I don't really understand what's with all the dark skinned people wandering around on the island. Can someone please tell me? Good movie, but it's just awkward with random black people wandering around, and I'm not being racist because why would AFRICAN (or African-American's) be wandering around on Guadalcanal in the Pacific?

Really great war movie. One of the best ever made. It can be challenging to watch for some. What really bothered me was the guy who made it - Terence Malick. I heard he was a huge douchebag while making this movie.

The thing i love about this movie is that it escapes the romance that hollywood puts into war movies and shows u the reality of wars like this. Good Movie =]
