Now look at the GDP per capita of US, and then look at China's. Finally look at the US GNP, and then look at China's. All the numbers point to the US being wealthier than China (in the next few decades that could very much change). Look at China's life expectancy (73.7) and then look at the US 78.7.

Obesity isn't just an American problem, it's a first world problem, most developed countries have a pretty high rate of obesity. Generally as a country becomes more affluent, obesity rates tend to rise (this is also happening in China).

China must commence the lead in electric car industries. Passion of the young generations must be encouraged by resources and research capitals so even corner stores are benefited from the high speed infrastructure. They need to accomplish various frameworks for next day sales/arrivals/return/refunds for online commerce to discourage low quality productions and imports. Passion, services and efforts will improve as a major quality of all available resources on top of technology and education.

@lfmiddleearth How is that going to work? The reason why Chinese goods are so cheap (apart from the artificially devalued currency) is because the standard of living is lower there so workers can be paid with much lower wages. Factories opened in the US can not compete.
to do that you need tariffs on goods and services. so that wal-mart won't be filled with Chinese slave goods -- $1 for a light bulb made in America can't compete with 10 cents for a Chinese one. you'd have to balance it with tariffs on imports.

Now look at the GDP per capita of US, and then look at China's. Finally look at the US GNP, and then look at China's. All the numbers point to the US being wealthier than China (in the next few decades that could very much change). Look at China's life expectancy (73.7) and then look at the US 78.7.

Obesity isn't just an American problem, it's a first world problem, most developed countries have a pretty high rate of obesity. Generally as a country becomes more affluent, obesity rates tend to rise (this is also happening in China).

Only when the nation/country/region has reached the "industrialized" "first world" economic stage then the "explosive" growth created by the "tranformative" stage will subside because the huge (previously DIRT POOR) farming population has been moved to the cities to become factory workers and then you start seeing the classic "modern industrial" economy that is almost always at a 2 - 4% yearly average.

Britain began her "industrial revolution" around the turn of the 19th Century and it spread to Western Europe around a generation later.

We have no manufacturing capacity *because* we lowered tariffs through horrible NAFTA and other free trade agreements, giving American industry incentives to move out of the country and hire cheaper labor. you understand NOTHING about economics. and NOTHING about America. Raise tariffs, and those industries return. If China dumped its dollar reserves, China would also DIE, asshole, their currency is PEGGED to the US dollar.

and the reason America has been industrially gutted is because the nation was too strong for world government. and that's where the Bilderberg group and Trilateral Commission, the IMF, UN and Council on Foreign Relations and the EU are all trying to take us. Why would they let China become as strong as the US once was? Any sovereign nation of that strength would kill plans for world government. China is a cheap manufacturing slave labor economy. The US needs to stop importing dangerous trash from China.
Stuff can be had just as cheap but for far less cost to the environment if it were assembled in central America from US sourced ICs and parts.
This would solve two big problems at once it would produce skilled jobs in the US but it also would improve things in Mexico and solve the wave of illegal immigrants desperate to find employment in the US.
BTW per ton a train has half the carbon foot print of a container ship.

Happy for stuff that's toxic and breaks after six months so I have to buy another. BTW people did not work 12 hours a day in US factories back when stuff was made here.
We have this little thing called automation that is missing from most of their factories that enables one US worker to have four times the productivity of one Chinese worker.

Ignorant Mlissa Chan..does she know that US counts Rent as part of their GDP, as well as Gambling?..China, however, never counted Rent and other 'service income' as GDP, and Gambling is totally illegal. Therefore it was excluded. I'd say China's GDP is underestimated, while US' GDP is not as high as you think. As far as Solid GDP(Industrial output) is concerned, China is not that far behind US. The gap is narrower than you think. Wake up!

Totally agree, what I can read is that Americans, on the surface, flatter the countries by telling how well they were doing. but they actually tend to do something unspeakable to hinder their progress, see the enforcement of Plaza Accord with Japan in 1985 and the punitive tariffs on Chinese products now, anyone will know what the hell Americans have been doing

China restricts speeches, yes, BUT it has virtually no child labor.
China has a one-child policy, so they don't have children to go into the labor force anyway. Most children are single and precious. Parents make tremendous sacrifices to provide the best for their only children. Children in China are being spoiled that they are known as "Little Emperors" or "Little Empresses".

Child labor is a problem in third-world cultures in which poor families do not practice birth control or abortion, and they have litters of children that they can't afford. So children are abundant and cheap commodities. Poor families "sold away" few of their children to help support many other children.
In China where families have only one or very few children, no family is willing to give up their precious one child for slave labor.
