I used Thaumagy (I think the name was) and had him beaten in 5 minutes or so.

Serah - Ravager

Cait Sith - Medic

I had Noel as my leader and I kept casting Aero on Royal Ripeness. Both Noel and Serah learned Aero prior to battle and Cait Sith's level is at 20. I never changed jobs, just kept casting the Aero ability and killed him off in about 5 minutes, making this an extremely easy battle

First, its the first half hour, not 10 mins.

Second, she is narrator, as she witnesses all of time at once.

Third, she actually appears a few times later in the story.

Fourth, she's involved in at least one major sidequest.

@eboy1016 I just explained it all. Read better. She's only playable for the first part, then it'ss Serah and Noel's journey. For the DLC, you'll fight her (the XIII version) and her Sergent from the Guardians in the Colissium area (which is 'beyond time'). You have a chance (7% or so) to obtain her as a 'monster' slot for your third party member (so she it not controlable, and is only a Ravager with the Army of One special skill) upon beating her. I THINK you can get the guy as well.

@eboy1016 FF4 used Kain as the cover for marketing. It happens *shrug*. While it may be Serah+Noel's journey, in the end it is Lightning's journey. I'm almost sure a Lightning centric DLC story will come that will clarify the ending more, and her role will probably only expand into a XIII-3.

Games have done this marketing tactic before. I don't respect it, but I don't hate it either. Lightning plays a large enough role in the overall mythology that I'm OK with it.

My opinion based on this video? Bad music, shallow characters and horrible voice actors.

I don't think combat has changed, So it's still unresponsive and mindless button bashing.

I think SE just wants to make their product stand out too much against the western rpg's, like Mass Effect and Skyrim. Those games focus on the narrative first.

SE focusses on flashy visuals.

@AidanReed The battle System has gotten slightly better, Graphics are of course still nice. Personally I don't see skyrim being their big RPG rival(FF has alot of history) but they are nervous of western RPG

@Tangvu I absolutely love Fang. Lightning is hit and miss. Snow is annoying as hell (but attractive in a weird way, so I don't totally hate him). I will be immediately downloading the future Sazh DLC as I love him. Hope... has become respectable. Vanille is hit and miss, but mostly miss. Her good parts are nice though, and I do wish her to return in a possible FFXIII-3.

I've grown to weirdly like these characters. Not as much as certain other games, but still enough. Noel isn't bad too.

Zidane is my favourite, since he represents the goodness in a person, regardless of their background and he doesn't go around punching people and surround himself with a depressing aura.

@Tangvu I think you're solely mistaken. Lightning never once complained or whined about anything, not even once. That's why she's Lightning and not any other character (which whine). She's the strong-willed (not arrogant) woman who has a maternal/god-complex going on about her, which makes her strong and weak both equally.
