Great Job dude, really love it and I just tried to play it the way you do. Sounds great and actually..looks good ;) But day one when death magnetic was released, I tried to play the Song even thou there were no tabs or videos yet. And I guess I found out a much easier way to play it. Just play standard chords like die G you play...and then from the beginning it just goes Am, G, E, C . The Notes in between you should get pretty quick with your skills ;) greets from germany, keep going!

Nice! but in the first part it's far easier to do it with a A minor chord, start with an open A, then on the D string an E (2nd fret), then a C on the B string (1st fret), then a D string E again, an open B, then an A on the G string (2nd fret), an open A, and finally a G string A. But nice paying, keep it up

Thanks dude but you'll find the a minor shape wont allow you any flow with the consistency in the sound of the patterns. The strings have no control when they ring out The way I have posted is pretty much how Hetfield plays it.

Open A Minor is easier, I agre.. but it aint right unfortunately.. Check jmaes' hands in the video for the song. Thanks again dude..

hey there really great lesson. One question is in standard tuning i only ask because when i play the D string open at the beginning it just does not sound right and yet it sounds perfect on the video. before you ask yes my guitar is in tune so im somewhat baffled.
