This song is an amazing display of talent in the metal genre. Thank you 0Sagara0 for cutting out that awful ending. It's so rare to hear a BEAUTIFUL guitar solo from death metal from America (I have a huge stick up my ass for Swedish death metal so if anybody wants to bitch, don't). The solos at the end are amazing, building into a HUGE climax with the harmonizing guitar solos. To be blunt, this song totally pumps my nads. I can't listen to this and NOT be ready to kick some ass!

The point is, Akerfeldt sings naturally, he doesn't put unnecessary emphasis to make his vocals sound forced and whiny, and Opeth is still DM.
I believe it, but unfortunately far too many Metalcore vocalists strain their voices to try and sound like something, or someone they're not. If you're going to sing, at least try to do it in a genuine nature, so it doesn't sound fake and and/or completely generic.
While i do think that Matt sings pretty genuinely(if not slightly a little epicly if you know what i mean) but metalcore vocalists are the worst(i don't think that Trivium is as "metalcore" as bands like Avenged sevenfold or some shit). My main point. Once Trivium comes out with another album I suppose I'll listen to it, but the vast majority of Metalcore is incredibly irritating to say the least. BTBAM, and Into the Moat are the only specifically Metalcore bands that I can think of off the top of my head and that don't completely suck.
First of all, of course Melodeath sounds incredibly similar to Death Metal, it obviously wouldn't be called MeloDeath if it didn't have any sonic affiliation with the genre it initially branched off of, now would it? Second, Opeth is far more progressive and Black Metal influenced than anything At The Gates and Heartwork era Carcass ever recorded, not to mention I find it kind of ironic how Opeth is constantly using Diminished based progressions if they're MD.

i'm not a big metal fan specifically because of the vocals... metal vocals are extremely demanding and i find a lot of the singers can't live up to it. for music in general i listen to Yes, Ozric Tentacles, Genesis, Pink Floyd and much more... for metal however, I listen to Death, Testament, Opeth, old Metallica, Slayer, The Faceless, Burzum, Emperor, Mayhem... mostly thrash and black metal, death metal is rocky ground for me but it has its gems

i'm not a big metal fan specifically because of the vocals... metal vocals are extremely demanding and i find a lot of the singers can't live up to it. for music in general i listen to Yes, Ozric Tentacles, Genesis, Pink Floyd and much more... for metal however, I listen to Death, Testament, Opeth, old Metallica, Slayer, The Faceless, Burzum, Emperor, Mayhem... mostly thrash and black metal, death metal is rocky ground for me but it has its gems

thats the only thing matt does in this band so STFU... and MKH is an amazing vocalist ... the two bands are totally diffrent dont compare trivium to this because their totally diffrent Trivium doesnt do full on Death Metal trivium has their own style and to be honest its a really good mix of things both bands rule but Trivium is on the top on my fraverate list and has been for around 3-4 years...
