  • Mr.Norris sir, your car is waiting for you in the pond..

  • Dear Santa...

  • WOW I WANT ONE !!

  • @TheSlugstoppa A company in Florida builds these. They are ground effect craft, they also fly over land the same way. They cost like 30k. Enjoy

  • totally looks like a small hovercraft that someone put wings on, to me. Cool.

  • its an ekranoplan!

  • Comment removed

  • The Queen Charlotte Sound Monster.

  • wow ,i was sitting in my 27,000 square foot summer home in the hamptons and seen one of these also!! weird........

  • Looks exactly like this hovercraft that goes airborne at approx. 70kmph. Look up "homemade flying hovercraft" byNew Zealander Rudy Heeman on Youtube. Pretty amazing stuff!

  • thats one way of flying with no flaps n shit lol

  • Cool flying contraption, most definitely. Don't let the trolls get you down!

  • Dumb ass video

  • Wow, where can I get one of those? Its looks cool and fun!

  • Lucky to have a yacht

  • can it be a car too if so im getting one of these

  • Ekranoplan

  • Is*

  • This us neither a water-boat nor an ecranoplan. It IS a hybrid hovercraft and I can state that with an adequate amount of certainty as: A. I'm very familiar with the generic structure of such craft, B. because one can clearly see the skirt ( large black inflated section underneath and C. an ecranoplan requires propulsion mounted in front of the wing ( usually props or for large craft jets ) which the craft lacks for we can observe the large ducted-fan assembly located centrally at the rear if t

  • Just a Ground Effect boat no biggie.

  • Can we please stop calling things that fly, "flying machines" please?

  • i would want this instead of a yacht:)

  • It is is actuyally called an ecranoplan. A hydroplan is a plane capable of takeoff and landing on water. Ecranoplan never gets too high as it needs the the air cushion underneath it's midget wings. Russians built incredible war machine. Imagine a cruiser traveling at 300 mph. The consumtion of these war beasts was too high even for the Russians to feed

  • Its called a Hydroplane, first innovated by russia

  • This is the hoverwing, by USP hovercraft. It is simply a pair of boxy wings attached to a hovercraft. So, you are all right, and all wrong.

  • This is a WIG (Wing in Ground) . I know because I captain one.

  • how do i hovercraft?

  • It's an Ekranoplane, there is loads of them on you tube

  • The daily commute...

  • Ground effect for the win!

  • thats a hovercraft with wings

  • A hovercraft (or what appears to be) that can fly... f*ckyeah, jpg

  • That is one way to speed through a "no wake" zone.

  • Kind of like Howard Hughes spruce goose...can't get very far off the ground.

  • If you look at the link to the Hovercraft it definitely looks similar. But in all the HC references I can find there is a fan in the front blowing down to generate the air cushion. In this video you can see that the pilot is sitting in the position where that fan would be. I'm pretty sure that fan has to be in that position for aerodynamic reasons. Also this appears to have a boat hull not a rubber skirt. I believe it's a ground effect vehicle.

  • Now that's cool. Better than a hovercraft.

  • /watch?v=TYFEFekPzDM&feature=related

  • I have ketchup and mustard on my sandwhich, K?

  • he's big pimpin'

  • WOW a also a real beauty,I thought it was run on magnetic energy but I was wrong, and I found MD-160,OMG,a real beauty by her on right, keep up the good work nixontankgirl loved it

  • The Soviets built a massive one of these. Can not see much use for it. Unless your smuggling coke between Cuba and Florida.

  • hovercraft(.)com Its a hoverwing craft....

  • wow

  • Thats an ekranoplan. :)

  • Ecranoplane = we can call it "screenplane" - it uses ground effect (see Caspian Monster)

  • @nixontankgirl actually it is a hovercraft with fins witch allows it to lift off from water or land depending on how fast it's going but it can only go a few metres off the ground and water but it is a nice vehicle to have.

  • @nixontankgirl I agree with you but I would like to point out that this is a ground effect hovercraft.

  • @nixontankgirl It is a hovercraft lol either they bought a wing kit for it or it was bought like that. very expensive maybe 30k minimum but know what your filming before you say what it is. K?

  • @HackLover007 It is not a hovercraft. Know what you are watching before you say what it is. K?

  • @nixontankgirl It is a hovercraft that fan in the back propels and provides that black skirt air, definition of a hovercraft is: A vehicle or craft that travels over land or water on a cushion of air provided by a downward blast. now they have hovercraft's with wings one model is called UH-19XRW. or you can simply look at others videos showing their homemade wings for that hovercraft. again Know what your filming. K?

  • @HackLover007 Good Grief. It is not a hovercraft. It is a wing effect vehicle. Know what you are talking about before you make comments. K? Try and Google wing effect vehicle, Pause the video and you will see that it doesn't have a skirt around it. And dont try and patronize me again

  • @nixontankgirl it is counted as a hovercraft with a sub category of hover-wing type it in yes it is also called wing effect vehicle but it is also counted as a hovercraft

  • @joshcroucher they both have the same principals, however they are apples and oranges. Sure they hover, but what makes them different is their capabilities. A hovercraft travels on a cushion of air blasted downwards, and can be flown across land. A hoverwing is for water only.

  • @nixontankgirl ground effect is the term you are searching for :)

  • @nixontankgirl

It's 'ground effect' not wing effect.

  • @HackLover007 A bloody hovercraft flies on a cushion of air that is blasted downwards. You're an idiot, this one has a cushion of air under it's wings from flying forward. Hence the term "Hoverwing" close but not quite.

  • @HackLover007 It's an Ekranoplane, not a hovercraft. Basically it's a plane with wings too short to fly, instead using an air cushion under the wings generated by the ground effect, not a fan pushing air under it. Typical case of "didn't do the research".

  • @HackLover007 It's not a hovercraft, look at the water below the vehicle, definitely no force pushing on the water...

  • @nixontankgirl it is hovercraft with special wing to fly low

  • @nixontankgirl Sorry about the trolls. Remember, Mean People Suck! I think it's a cool vid though, and I know what it is. It's a hybrid ground effect machine/ air cushion vehicle, part hovercraft, part ram-wing. As far as I know, the combining of the two technologies is fairly new. It looks somewhat similar to those marketed and sold by Universal Hovercraft (see hovercraft "dot" com). I want one!

  • hovercraft with wings, seen a guy on tv who built one, same thing,

  • Comment removed

  • @BKX8 Dumbass.

  • Comment removed

  • Its a flying hovercraft, an inventor created this vehicle an wants to sell it for 30grand

  • luv WIGs

  • OMG it's a UFO, look at the yellow men are coming from the project...so hide yo wife, hide yo kids....

  • no hover craft, a ground effect vehicle. gliding like the albatros do.

  • @SuperCrashpilot yes it is just like when you land your jumbo jet throttle off or never toutch the ground, that thing would fall like a stone if it went over a lowheaded dam haha

  • its a hover craft

  • WIG

  • It's a smaller ground effect vehicle. The old Soviets made one that confused the NRO for awhile. They made one that was supposed to carry cargo. Kinda like our hovercrafts but it actually uses the buffer layer of immediate airflow to support itself. It's still very cool though.

  • Look up Caspian Sea Monster to see the large size version of this.

  • I once watched a bird of prey fly down a steep hillside, then flatten out across the lake at the base of the hill- as best as i could see, the bird travelled about 1500 meters across the water without moving its wings once.

Its a soft story, i know, but the ground effect the bird was using, looked super-natural, as it just didnt slow down the entire time.

It looked very efficient to me.

  • These things have a lot going for them. One problem with operating in harbours was either noise or big plumes of spray that the authorities objected to. That they're "half-boat" made me wonder why there wouldn't just be a rule that they had to motor some distance from shore (like "Jet-ski"s) before cranking up. I'm trained in flood rescue & I can see advantages in not having to dodge all the flotsam that finds it's way into flood-waters & impedes rescue teams getting to people. Nice post-Thanks!

  • this is real i have watch it

  • That's Rudy Heeman - world famous in Nelson. He's now working on the next version of this ground effect hovercraft. This one runs a turboed Subaru engine. He's a very clever bloke - all done in his shed at home.

  • @SpotterOz I hate people that leave smart ass, arrogant and patronizing comments on my videos. I dont happen to know any pilots you dipshit. Why dont you fuck off and leave your shit somewhere else.

  • @nixontankgirl LMAO...^5

  • What's so weird about a wig aircraft coupled with a hover craft? Sheesh...

  • Just a simple Hovercraft.

  • @MrAstronomiebahner your did not do your home work...... its a wing in ground effect craft or wig and it cannot hover.....

  • @Unguidedone

I know, I watched a repotrt about it, after I wrote the comment. sorry

  • Ekranoplan FTW, thankyou Russia!

  • @GerbilEssences thank you Germany, they experimented with these in WW2, the Russians just developed it further.

  • wingtip hits water, CARTWHEEL< OHFKAWL

  • AH!!! Those Magnificient Men and Their Flying Machines...

  • how high can it fly?

  • @hydrobot2003 lets find out *takes puff* aaah yes lol

  • @Just2Comment789 -- LOL!! yeah puff on some wacky tobacky and then fly that thing! haha!

  • @hydrobot2003 wacky tobacky? the fuk? that sounds like the best name to anything xD

  • why would you want to fly 3 ft high

  • @gootch420 faster than a boat , under the radar, heat seeking signature is low, no road required, little to no training required. cheap, no reason at all.

  • @gootch420 More efficient than high flying, land on the water etc.

  • pretty dam sweet

  • What the fuck was that lol

  • Just ekranoplan...

  • The Russians have pioneered this type of craft used as cargo transports in order to move cargo across large bodies of water with very little cost. It loads at a dock like a ship, pulls away to a wider expanse, breaks the surface, and simply supports itself on a ground effects cushion of air. Next time you are near a sea coast where pelicans reside, watch how they glide just inches above the water as they hunt for food. In most cases, they don't even flap their wings at all. Low energy out put.

  • if im not mistaken that is the one and only flying hovercraft- search for it on google

  • Well, I'VE SEEN IT ALL NOW.... That is pretty wid.

  • Still using wings......

  • funny that this looks alot like a UFO sighting...

  • LEGIT!

  • Where do I buy one?

  • attk.ru/Rus/sales/sales.htm

  • fucking aliens

  • Это дед Никифор на рыбалку на своём экраноплане поехал. Узнаю пейзаж. Это под Астраханью.

  • its called a hoverwing i believe. they are hovercrafts that have wings and can go around 4-5 feet off the ground

  • W.I.G. Wing In Ground_effect

  • that guy rudy heeman was my neighbor it was so noisy but pretty cool he can get it up to about 3 metres

  • Hoverboards dont work on water McFly!

  • can this vehicle work on land?

  • Ground effect vechicle...Nice

  • nice invention :)

  • woooooooow

  • it's an ekranoplane.

  • i would have shot at it in fear

  • ground effect hovercraft

  • ekranoplan

  • I agree with you BJP, it's a ground effect flying machine. When the craft moves forward it creates low pressure above and high pressure below the wing. (i.e lift) And the high pressure between the lower surface of the wing and the groung (or water) acts like an air cushion, so it will fly above the ground, but can't go higher without more power.

  • i remember those, there called flarecrafts

  • wtf

  • It's a WIG! (wing in ground effect)

That looks like so much fun!

  • precisely what pelicans use, that's what they achieve by flying close to a surface, they spend less energy...

  • This is better known as a "WIG", Wing in ground effect, and it is based on Aircraft more than boat. And by far nothing to due with hovercraft technology. WIG's are quickly becoming a preferred method of mass transportation in areas where there is a lot of water to cover. Some designs can transport hundreds of people and many tons of cargo. For example, research the Boeing "Pelican" with its 500 foot wingspan and amazing range. Google it

  • cool! i want

  • its a Ground effect vehicle (GEV). this is called an ekranoplan

  • @memin2410 I thought only the Russian ones were?

  • @memin2410 I think an ekranoplan is a flying boat more like. this is a flying hovercraft.

  • @memin2410 no, its called the uh-18tws. gah

  • A Ground Effect vehicle that looks pretty cool...

But what I would really like to see is a Mass Effect vehicle...

  • It's a ground effect vehicle, but I'm not sure whether it's based on a boat or a hovercraft.

  • Its a hovercrafy ;)

  • its the water people coming to take our supply!

  • Universal Hovercraft invented this concept more than 12 years ago. This is a modifications to their plan set for the 18SPW. Google Universal Hovercraft and you will see.

  • Russians invented this concept 50 years ago .

Google Kaspian sea monster an you will se.

  • Frankensteinmoneymac was right, it's called an EKRANOPLAN, it stays aloft using a ground effect cussion.

  • it is a hovercraft whit small wings whitch can bring it a bit above the surface

  • An X-Hawk?

  • Yeah these things are cool! Ive seen them before. Someone in another post gave the name. I know their was a huge Russian One called the Caspian Sea Monster I think. You should be able to find vids of it here on Youtube. It looks like a big 747 with tiny lil' wings that kinda skims along just above the surface of D water. They work by creating a kinda air cushion against the water, and are more fuel efficent than a plane.

  • its a acranoplan

  • I see modofication of some Hovercraft, really...

  • looks like a very small ekranoplane

  • I saw plans for this in a mechanics illustrated mag about 20 years ago....well one similar using a small auto engine for power. Pretty neat and great shot for capturing it on video.

  • @stinkingdog101 good memory but it was moore like 30 years ago

  • My how time flys....you are right!

  • Ekranoplane

  • hovercraft with wings lol nice idea

  • Looks like a hovercraft with ground effect wings

  • Can I have one please?

  • Ground effect machine. The russian built huge ground effect machines. There are a bunch of vids on YT.

  • Don't know anything!!

  • starwars anti-gravity vehicle

  • Did Michael J Fox take the video?

    Whats with all the shaking?

  • lol that was coldd

  • I have a horrible sense of humor. It's how I deal with the scary shit in the world.

    Oprah.

    The Donald.

    Disney.

The new building being built at the eppicenter of 9/11.

    Dubai.

    Etc.

  • hahahaha oprah?!?!!? whats so scary about her???

  • an Ekranoplane, makes use of ground effect to glide over the water.

  • i looks like a small hovercraft

  • Nausicaa?!?!

  • It's a WIG (ground effect lift) hovercraft combo. Hoverwing makes an affordable unit.

  • yea was going to say the same ground effect. in WWII there was some ideas being kicked around to make huge --like super tanker size-- versoins of this and use them intransit across the alantic so that u boats could not sink our suplies. but i gess there was a lot of probloms that they thought were to big to fix.

  • nice hovercraft thing.

  • Check out the "Universal Hovercraft" websites.

They sell the hovercrafts as kits and you can add the wings for Wing In Ground Effect flight.

I have seen this one in person at the Oshkosh ,Wisconsin airshow .

  • Blimey. So much disagreement. It is most definately an ekranoplan or wing in ground vehicle, which ever you prefer, although it is definately home made and looks to be built out of the remains of a hovercraft body :S . lol. Most ingeneous and very tempting to have a crack at building one myself :D

  • THIS IS NOT A HOVERCRAFT!!! this is an ekranoplane, it uses the small wings on the side of it to produce a cushon of air that it rides on top of. the russian's designed it in WW2 for heavy transport across large lakes and sea, they were sort of like aircraft but could not take off from the ground more than a few meters. look it up on google if u dont belive me.

  • it was designed in the 60s

  • maybe that perticular model but not the actual concept

  • Looks just like a hovercraft with wings bolted to it :P But I'm sure its much more than that.

  • not realy... it works in the same was as a hover craft as it rides on a cushen of air that is produced by those small wings. where as a hover craft articicialy produces it through use of powerful fans. so they work in the same way they just produce the cushen in diferent ways.

  • It's called a hydrofoil. It's a kind of boat with metal plane wing things on the bottom and they're underneath the boat's hud and when you get up to speed, the lift the hud of the boat off the water but the wing things stay under the water.

  • very true, but this thing dosent have one, its not conected to the water at all, in fact this would work on land, be it flat land, but it would still work on land. its not a boat and not quite a flying plane but it dose fly above the water using a cushon of air created by the small wings on the side.
