Yes, Deus Ex IS the best game ever. However most people don't realize that until they actually finished it. If you try it out initially, you just see a FPS with terrible aim and way too little ammo. The you realize you don't even need a gun to win, and off you go.
If you've never played Deus Ex, look it up now. It is the greatest game ever made. If you can get past crappy graphics, I advise you to try and get a copy online.
...this better be as good or better than the original. im worried about square enix and what part they played in this to be fair..even if its just promotion it may indirectly force the developers to tone down certain aspects, look what the enix merge did to the ff series, (advert with a wailing cow singing about a Honda civic). however if Sakaguchi was still at square........and he were to be on the development team for this...then maybe something beautiful would occur

Deus ex 1? The plot is about the near future around 2040, its a somewhat dark future with a plague virus, terrorism some mutants and world domination conspiracies. It is a very convincing well presented cyber punk plot and has a dedicated fanbase
The gameplay is an FPS/RPG hybrid, you have several guns and shooting things, but also inventory, conversations, money, skills, augmentations (powers), decisions and stealth stuff.
If you never played it i recommend you get it for your pc.
Deus Ex 3 will feature smarter AI opponents, with squads centered around a squad leader. Cover will play an important role in the game, as well cybernetic abilities. Jensen will have X-ray vision, as well as the ability to do "multi-kills", which let him eliminate three to four enemies quickly. He also the ability to shoot wires out of his hand, which he can use to grapple to the sides of buildings.
The game will rely less on RPG statistics and be more of an action game.
They have four choices: stick with what made Deus Ex 1 the best game ever and build on it.
Or
Another DX2 repeat; with dumbed down gameplay, story etc for the mass console market.
Or
DX2 but in fear of poor sales create a game design version of frankenstein with features of other games stitched onto it. Then touch it up with some makeup fired from a paintball gun at point blank and send it off to the market with some razzle dazzle exclusive reviews.

Yeah, to be honest I think DX2 wasn't even suposed to be made, after all a difrent company made the game for XBOX and PC. Yet the storyline was ok, but yeah DX1 still beats it.

The first is by far one of my favorite games to this day playing it more then I can count., even the second I may play again. JC's UNATCO Password without looking it up GO! I'm looking forward to an FPSRPG like the first with where I can collect upgrade, modify weapons or whatnot, as well as changeable story lines depending on choices. I'm not to fond of there claim of a 'cover system' but I guess i'm old-school, we'll see. All things considered if your not looking forward to it, you'r a fool.
i just like listening to the music sound track , if the previous games werent as what everyone was expecting. the multi player 'fan made maps' were always a hoot to play. i hope this ones got multi-player written all over it...
I am going to be optimistic and say that the changes they make a better game. I do hope they keep the RPG elements and inventory system. i thought it made rainbow six vegas awesome, but rainbow six vegas was a tactical shooter focused on combat, Deus Ex is an RPG. i recently got into the first game and im loving it, but from what i gather this one is going to be another cheap COD ripoff as far as controls go (regenerating health system wtf?) and will be completely dumbed down, i also heard they are reducing the skills into 4 categories. :p
Good trailer idea but the choice of narrator = major fail. That hollywood trailer voice is so old by now, it's comedic. It saps the coolness out of anything...
It failed hard in comparison to the first Deus Ex, however, even though the game as a whole flopped, there were elements of it that I truly admired. NG Resonance, Queequeg's/Peequod's Coffee War, and the events prior to the end of the game . The 'Deus Ex Diehard' in me ended up enjoying the game for what it was, even though it could've been much more.
Sadly it sounds like DX3 is going the same way as many games these days - third person cover system, automatic regenerating health are in. And a comment by the lead developer - 'Deus Ex was kinda slow...'
DX3 should be like Fallout 3 but with Cyberpunk atmosphere. Huge urban environments instead of wastelands, sharp technology, shining neon lights, roleplaying immersion similar to the one in DX1 but even bigger (including the split narration among papers, books, e-mails, branching stories), character personalization and a lot of different tactics to accomplish a mission. Oh, by the way, this'll be a prequel, so no nanoaugmented agents, but mechs (like Navarre or Gunther).
...and base jumping and it should be a sandbox with pikachu-tailed zombies and space-travel genades, and green waterfalls with dead bodies and lots of explosive material. and you should have a sidekick named Jack Bauer It should also have multiplayer... lots of multiplayer and hookers. (But should its name be "Deus Ex"?) Hopefully you're not a game designer...
And you failed to answer the question - what would you do with the game?
Everything Astro88 said was in line with what Deus Ex is, what is wrong with the Fallout 3 comparison? He means that the world should be structured like that, he doesn't want super mutants, vaults and Enclave soldiers. Read and think before you post.
@9DarkSoul6 His statement is totally fine if you read the whole post he is taking specific elements from fallout 3 that where somewhat present in DX1 anyway and saying he wants more of those.. IE Bigger Levels, More Immersive Enviroments, Deeper RPG Immersion, All things that wold Improve DX

Deus Ex recieved near universal positive acclaim, it won tons of awards, it was in numerous top game lists, the game kicks ass.

The first is by far one of my favorite games to this day playing it more then I can count., even the second I may play again. JC's UNATCO Password without looking it up GO! I'm looking forward to an FPSRPG like the first with where I can collect upgrade, modify weapons or whatnot, as well as changeable story lines depending on choices. I'm not to fond of there claim of a 'cover system' but I guess i'm old-school, we'll see. All things considered if your not looking forward to it, you'r a fool.

i just like listening to the music sound track , if the previous games werent as what everyone was expecting. the multi player 'fan made maps' were always a hoot to play. i hope this ones got multi-player written all over it...

I am going to be optimistic and say that the changes they make a better game. I do hope they keep the RPG elements and inventory system. To the people bitching about the trailer: Are the high production values a bad thing? Think of the voice acting in the original. You /cannot/ tell me that it was anything resembling good :/

i thought it made rainbow six vegas awesome, but rainbow six vegas was a tactical shooter focused on combat, Deus Ex is an RPG. i recently got into the first game and im loving it, but from what i gather this one is going to be another cheap COD ripoff as far as controls go (regenerating health system wtf?) and will be completely dumbed down, i also heard they are reducing the skills into 4 categories. :p

It failed hard in comparison to the first Deus Ex, however, even though the game as a whole flopped, there were elements of it that I truly admired. NG Resonance, Queequeg's/Peequod's Coffee War, and the events prior to the end of the game . The 'Deus Ex Diehard' in me ended up enjoying the game for what it was, even though it could've been much more.

Sadly it sounds like DX3 is going the same way as many games these days - third person cover system, automatic regenerating health are in. And a comment by the lead developer - 'Deus Ex was kinda slow...'

DX3 should be like Fallout 3 but with Cyberpunk atmosphere. Huge urban environments instead of wastelands, sharp technology, shining neon lights, roleplaying immersion similar to the one in DX1 but even bigger (including the split narration among papers, books, e-mails, branching stories), character personalization and a lot of different tactics to accomplish a mission. Oh, by the way, this'll be a prequel, so no nanoaugmented agents, but mechs (like Navarre or Gunther).

Everything Astro88 said was in line with what Deus Ex is, what is wrong with the Fallout 3 comparison? He means that the world should be structured like that, he doesn't want super mutants, vaults and Enclave soldiers. Read and think before you post.

@9DarkSoul6 His statement is totally fine if you read the whole post he is taking specific elements from fallout 3 that where somewhat present in DX1 anyway and saying he wants more of those.. IE Bigger Levels, More Immersive Enviroments, Deeper RPG Immersion, All things that wold Improve DX
