Sorry, that is a pretty vauge statement.

I would say that having 8" of travel to do a jump like that is a hell of a lot safer. If you over clear it a bit, then you have the travel to fall back on. But if he had landed it properly, then the gradient of the transition would have been enough to allow him to do it on a DJ bike. A riders smoothness can only account for so much. You could never get through fort bill on a fully rigid any were near as fast as you gould on an 8" downhill rig.
