I was brown shirt on both VA-113 Med and WesPac. AT-3 rate, but never worked in it, always on deck. I still keep in touch with a few guys in VA-113. We worked with the red shirts as well as plane captain duties. Sent to compartment cleaning after Bill Stewart was KIA because I had a bad attitude per Lt. Waschbusch.
I was an AT-3 in VA-25 during the 1970 deployment, loaded some ordinance before my rating came through during the cruise. Great video, many great memories in Subic, Hong Kong, and Japan! I have hundreds of 35mm slides from the cruise, unfortunately no Super 8. Thanks for posting these videos, we were all kids then with a full life in front of us. I think of that time and try to pass on my memories to my grandson and honor those lost from our ship and squadron.
I was VA-113, 1968-71 just when we transitioned from A-4 to A-7. Last WesPac lost my best friend William S, Stewart on 'cold cat' in C-2A, December, 1970
Gentlemen Thank you for this stroll along memory lane.
I was also in VA 113 during 73-4-5 and part of 6. My bird was 313. Did a short stint with the Royal Maces on the Enterprise too. Turd Shirts Rule!!!!
I was a AZ-2 in VA-113 Stingers on that cruise. I was happy to see some of the aircraft and faces from the past. thanks for posting this video, it brings back many good memories.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. There is a documentry on the History channel that has been recently running on the A-7 Corsair...brings back alot of memories.
