It simply pulses between the two. It's actually quite easy to hear if you slow it down.

Yes, it does stutter at points. It's because there's not enough CPU time free, and it componsates and skips back again when some becomes free. Very annoying, though. The first reason's because it's running on a server computer (so there's a bit going on in the background). Secondly, my programming was a bit crap. Now I've improved it a little when there are simultaneous notes, in the revision I'm working on now (revision 130 - I'll probably release it today or tomorrow). ;)
