    I'm a yellow belter.Actually, I practice some martial arts aside from aikido.uhm,,

    @larcen357-you know alot of things:))

  • Good to meet you. I've been with the group before. Check you youtube email. :)

  • iba na aikido nito ha!!pagiging boastful na ang pnplabas nyo KI!! bkt ganto bt ang defenser ganyan?kakaiba d marunong to!anong belt n b to!

  • @good52boy . Why are you so jealous? Buy your own DV camera so you can post yours. We'll probably laugh to death when we see your face.

  • Wala akong makita na pagmamayabang maliban sa post mo "good52boy". Kung di mo gusto ang nakikita mo dito sa YouTube, wag mong panoodin. I appreciate those martial artist who upload their training and demo videos. Even though they executed some of it incorrectly and clumsy, you can still learn from them. Learn from both accomplishments and mistakes.

  • Do you ever actually spar or no?

  • what do you mean?

  • Well I mean like have an opponant try to punch you in the face, throw jabs, move around etc like how a real fight might be. I saw a few punches and kicks but they were obviously very slow and telegraphed so you knew exactly what was coming. Do you ever train against full speed striking?

  • ah..not yet..

  • Well if you're in this for self defense you will definitely want to do that lol. If you have other reasons though than keep doing what you are doing. You are clearly quite skilled either way.

  • @FalseShadowx yup, there are also techniques for fast strikers in this martial art. Its just that you cannot display all techniques so everybody can see it. Most boring techniques are usually the effective ones.

  • I don't understand what you mean by you can't display all techniques so everyone can see it. Yes you can. Care to tell me what your talking about? A link to these techniques maybe?

  • Yes, its possible to show ALL of the techniques. But revealing all techniques is a bad idea. What do you think will happen if an evil person learn the techniques? Also, techniques depends in the element of surprise. It is also the same thing with other martial arts like Tai Chi. They are known to have slow movements. But they only do this when practicing outdoors. If you really want to learn all of the techniques , then go the gym.

  • Regarding the link that your requesting, I'll check if there are similar techniques or at least close to the ones their practicing. I'll also look for the one that almost made me paralysed. (..yeah, I had to learn the hard way because of my arrogance..)

  • You're worried about "evil people" finding out these techniques and using them? Let's be real here. What do I think would happen if an "evil person" learned aikido? He might be able to hurt some people, then he would be tazered and arrested. In the age of stabbing and shooting someone learning aikido is not really a legitimate concern... I'm not even asking for a technique so deadly that my feeble mind couldn't comprehend it. I'm just trying to figure out if aikido is any use at all in a fight.

  • @FalseShadowx - Arrested? Well, I don't know where you are from but based on what you said, you are from a very peaceful place where the law is upholded. As far as I know, there are alot of people who have committed alot of crime (even murder) but freely roaming. Wish I can be where you are. Regarding the techniques, it involves study on how to immediately dislocate joints. It also involves strikes to groine, poke to the eye.

  • Their techniques are designed to end the encounter within split-second/s. Usually, beginners are though how to throw or take-down opponents and litterally run or avoid fighting. Intermediate practioners still covers these but adds some locks and holds. Advance practitioners still practices later but are taught how to instantly dislocate any part of the skeletal system or even how to kill immediately by bare hands.

  • However, it will be up to the instructor to decide if a student is responsible enough to learn the techniques. Remember, all martial arts that teaches self-defense have dangerous techniques as well. All martial arts are originally designed for combat for inflicting destruction. Now regarding your question if Combat Aikido techniqes can be used in actual or real -life (life or death situation), yes. It is also the same as any type of Martial Art

  • The fact that we are at the age of guns, most martial arts organizations focuses more on competition, although some still practices techniques for unarmed combat and ancient weapons. However, there are still those who prioritize combat over competion. Check youtube for krav maga, ninjitsu, Marine Corps Martial Arts. Take note that the Armed forces uses fire arms but still trains for CQC (dog fight range) . This is because fire arms are at disadvantage inside 7 feet range.

  • @FalseShadowx found one that not exactly the striking techniques that their practicing but this is the closes look for USERNAME: SenseiNinja2

  • Yes, in most places I and most other people in developed countries go, the law is "upholded". So in a time where you can easily be shot or stabbed, you are worried about someone learning how to poke you in the eye or kick you in the groin? I hate to tell you, but you don't really need to train to know how to do that.

Kill immediately by bare hands? Ok, I can do that too with a rear naked choke, or punching someone hard in the back of the neck. Aikido people always seem to embelish everything.

  • You see with rear naked choke, it takes minutes before you can kill someone since it involves cutting-off the supply of oxygen and blood (depends in the way of the choke and how proper the choke is) so this is not immediate, the person becomes unconsious first before dying. Not to mention that you need to get the persons back. When I say immediate, I meant split seconds. Punching at the back of the neck can only kill some one if you can match Mike Tysons punch. How old are anyway?

  • No... anyone who was taught chokes knows that the rear naked choke can kill you in 10-15 seconds, not minutes. I'm not mike tyson, but I assure you I could do irreversible damage by striking the back (or front) of someone's neck...

My point is, all martial arts have deadly techniques, why do you think aikido is so special and deadly that you can't show it's good techniques on youtube?

  • How many mma fighters did you see endured a perfect rear naked choke? Regarding strike to the back of the neck, well let see, how strong is an average human bone? I suggest you consult a trusted professional. However its good that we both agree that all martial arts have deadly techniques (see my previous post). Regarding this video, they are Combat Aikido but it's just a name. I've personally seen and participated in their training and even suggested to change the name since it's not even

  • Ok well I don't really know what you're talking about but you do understand the point of a submission right? The opponent can tap out without being choked unconscious or killed. Also, I don't need to consult anyone to know a hard strike to the back of the neck will kill you...

Either way all I wanted was some examples of actual effective techniques from aikido for an actual fight. Once again I leave empty-handed but it isn't my intention to start an argument so take care and train well.

  • No argument at all. In fact I enjoyed our conversation. I think it's more of a language or culture barrier. But in the end we seem to be ok. I am also interested on learning more aside from mma. If you don't mind, can we still contact each other by email?

  • Feel free to message me whenever you want. I figured English was not your first language, but you speak it much better than I speak any other language. I'm envious of you for this.

  • LOL. Actually I use dictionary :)

  • Do you mean like an online translator or you use a dictionary to help you find the words you need?

  • Well, a little of both (online and book). I only understand the meaning of the words but I need help when it comes to figure of speech, alternate meaning, spelling and construction of sentence.

  • ...Aikido. Don't be fooled by their video here. You can see them have traditional japanese clothes and only demonstrates some of their techniques. You'll be surprised when you watch their actual training in their gym. Their also into wrestling, grappling, kick boxing, traditional weapons, etc. One thing I like with the instructor is that he never said "this is the only way". Perhaps someday, they will separate and change a new name for the club

  • dumaan pa si diego...aus namn ang pagkakaturo ni ser...may freeedom namn kasi eh

  • that was superb. very nicely done.

  • alam nyo, maganda sana kaya lang di na sila sumusunod sa definition ng AIKIDO, which is The Way of Harmonizing Energy, akalain mo ba namang sinontok(monochuki) ang uke, street fighting na yan ah! subra na ang focus nyo sa combat halos wala na ang AIKIDO, asan naba ang Leading, Controling, Pining, and Blending nyo? You know what, we must be harmonized with nature, we must nuetralize the enemy but no to hurt them... Please look back where you belong, review the traditional way, focus on KI.

  • @kabfi . You do not know what you are talking about. Aikido is a type of martial arts. The etymology of the word MARTIAL is derived from a rank of a soldier that can either mean "fighter", "warrior","COMBATant", "battler", "struggler", etc. and the word "Art" means "way", "method" or "approach". Thus, any type of martial art involves HURTING someone. Remember that an effective lock or hold in Aikido requires the user to apply PAIN on the opponent to be able to NEUTRALIZE our assailant.

  • @kabfi Also keep in mind that all Martial Art has an "Unwritten Rule' in actual combat (when you need to use it in battle) that means "Kill or be killed", "Strike with pain or suffer". That is the purpose of any MARTIAL ART, it is meant for combat. And also regarding "Harmonizing Energy" in actual combat, this only means that your move must be effecient enough because you need all the help that you can get when your facing death.

  • yabang!! mark 2.. hehehe....

  • that was really good! 5 stars

  • wow. nice.
