Absolutely THE BEST example of a properly restored and regulated nickelodeon on youtube! My father and Larry Givens listened to an "H" while making 88 note Mel-O-Dee piano rolls in the 1960s. What fun! Regards, John Gourley IV
I think that anyone who is using Mr. Reblitz's fine book on Player Piano Servicing, should supplement the coin piano and orchestrion section of the book by watching this video.
Especially take notice of the expression louds and softs (such as starting at 1:07), the perfect percussion response (especially the snare drum, which can be difficult to get right), and the voicing and balance of the pipes relative to the piano. The Fiberskyn drum heads are a nice touch.
WOW!! I smiled all the way through this! Not only is the restoration of the machine flawless, but the video quality and editing precision make it among the best orchestrion clips on YouTube, if not THE best. Watch the music roll and the percussions-- the video editing is perfectly timed. That's not easy to do. Congratulations guys! It's really beautiful!!
Completely awesome Art, you're the best, love this machine

Nice work. What a great version of this song. My family used to have a player piano and we loved playing Barney Google on it.

Thanks for taking me up on watching this video, Tom. I agree it is a 5 Star restoration. It couldn't be any closer to its original self.
