I just want to say that I love Jesus. I know that I as a human am not perfect but Jesus makes me perfect in his love. I say this to the Rational Response Squad, the one who posted this video, and anyone else. Jesus Christ died for our sins. He died because he loves us. Jesus himself alternates between loving saviour and selfish prick. We all know his 'good works' and space is short, so I'll just point you to Mark 11:13-20 and Matthew 21:19. In those two passages, Jesus is hungry, and wants some figs, which are out of season. So he curses a fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season. Just one example. Saviour or Schizo?

I would like to know why you all make fun of the lord Jesus do you know that you are going to anser to him for this and if there is no God you tell me how we all got here where the stars come from & the moon and all of the animals .just go out side and look around and listen to nature and tell me how it got here. it all came from God. Example: A kid is arrested for selling drugs and goes to jail for a year. While in jail he is broken, remorseful and asked Christ into his life. His family is happy. When he gets out, he goes back to selling and using drugs. The conversion was not real..."there is no fruit".

The verse is basically referring to Christians. If someone "claims" to be a Christians and you see no fruit (spiritual growth, a change at home, giving up the things of the world) then that person is not a true Christian.

Ah, well that does make more sense, then. However, it still allows for an 'easy out'. If a person's life isn't magically transformed by following Christ (which most people's aren't), then you have the easy explanation that those people aren't justification that most Christians 'aren't real Christians' rather than the more solid explanation that things like drug treatment, mental health services and counseling are usually also necessary.

RE: Matt. 7:16-17 The insinuation here is that any deed done by Christians, no matter how bad, is better than any deed done by non-Christians, no matter how good, because 'a good tree can't produce evil fruit and a corrupt tree cannot produce good fruit', i.e. a Christian's evil deeds are better than an athiest's good deeds. You don't see the flaw in that belief?

You are talking about people who become "religious". I'm talking about people who have a "personal relationship" with Jesus Christ. So much so, that there old lives are transformed. 2 Corinthians 5:17. I am not a social worker but there are about 5 in my church. Now multiply 5 x every church in America.

Oh no... all of them firmly believe they have a 'relationship with Christ'... It's a very easy out, though, saying, "Well, the people who aren't transformed don't really have a relationship with Christ." You can explain away any failure that way.

I can explain it the same way I can explain the millions of people who turn to Buddhism, Judaism, Wicca, the Muslim faith and crystal healing; when people feel powerless to control their own lives, they often turn to higher powers...

And having done Social Work, I can say with first-hand experience that most of the prostitutes, drug dealers, gang-bangers and thieves who turn to Christ are STILL prostitutes, drug dealers, gang-bangers and thieves... It doesn't change their lifestyle in any way, it merely enables them to absolve themselves. But being a Christian, you probably don't associate closely with those sorts of people, I'm sure, so you'd only meet the 5% who managed to be the exception.
