Hi, thanks for the comments. Let's make one thing clear, this clip is about an incident that I witnessed, I was was just capturing a TOTALLY PEACEFUL protest when the incident developed - Not good to generalize, not all cops are abusers & not all protesters are so called trouble-makers AND this still is the USA, question is: 4 how long yet if nobody exercises their rights as some sheeple would like it to be?
@anubethc45, Oh my God!!! You are exactly what the cops want the public to be, and the reason the people of this nation are quickly loosing all their rights. Yo are officially one of the Sheeple. I bet you believe the media too...
as is often the case in protests, it appears pretty clear, in the beginning of the clip, that it was a couple of cops who turned things physically aggressive in response to verbal remarks. yet another case of unnecessary and excessive force.
In that case my course of action is always to allow them to arrest me and get my day in court (with council).
You have to have the nerve to risk a night in jail now days if you want to protect your rights in the "New U.S.A".
The description for this video is clearly incorrect and is phrased as if it is a liberal statement. The cops where acting correctly when trying to move non violent protesters out off the way of oncoming traffic. So the protresters were putting them selves and the SFPD in harms way, so when the protesters refused to take themselves out of harms way the SFPD were forced to act with physical force to ensure the safety of all peoples in the direct area
what gets me is that people think it's ok to automatically respect someone based on absolutely nothing at all. if some guy tried to take my kid away, i would kick the hell off. and if his mates who all dressed exactly the same yelled at me to move back, i would go to the police. oh wait a minute, it IS the police.
What gets me is that they are trained on how to act in stressful situations and not to react, as it is often the case and sadly, in far too many instances, with fatal consequences - They are supposed to be professionals for heaven's sake!
The situation was under control and it was they who lost it in the worst of circumstances, in the middle of a large crowd, where calmness and composure are the best emotions to have.
Watching this as a parent, I would never allow my child to mouth off to anyone. Being a parent I have taught my children that they need to show the respect that everyone deserves. I do agree with the anti-war actions but bringing a child to a protest, come on it can get out of hand sometimes.
I didn't know that the child 'mouthed off to anyone", and while I agree that sometimes the police and, at times, some protesters do over react, I also think that witnessing the right to assemble and to free expression is a great lesson for children to learn about their country and it's Constitution, a Civics lesson in practice.
Sorry I misread the description. I definitely agree with you, it is an excellent lesson to be able to show a child but maybe when the child is a little older. I would not like to get caught in anything that can harm my child and me.
Yeah, I hear you, however, while there have been physical confrontations during protests, 4 the most part R peaceful, I hope this is the case in the future, we have a right 2 peacefully assemble, not 2 engage in violence.
In my book, anyone who says is shoulder to shoulder with me, advocates or engages in violence, that person is not my ally, much less my friend. He/She is not helping the cause I'm peacefully advocating 4.
Still, as parents, we feel the need to protect them, as it should be.
In a lawbook, it actually says that you can mouth off a police officer as long as you don't touch him, and that police officer can't do anything. The police officers pushing at the crowd should not have done that. The crowd was actually listening to the cop by moving back, and then they go and push the people. Cruel. The cops here are prowar and any one who is hating on here. I do agree that we shouldn't hang outside and chanting. There are more private ways on getting a point across.
Minuscule protests like these don't make a dent -- million-man marches do. These are just stupid wastes of time.
And my apathy keeps me from harm at others' expenses. I'm happy with the way things are for me and there's no reason for me to risk anything for the sake of others.
You don't like it? Then protest my right to do nothing -- it's just as valid as your right to bitch.
You losers need to stop bringing your twisted ideals to SF. Get a job, stop smoking pot and find something constructive to do with your time. You idiots that go around chanting and starting shit waste everyones time and make no positive difference. If you die tomorrow, you'll just be remembered as that jackass that was cursing at some protest.
Kids bitch and cry. Do something positive. You think you are but you only look like idiots, and everyone hates seeing you out there!
Your not losing any rights. You live in one of the best countries. If freedom of speech to you means chanting, "fuck the police," then your interpretation of that right is severly twisted. Go to Mexico and pull that bullshit and watch what happens. The founders of the Constitution did not have the jackasses in that video doing what they were doing in mind. The problems is that people like you twist things to validate your meaningless efforts.
I was there to protest an invasion and occupation, time & facts proven us right to oppose it, I took video & didn't do anything like inciting riot
U said UR conservative, real conservatives are not delusional, lately I've seen self-identified conservatives who are anything but... I can say the same about the most visible Republicans, they are not Real Republicans either.
One of the males been in their homes all of them thinks he looks like him the cop in the canal from california oversized round eyes brown and dark hair grew it out dont look like him okay you just dont look like california cops at all none of them here either just do not look like them at all he learned karate to tear childrens heads off arrested under cops name assumed identities taking over the world for sodomy cops were arrested
In florida a police officer another one black hair and long wavey and really small black eyes and perfectly round 400 e sheridan rd. melbourne florida went to prison no clothes no police car no money no identification no badge no photos in a bag head arms and legs in a canal in palm bay flroida he was attacked think their cops being replaced by offenders drug into a shower pornographed and cut him in half with a blade rembrandt street
You are an educated idiot...your video clearly shows the SFPD officer getting surrounded by the protestors because the boy was being detained. What you fail to comment on is the fact that the boy and his trouble maker friends had bags of rocks and sling shots. That isn't a peaceful protest to me...that is the problem with people like you...you bitch when the cops don't do their job, and you bitch when they do...I am all for a peaceful protest but don't make the police out to be the bad guys
Could you direct me to the police report on 'rocks & sling shots' please? One out of line boy does not make a protest violent, it was a peaceful one. The problem was that the police initially decided not to arrest the boy, trouble started when the Officer decided to move in changing the apparent arrangement, knowing full well the effect this could cause. He didn't have to arrest the boy, we could have handled it, protesters who engage in violence, are not helping us, we don't want them among us.
'as a conservative who What? As a liberal I backed up, I also respect cops, they are there '2 protect & 2 serve', theyre our employees but when they abuse their power, IT IS OUR DUTY AND PRERROGATIVE to call them on and stop it, I was filming & in one of the clips I shot " Volunteer asks cops 4 donations", youll hear 'I'm back, I'm back, I'm back', that was me in response to a cop with a baton ready to strike me, I was well back, I had seen how they were hitting people indiscriminately
The policw is always right? I am sure you would been happy under Saddam Hussein! I am absolutely shocked by how little you think about preserving your hard earned rights!
What is you government doing in Iraq,Somalia, Hiati, Afghanistan and Palestine is making an ass out of international legality and you are worried about a ten year old boy who in the confusion took a step the wrong way!
& you Glyvxx, why don't go to live in North Korea? I am sure you will be happy there.
I'm sure the police had a reason for what they did and I don't see anything unfair going on. They took the action they thought necessary.

Why would anyone bring their 9-year-old boy to a protest? That's a bit vacuous.
Anyhow, this is why I respect the police and don't challenge their authority... because, when it comes down to it, I have none.
It's not like these protests do jack shit anyway.

It is people like you who defeat the best interests of the American people by your apathy.
