  • what are the areas of Gwynedd which the FR runs through like to live in? they look beautiful. what are the house prices/crime rates like etc?

  • went in BLodge at the quirks and curiosities event in may, and the place is a huge metalworks factory, mechanic's heaven, and even better when EOM is in the shed with a snapped coupling rod, you get to neuter the engines!

  • lms - I spent a day driving Merddin Emrys earlier this year - the two regulators are separate, and because for a whole load of reasons the response from each end is not identical, the most effective method is actually to treat them individually. There is only one vacuum brake control, though, and this is very nearly the only one you need on the journey back down the hill from Blaenau Ffestiniog.

  • This is a great video on a great channel.

    5* and a sub!

  • Those are magnificent steam engines. I've never seen anything like them in the states. I wish I could see them in person. Thanks.

  • Ken: Do you have any footage or photo of the driving control on a Double Fairlie? I would like to see how the driver operated two engines.

  • HI,

There are another two part's in the pipe line, the final Part may do the trick as there good section covering end of day movements.

You can see into the cab of Merddyn Emrys at 6:02. You can make out how the regulator works.
