instead of hiding the items all you have to do is go to the task manager and go to the processes tab find the process explorer.exe and stop end the process... to start it back up just go back into the task manager through Ctrl+Alt+Del and once in task manager go to processes tab then click FILE then New task (run) and in the window that appears type explorer.exe
