  • The smartest thing Nintendo ever did was put The Legend of Zelda on a cart so it could be released outside of Japan.

  • Man, if only the USA had a disk system for the NES back in the day...

  • @ 0:16 This guy sucks at playing LOZ You can't hurt that boss by striking there.

  • @beanisawsome1 Even some ported japanese games to America got sm ethings worst, like Double Dragon 2 - you need to play on difficult to fight with the boss game (USA version), or Contra - in snow level there is snow and animated trees but not in other versions.

  • @beanisawsome1 I don't think this would've picked up in america since it needed special distribution/download stations at stores.

  • hey, i own a famicom. but not the FDS, yet. so far i have SMB on it and i ordered Super Mario USA.

BTW, i live in the US!!!

  • he makes great selling points

  • lol 1:14 He said"Hard To Buy!"

  • Wow... how far we've come :)

  • disku systemu cin habitabi

  • famulee computar

  • FAHMAHLEE COMPUTAHH DISK-uh SYSTEM-uh.

  • Well, i think this is the shorter edition of the commercial of the game Zelda no Denestu, and the Famicom Disk System has got a battery so, it its 100% carryable, (you know the adaptator they were talk about)

  • @SmashCOBamberg

Ōkiku sounds like "old school"? lolz you silly :P

  • @SmashCOBamberg ARE YOU DEAF???

    IT CLEARY SAID OOKIKU HENSHIN

  • @sijotakane Uuuuhm dude I don't speak Jspanese so that makes no sence to me

  • was ths nintendos sega cd

  • @mooses2rock NINTENDO DID NOT MAKE SEGA CD!LOOK!IT SAYS SEGA NOT NINTENDO!

  • @ChiuahuaTubeALT i think it saya nintendo...

  • @ChiuahuaTubeALT dude, he was asking if this was nintendo's EQUIVALENT of the sega cd...

  • @mooses2rock No, this came out LONG before the Sega CD, and it used media equivalent to a floppy disc, and had generally better games....

  • The reason the Famicom had a floppy disk drive is that the Famicom cartridges didn't have battery backup memory, meaning that data couldn't be saved on to the carts. NES carts, as far as I know, have always had battery backup memory available so there really existed no need for a disk drive.

  • @amadeusyaoi Actually at the beginning neither NES or Famicom carts had battery backup available, it was just too expensive for Nintendo to implement (remember, back in 1983-1986, Nintendo was still a small company). They released the disk system for saving, and they planned to release the Disk System over here in time, and to keep games rolling out, they released many Disk System games in the US on Carts with a password system until they could release the system. Besides, FDS load times suck.

  • @JEBBUIT i know. Maybe it is hard to buy (Rare) XD

  • wow they still sell this stuff kinda cool because it;s the old days when I use to play

  • translation?

  • Is the famicom the first nintendo console?

  • @FredFredBurgerStudio i think its the japanese version of the european and american NES....but(feel free to correct me on this) im not 100% shure on that^^...

  • @Bjonna87 Your Right. Except it was also called the famicom most around all of asia, But in south korea it was called the hyundai comboy.

  • @FredFredBurgerStudio no nintendo made a 2 pong consoles before the famicom

it was called tv game 6 and the other tv game 15. but they were only released in japan.

  • At the end sounds like "hard to buy" and in fact it is, due to its high price people ask for. It's gonna become rare so it's time to get while it's possible.

  • 任天堂のゲームがベストは常に

  • can someone explain? XD

Well, I want a Famicom tho...I got a Power Glove that is for the Famicom "/

  • The disk stored biggger newer games like zelda 2 and newer releases 1985+ it can also be used to rip copies of your games which caused a problem of renting and copying,

it was cheaper to buy the games on that diskette from the Nintendo mail service than the carts at stores

but it was ended in summer of 2003

so if you want one you will have to find some hardcore collectors or hardcore fan boys or try Yahoo auctions

or better yet buy a jap-Usa connector for $20

  • the famicom cost 15,000 yen in japan so how much this cost here

  • $150, people must really want that

  • What did it do exactly?

  • @nanashimagalaxy it is the japanese verson of nes dunno if anyone else answered u yet but eh

  • GREAT !

  • Why play normal games when you can pay lots of money just so you can play the exact same thing on a DISC? It's so AMAZING! lol

  • lol i hear it too

  • i wish i had that.

  • I have one of these now, and it rocks! I have the REAL Super Mario Bros. 2 and I think I'll post some gameplay videos on my channel sometime! Also the reason the NES didn't have the Disk System was because we didn't need it, all the games were able to go on the bigger carts, but it still woulda been cool, even if it did cost more money. Did you see the price in the vid? 15,000 Yen, or about $169!

  • lol yeah that's about what the dsi costs now, odd, istnt it?

  • Why did Japan Get the Disk system for the NES and for the N64. We didnt get it here...

  • its because nintendo is based in japan, they try out their new products over there first to see how well the would do.

im not too sure how well the Famicom disk system did because it was way before my time. but i can tell you that the N64 DD failed! i dont inderstand why it had a few awesome games namely F zero X Ek.

  • I remember going on vaccation to japan before I was 3 I saw that commercial on the TV in the hotel room.

  • That's pretty awesome

  • Award for Golden Quality!

  • 0:23: Look at the Top Left Corner! It's Diskun!

  • of course... it was pirated and i didn't need the system below it.

  • that's what i had when i lived in the philippines! awesome!

  • dang i didnt know nintendo had games on diskettes...

  • my bro use to sell those things...

  • WOW That commercial for the Famicom look Fresh back in 1983. I mean look as the special effects at 0:03.
