  • Thank U again! Rush live when I was only 20 years old, early 1990! YYZ>>...::::....!

  • Of course they don't have egos, they're Canadian! LOL

  • love this tune...well done ..lead singer does it all..talented

  • Rush y so synth in 80's It was a great backing instrument in their late 70's and early 80's stuff, not taking the lead role of the song and just setting song tones. I'd much rather see Geddy play bass than keys

  • This was slightly dissapointing. Not the best rendition of the song. Too much high end on the drums, too much scooping on the guitars and overall not very good.

  • Opinions all provided

    The future pre-decided

    Detached and subdivided

    In the mass production zone

Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone!!!

    Best lyrics evar!

  • I miss the pre-Freddy Gruber-instructed Neil.

  • @larkydozer I second that!

  • Put Rush in Rock n Roll hall of fame!!!

  • One of Rush's best albums. Perfect at low volume with headphones staring into the cosmos.

  • Ahh, the synthes are so epically dreamy!

  • Wow they were at their highest point here! I mean, listen to how perfect every instrument sounds!

  • All their instruments sound so good here...the dreamy synths, crisp drums, punchy bass...

  • I don't know how many will agree with me, but quite often the studio version of a song is, unfortunately, better than the live version. However, this is one GREAT live performance!! Get,em guys!!

  • only Geddy can play keyboard, bass and sing at the same time

  • Geddy lee normally does amazing live but hes not to great here, maybe he had a cold or something

  • How is it that RUSH isn't in the Rock 'n' Roll HOF? Did Geddy piss off the accountant there?

  • Great sound here!! My fave Rush song!!

  • Mars volta should cover this, it could just turn out to be pretty awesome.

  • @throwindembows well it already is

  • Man,the tempo on this performance is hella fast.

  • man I always loved that awesome loud, deep, vocal part where it says "Subdivisions"! It's so awesome!

  • BEST SONG EVER

  • seeing these guys in 5 days at the White River amphetheatre in Auburn WA. will be epic!

  • If I was at this concert I'd piss myself/ ejaculate at the same time non stop

  • not great picture but great sound!

  • Saw this tour! Great time with buddies smokin it up at Baltimore Civic Center!

  • both solos in this song give me straight chills

  • It's too bad they didn't play this song for a while and we don't have good video of it from the more recent tours.

  • im seein them @ summerfest this summer, im turning twelve the next day and it's my second rush concert

  • all they care about is there fans and music! wonderful spirit and wonderful music! 42 years and still going strong

  • i would like to see neil peart play the drums again without a stupid hat.

  • @TheFishpiss from what I understand it is for the purpose of catching the sweat before it gets into his eyes or causes his hands to become slippery. I know I could sure use something when I play.

  • good song. im seeing them in august at shoreline too. i heard their going to play the whole moving pictures album. their going to put on a great show.

  • seeing them here in august! cant wait!

  • Please...just enjoy the music :)

  • marcip... guy.... U obviously don't know a fucking thing about this band...... ur right that neither one of the three members of this band has an ego,, but obviously they don't just care about pleasing their fans... Have u ever seen a Rush interview with Alex, Geddy, and Neil .. individually and/or together...??? u obviously havent..... u should learn something moral about this or any other band b4 u post a dumbass crude, and disrespectful comment on the internet u chuch.. Italian 4idiot...

  • @87nickyboy If you read his comment carefully he said "They don't care about anything BUT pleasing their fans"

  • Its strange how unique these guys are. They don't care about anything but pleasing their fans and writing music together. There is literally no egos in this band. That is how you last for 34 years (Lee and Lifeson longer). They split everything 3 ways. No royalty crap. I can't say that I have been pleased with them the last 15 years, but they have such a diverse audience that they can't please everyone. Still my number one band. Rumor is they are working on a new album. Any one know about this?

  • Neil confirmed about a month ago that they are in the studio and writing/recording. That's about all we know though.

  • @RollTheFemers i heard neil was like really sick

  • @RollTheFemers yeah sorry i was mistaken carivan i just a sond in clock angels thanks anyway

  • @Markcip1 ya i think their new album is gona be called carivan

  • @JCACFILMS They their new album is going to be called "Clockwork Angels".

  • @Markcip1

I beg to differ but, they do look out for their fans, there are massive egos at play here. They've just been at it for so long you do not notice it :)

  • I want this video

  • I can relate 2 this song so much,

    its lyrics..

  • Same here especially the music video. That video came out almost 30 years ago but still means the same in 2010. I grew up in a suburb of LA then a suburb of NYC and seeing the millions of people everyday makes you feel so small and worthless.

  • @OdysseyIntoOblivion

haha yea, man I so agree with u

    and I'm glad somebody understands

    and appreciates true quality music

    I like that.

and yea.. 2010 now, and nothing has changed. its still the same man,

    and u rock!!!

  • Peart's drumming is so precise he is like a neurosurgeon with drumsticks....

  • Geddy has one hell of a guitar strap at 4:17

  • alex looks cool

  • Wow, that is the first time I've even heard Lifeson's vocals at all. Weird.

  • is neil playing his candy apple red tama set?? Kind of hard to tell with the lighting.

  • No, this is a Ludwig set, I believe. The same one he had on Hold Your Fire / Show of Hands, but repainted from pink to purple.

  • 1.Why do you think Geddy never went in public without sunglasses after this point?

    2. Alex's hair! Like a Tolkien character!

  • I think they are prescription. There are some clips of him wearing regular glasses in the studio. If he wore hard contacts doing shows in the 70-80's, the stage lights might have made his eyes a bit light sensitive. I knew a singer from the local scene here who developed that problem.

  • its cus hes always tripping mANNN

  • this was my first rush song ever good memories

  • gooooooooooooooood music!

  • I saw the opening act of this tour in Greenville, SC where the Furman Paladins played basketball. Yep - it was in a big gymnasium! It was phenomenal to see them in such a small venue. They ROCKED!! Nothing like opening night, too!

  • OMG!!!! :O Thats the first time I saw Alex accualy do live harmony!!! :) AND IT'S GREAT!!!

  • this is the same place i saw rush for the first time!

oh how i wish i was at this show!

  • FABIO LIFESON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaahhhh, what locks of that hair would be worth today on ebay...LOL!!!

  • i like this concert better than rio.. what ruined rio was the over excited crowd..

  • i used to listen to this song every day when i was little!! still love rush!!

  • did they play manhattan project on this night?

  • I was there!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I fucking wish I was!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where can i get this bootleg from?

  • this is a song that you can listen a thousand times and always be pleased to do it

  • Completely agree. It was my first Rush song ever :)

  • dude where do you get all these videos?

    i love em all!

  • i like their sound better on this tour than hold your fire

    its more stripped down

i remember them talking about that i think

they got back to guitar in the forefront & less production

i even like the keys sound better on this tour- they seem to have more personality

  • i love this song

and rush...they are one of the greatest bands ever

  • Who here thinks Alex has a pretty good voice?

  • I agree with you. It's too bad that he always uses an effects box on his voice now.

  • Agreed.

  • alex has an awsome voice, you can hear him sing solo in show dont tell (live)

  • @herrocker666 pretty sick hair too:)

  • his toms are rather high tuned

  • yes, indeed. i think it sounds great

  • Is that really Alex's voice, or is it a MIDI-triggered sample?

  • sample for sure.

  • No, it actually is his voice, he triggers a voice distorter and then says "subdivisions".

  • I'm not sure if it's his actual voice when they do it now though. Listen to R30 or Snakes And Arrows live and that part sounds exactly like it does on Signals.

  • These dudes fucking jam! I've seen them twice and they're the most mesmerizing guys to watch live especially if you're into playing instruments yourself. They're very humbling to watch, even for seasoned pro's like people I know lol.

  • Thanks for putting this version back up! It was always my favorite, and I was hoping it would be re-uploaded =]

  • Tempos were changed regularly because the band only had a certain amount of time that they were allowed to play before they had to finish up so the venue workers could get off without having to be paid overtime, so everything was adjusted to fit perfectly. They've talked about this interviews.

  • could be the fastest version I've ever heard, and I liked it, a lot.

  • actually if you listen the version on a show of hands..i believe it is faster

  • Yeah,i'm the first to view it. There are a lot of sleeping videos of Rush in the world. Thanx.
