  • was the original La Resistance not Rene Dupree and Sylivan Grenier, but then Dupree got moved to Smackdown?

  • @JOHNNYCFC18 It was Rene Dupree and Sylivan & Rob joined them later on, then Rene got drafted to SD! and it was just Sylivan and Rob for a while until their gimmick changes but Rene still kept the gimmick.

  • It's sad but Montreal will never get WrestleMania. Because the WWE now wants 100,000 + seats stadium and there is none in Quebec. Wikipedia says that the Olympic Stadium can hold 78,322 fans maximum (including the middle surface). MTL is the best crowd I know. Better than here, NYC. And the fact that MTL fans are hard to predict, you can built something on reactions. And thats a very bad point for WM. Sad, but true.

  • It may be their home town (kinda) but these 2 heels got a bigger cheer than Super Cena ever has!

  • Bring back attitude Era .

  • @Musicofilter this wasn't attitude

  • Quebec beat Ontario and Alberta

  • back when the tag championships meant something

  • They're all Canadian.

  • They're all Canadian!

  • Everyone in this match is Canadian!

  • @marty34156 Conway was american

  • @marty34156 Edge is from Ontario and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was from Alberta

Quebec is practically a different country

  • @painlessissuicide Benoit was born in Montreal, but was raised (and billed from throughout most of the career) in Edmonton.

  • @Tubewings my point still stands

  • @marty34156 Rob Conway is American you fool!

  • LOL @ Lawler's scream at :19

  • Bring La Resistance BACK!!!

  • Malade!!!

  • if edge benoit had faced any other team, they would have had the home advantage

  • LOL! Montreal winning the world series.

No one cares about baseball here

  • @Exne the washington nationals used to be the montreal expos

  • @paul21mclovin Thanks tips!

  • damn i miss old wwe !

  • Though, both teams are canadian, this match got an amazing reaction!

  • Ahhh yes, when these titles actually meant something...

  • Only in Canada

  • thats a badass finisher move

  • @James54ify

their double choke-slam is a killer, too!

  • this crowd is the best with heels

  • Comment removed

  • im not gonna lie i dont really like any crowd in canada but i love the fact that they are smart fans and they are always rowdy and rambunctious

  • ..Back when tag teams and the tag titles actually meant something/

  • now thats a pop!

  • JR claims both members of La Resistance are from Quebec. Conway is from Quebec?

  • @rlouie05 Conway turned his back on America, and declared he's from Quebec from now on.

  • La resistance theme is epic

  • What a Canadian Match.

  • RAW HOUSESHOW IN MONTREAL TOMORROW ( OCTOBER 31 ) !

  • The next Wrestlemania should be held in Montreal, thumbs up if you agree =)

  • @DarrenLee93 ...agreed, and at one of the loudest venues (now more than ever because of the now-permanent roof) in North America, none other than "The Big-O" itself, Olympic Stadium. It would draw over 60,000 passionate, hardcore, always-wrestling-educated Quebecquois WWE fans EASILY, surpassing any Grey Cup or Montreal Alouettes home game ever held there!!!

  • @DarrenLee93 thumbs up timese a million

  • 0:20 look at this crowd

    THIS IS wrestling fans

  • @vadont And THIS is poor english

  • even though benoit was born in montreal and was world champ at that time, the crowd just ate up the anti-us gimmick of la resistance.

  • SMARKS EVERYWHERE

  • what a great past...great tag teams

  • what i dont get is, Benoit and Edge are canadian too so would the crowd have cheered for them if they had won.

  • @KngBG1190 no cuz they are english canadian...got it now?....

  • @KngBG1190 true they are canadian but, Edge was from Ontario and Benoit was from Alberta. La Resistance was from Quebec.

  • @EhpickMusic exactly yea your so right

  • GO CHECK SYLVAN VS HARDCORE HOLLY AWSOME HARDCORE MATCH!!!! FRESHLY UPLOADED!!!! =)

  • the better past

  • well there all canadians except Conway. and Grenier is the only French Canadian though

  • @owl316 rene dupree is french canadian too the difference is sylvan is from quebec dupree is acadian who are the frenchs of the atlantic province east of quebec and conway i dunno but on wikipedia they say hes from the united states, state of indiana.

  • I miss La Resistance! they were a unique tag team in my opinion!

  • I thought these guys were supposed to be from France?

  • @vap420 Sylvain Grenier is from Quebec Rob conway i dont know from where

  • @bigdantropphat i think on wikipedia they say that conway is from indiana

  • what match was that and did people use to stop booing la resistence

  • @MrLuchas123 and vap420 WOW CANT U GUYS JUST READ THE TITLE LISTEN TO WHAT JR AND KING SAY AND READ THE COMMENTS??MAYBE U WILL KNOW WHATS GOING ON YOU RETARDED PIECE OF SHITS DIPPING IN URINE

  • @MsGoldoche what does 'reading the title' have to do with La Resistance supposed to be from France?

  • @vap420 well in the title i can read montreal which is in quebec,la résistance got quebec flags, the fans have quebec flags king keep compared them to montreal sport teams so could it be more clear that they change there gimmick from french to quebecers like years ago......

  • au revoir

  • i miss this team (originally rene and sylvan)

  • Vive le Quebec Libre !

    Et Vive La France !

  • WWE doesn't come in Canada that often. They come regularly, but not as much as in the States. So when you're from Quebec and guys from your province ( at least Sylvain) come down the aisle with Quebec flags, YOU CHEER FOR THEM even if they're heels.

Remember when Sylvan came out alone in Montreal a few years back ? The pop was AMAZING.

  • is simply they are win in montreal,qc Canada

  • sorry but why is the crowd cheering for la resistance ? i thought they were jeered at ? anyone knows why ?

  • I'm guessing it's because they're in Montreal, which is in Canada, where the La Resistance members are from. And in all honesty, they weren't a bad tag team. WWE is just really aggravating in its favoritism in deciding who to push and who to screw over.

  • the bell centre in montreal holds a pretty huge crowd for an amphitheatre arena.

  • Maryse should win a title in Montreal

  • @REDBEN27 Maybe her next Divas title, might get the same face reaction. :D

  • @REDBEN27 next montreal isn't even televised =(

  • @vadont

    I know, it sucks.

  • @REDBEN27 i know =(

  • @REDBEN27

Maryse should be forced to wrestle naked.

  • @marty34156 Id pay to see that even if it were free. Thats how much it would be worth to see.

  • @REDBEN27 she did win her first title in Toronto.. so, that's not bad.

  • @BoneThug223 actually not so good because montreal and toronto are effin rivals

  • @REDBEN27 She definatly should!

    Translation:

It was a very nice finishing move, done with lots of athletism I found.

  • why does rede dupre have the same song

  • Benoit/Edge may be Canadians as well, but La Resistance uphold their culture unlike the former.

  • idiot! CONWAY IS AMERICAN!

  • rob conway isn't from montreal he's from the united states

  • they need to come back

  • 0:04

You gotta love it when King is commentating

  • this is a bit of national upset! after all, edge is from toronto and chris benoit is also from montreal with sylvan grenier...the three of them are canadians excpet for rob conway, he is american

  • I WONT J R AND KING BACK TOGHTER AND La resistance

  • you wont see a pop like that ever again in the wwe. even cena doesn't get a pop this huge in this day and age

  • thats a sick tag team finisher

  • stanley cup lol

  • wow youd think they were faces with the pop they got

  • You don't need to be a face to be popular here in The Province of Quebec.

  • true but that goes for everywhere. raven stevie and rvd are all loved here in philly

  • Yes because these are great wrestlers, but it's not working like that everywhere. Heels like Orton, Edge, Jericho who are great Wreslters are booed anywhere they go except great wrestling cities like Philly, NY, Montreal, Toronto.

  • yeah well edge and jericho are both from canada. im sure orton has a lot of respect. well, philly has a lot of respect for all ecw guys. pretty much the entire tri state region (nj, del, pa) loves the ecw guys. but sandman, raven, stevie and a few others are truly from here in philly

  • dont forget Chicago!

  • Well that's not everywhere some specific town are special to wrestling... Montreal and Philly as well exept them only in memphis and NY would be special the rest all remain the same WWE fashion style. MTL-Phi-Mem-NY are the best for wrestling. The worst would be California and Florida.

  • true because ecw was based in philly at the famous ecw arena downtown. plus really any of the 5 or 6 wrestling towns in canada.

  • or anywhere in a decent wrestling market like NYC or Toronto

  • montreal too

  • nice finisher

  • Le plus beau moment de ma vie!!!

  • such an awesome moment

    vive la resistance!

  • VIVE LA RESISTANCE!!!

  • I've been watched countless live shows from WWE, IWS, ROH, and a few other smaller indies. THIS was my absolute FAVOURITE LIVE MATCH EVER.

anybody have the full match uploaded??

  • That move is sick

  • VERY AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The crowd likes it...

  • ofc i like it all like it la resistance own back there

  • @marco25121 You wont see the heel to be cheered in theyre own city anymore

  • Yes a pretty hot and at times unpredictable place for wrestling. On another show, Hulk Hogan was supposed to be booed since the NWO was reborn. Instead he got such a huge pop he quietly returns backstage and cried in joy. And what about the one Stone Cold got after beating Owen Hart at SurvivorSeries of 1997?

But yeah usually locals are very popular in MTL no matter their role.

  • What a great tagteam. Conway and Grenier had it all and STILL do... they should be back on WWE with title belts still.

  • This reminds me of that time when Tajiri and Regal won the tag tam titles in Japan.

I miss when the crowd cheered loud when the tag team belts switched hands.

  • montreal is notorious for having a very hot crowd, no matter what's going on. this was very cool because they were heels at the time yet faces in quebec. very cool seeing a response like this. one of the pops i'll always remember.

  • Maan , they were awesome .. I remember this game , I was excited for them they deserved it

  • Has to be one of the greatest moments in 2004! To me anyway.

  • montreal got the hottest crowd

  • i was there i was so happy for them

  • Hmm... I think that's the only time I can recall La resistance getting a positive recation. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

  • you mean you didnt like sylvian greniers model gimmick?! or rene duprees poodle?! or rob conways "just look at me" theme?!

    joke lol

this video shows how good they were as a tag team.....the draft causing them to split kinda killed them imo.

  • Out of all three of them, Dupree had the most potential. When he was on ECW with his narcisistic gimmick, that was it right there. But the WWE never really followed through with it.

  • what a awesome unexpected moment, hard to beleive the wwe discarded these guys so quickly. rene and rob conway were my favorite tho

  • I love when a heal wins a title fair and square. I watched this live and was totally shocked.

  • Thats the biggest pop I've ever seen

  • You haven't seen much wrestling then.

  • Let me correct myself then, ONE of the biggest pops I've ever seen. Everyone gets a pop when they win a title in their own home area

  • british bulldogs pop when he won the intercontintental title in summserslam 92 against bret hart completely dwarfs this. In comparsion the montreal crowd seems silent, though there was much more people popping for davey boy

  • fuck the usa fat people!!

  • Do people not realize Edge and Chris Benoit are Canadian?

  • Not only that, but Rob Conway is American!

  • yes. new jersey. i see him every family reunion

  • thats wat threw me off! lol

  • That's because La Résistance represents the french-speaking province of Canada, which is Québec. That's why I was also cheering in this crowd.

  • lol i had forgotten about that lol

  • coooool

  • that was awesome moment wow

  • for all the critisism people give wwe about how they treat their talent it was a pretty sweet move to have Grenier win the gold infront of his family and the Montreal crowd

that's one the biggest pops i've ever seen in wwe

  • vive le quebec sa sa fait du bien voir des quebecois gagner les tag teams belt a wwe

  • la resistance are shit

  • Just because you're a mark who believes WWE markets wrestlers for what they really can do doesn't mean WWE actually does that.

You probably have no clue of what kayfabe is.

  • you can pretty much sum up a kayfabe to be a suspension of disbelief.

La Resistance when compared to the legendary tag teams are pretty shit to be fair.

  • I'd rather say that it's a fair statement that they're not a legendary tag team.

However, it is also a pretty fair statement that WWE limited both of them as well.

While Conway's skills are well-known by several indy fans, Grenier's pretty underestimated by those who base themselves on what they saw in WWE.

You can look up his matches he had in ncw on youtube, and you'll see that he can do a lot more than what he did in WWE.

  • yer your right man.

    Look it up, mec!

  • Effectivement il est né a MTL et y a vécu jusqu'a l'age de 6-7 ans.

  • Vive Montreal ! but ..when was that ??? (the date)

  • Memorial Day 2004

  • I marked out like a son of a bitch when I watched this on TV.

  • ...and damnit J.R.! It's called the Au Revoir, not the "Tandem Moon"!!!

  • wasnt it called "bonsoir"?

  • No it's called "Vous jobbez à soir, les deux main-eventers parce que vous êtes chez nous, crisse!".

Well, no not really. But one thing's for sure: the move bears the name of some french greeting.

  • im so excited when they will return(may be)

  • now,i think some french in the wwe will be awesome!!fuck kozlov!!

  • Koslov is awesome

  • Vive Là Resistance!!

  • Dang! I so marked out when I first watched that!
