  • A few polite corrections if you watch this vid:

    The annunciation of the name of Dahlonega is (DA-LAWN-UH-GUH) not (Dal-a-nega as rhyming with the well-known speedway Talledega)...... and the name of Dahlonega does not mean yellow money.... it means "precious yellow metal".

    Also, Dahlonega is not the original Cherokee name--- it was pronounced Tahlonega, with a "T", not a "D", which Wilson Lumpkin changed the name to shortly after the TRAIL of Tears.
