Just bought a alchemist head, it sounds great clean, but kinda crap on the mercury channel, very fizzy/fuzzy, gets even worse when the mid and treable are below 12 noon on the amp, is this normal? or do i have a bad one? anyone!?
I bought an ESP Eclipse II FR for probably 1/3rd (bought mine for like $1700 new) of what you bought that Axcess for. I have played the axcess and have to say im sorry for what you paid. The quality control and attention to detail (ie: wiring, finish, action, fretboard, frets, etc) of ESP really is untouchable by Gibson. Think before you buy.
oh yeah i never use a floyd rose before-are they hard to set up or what happens when you break a string does it all go out of tune? easy to change strings? i do every other show.
axess- glued neck ? type of woods used?rosewood or ebony? frets, are they polished like they should be on a custom guitar? are the pick ups great or need upgrade, is this guitar set up and good to perform when it arrives? please reply.
hate when people have floyds on quality instruments it ruins the sound cause most people see a whammy and just want to fucking rape the shit out of it. like kirk hammet using a wah pedal he shouldnt be allowed to use one
hey nsriley, nice!! what can you tellme about the neck of that axcess? i have a les paul with a 60s neck and i like it but the 50s is tu bulky> hows on your axcess
i put an EMG 81 on my Gibson Les Paul Studio and it sounds fantastic, on the neck i put a seymour duncan jazz and it sounds great. the clean on the EMG is sort of annoying though, im glad i put the seymour cause if not i wouldve ruined it. if i get this baby, i dont think i would to it again though, its just so different
i think im gonna use emg and seymours as well but im gonna use emg for the bridge and seymour on the neck i love the clean tone on seymours and the crunch on emg bridge pickups
Can you believe it ....are gibson actually copying prs s/c trem. Their scaled down version of the 335 - the 339, is this in response to the small comfortable prs hollowbodies? I'm not complaining, i think it's great, i love both gibson and prs. Competition is good and keeps the makers on their toes. Oh, and the alchemist is a great affordable amp.
Very nice tone! I have an almost identical setup. I was wondering if you could please post your Alchemist settings. Also, during the distorted part was that the BB preamp or the Alchemist's Mercury channel?
I'll see what i can work up on my settings, but when I first switch from clean to distorted it is the Merc channel, I only use the BB to really add gain later on in the clip. Thanks!
Good Job. What are your amp settings???

It should, dimebag makes the tremolo go back then pushes it down to do a pull up effect while pushing on the tremolo

Feels more like a 60's profile to me than a 50's. I have small hands and it really was comfy.

SMGs are kick ass! I have a 81 and 85 in my les paul. I play on a old 63 gibson falcon amp. It doesn't get any better.

ur preference not mine i love gibsons for there bodys and tone u can get from the body itself and i love seymour and emg pickups for the metal crunch
munkeefork69 2 years ago
Fine, but what ever guitar you put EMGs in, they all end up sounding the same....To ME that is.
