MegaJim, Lime Suphur if for use only as a "dormant spray" in winter when there is no foilage on the vines. It is very "harsh", which is why it is used in winter, because my understanding is that it can actually eradicate mildew spores. Wettable sulphur is used when the vines have green leaves. This year, we're using organic JMS Stylet oil to combat an active infestation. This seems to be working well. The dilution, according to the label, is 1% to 2%, so, for a gallon, about 1.2 - 2.4 oz per gallon. See the latest video on "Spot Spraying In The Vineyard" to see how we used the stylet oil.

Is LIME SULPHUR more effective than wettable sulphur. I need a good downy mildew prevention....don't want to use harsh stuff. Can anyone help?
