall 1979 original CBS broadcast of The Price is Right with original commercials intact?

I had no idea the clock had a red hand in it's early episodes of BtC '79.

@MegastarLV I thought the clip was from the pilot...

@gshowguy Oh that's right, I forgot about the pilot. Yes, now I rerember seeing the red-handed clock on the pilot.

@nicka727 If you lived in either of those places preempted game shows were the least of your problems.

I just got WFMY/WTVD flashbacks looking at those promos!

Note the Whew portion of the promo looks different than the actual series.
Piece of the pilot, maybe?

For the record: The clip from that circa August 1979 WHEW! episode I remember seeing with that close Gauntlet win happens around the 0:12 mark
heine71 2 years ago
because the villians look noticeably different at the clip shown at 0:12.
The timer there is different also.
I'm guessing the clip there is from the pilot, but the other 2 clips are from the actual series.

Very odd hearing Danny Dark as the voice of CBS when I've always known him as the voice of NBC.

Wasn't he also the voice of Superman on the Superfriends (on ABC)?

That is correct!
