@streetdancer YES sign is still up,& NO, the doors still have the same "Studio 54" emblem on it (it is copyrighted and owners brought the rights to it), but the large sign on the outside is gone at least when i was there in the summer, so if u were there last week then the put it back up, I only remember the doors still have the old studio 54 on it.and they were the same doors from 1979 when I passed thru them but blacked out,
you could not see inside from the outside which was cool (privacy)
@discolarry124 thats cool, im 28 and wish i could have experienced Studio 54 iv read abit about it also knowing michael jackson used to party there made me feel star struck just seeing the outside... the glass 54 sign was actualy in Hard Rock caffe in time square but the big black signs where still up and doors
@streetdancer, I can go ON and ON in what I saw there, some of your 70's stars frequent there and I tell you this, You would not believe the shit they did, & that is why
the doors were painted black, one of the stars (who is NOT with us today) collpase in the hall and I had to help her up (I was just walking out of the blue into the hall) cause of too much ????. some of the stuff that happen in the balcony.freaky kid u not, (just like Plato's Retreat) another nice spot, Yes Lord!
@streetdancer, OH no, cant do that, I will go to my grave with what I saw and what I was told, I will tell you this, Public Relations People have a very hard job, keeping their clients name "clean" the shxt that went on in the basement, OMG,yes OMG, that was more than 30 yrs ago, some of them are still on this earth, I promised then and have to keep my word to keep my trap shut. One profession I should have done was public relations, LOTS of money there. and lots of headaches too.
wow... i actualy went here on my visit to new york last week and took a picture of the building the sign is still up
