youtube converters convert to around 128kbps... which sounds alright coming out of headphones, small speakers and the likes, but if you try and play them out of big sound systems they will sound shite.

M0ntebell0's right, youtube encodes it's audio at like 96kbps, for decent sound quality you want 320kbps or FLAC/WAV (lossless), open up your converted files in Audacity, put it in spectrum view, and if it cuts before 22KHz then it's poor quality.

no man that was a generalization of all youtube converters if you knew anything at all about sound quality you would know that the bigger the file the higher quality its going to be a youtube converter compresses the sound down to somewhere between 2 and 5 mb's.which is awful because if you try to play that on a decent system its going to be distorted. If what you seem to think about sound quality was true record labels would never allow youtube converters to exist.
