  • I may be wrong but I always thought that Kayla resented the fact that Steve was the one that was so ill after the transplant while Jack was getting better so quickly.

  • Actually, Steve did know that Jack had raped Kayla at this point. That's why they got into the fight which caused Jack to fall from the roof and Steve to wind up donating his kidney to save him.
