Let's make one thing clear, this clip is about an incident that I witnessed, I was was just capturing a TOTALLY PEACEFUL protest when the incident developed - Not good to generalize, not all cops are abusers & not all protesters are so called trouble-makers AND this still is the USA, question is: 4 how long yet if nobody exercises their rights as some sheeple would like it to be?

as is often the case in protests, it appears pretty clear, in the beginning of the clip, that it was a couple of cops who turned things physically aggressive in response to verbal remarks. yet another case of unnecessary and excessive force.

In that case my course of action is always to allow them to arrest me and get my day in court (with council).

You have to have the nerve to risk a night in jail now days if you want to protect your rights in the "New U.S.A".

The description for this video is clearly incorrect and is phrased as if it is a liberal statement. The cops where acting correctly when trying to move non violent protesters out off the way of oncoming traffic. So the protresters were putting them selves and the SFPD in harms way, so when the protesters refused to take themselves out of harms way the SFPD were forced to act with physical force to ensure the safety of all peoples in the direct area

What gets me is that they are trained on how to act in stressful situations and not to react, as it is often the case and sadly, in far too many instances, with fatal consequences - They are supposed to be professionals for heaven's sake!

The situation was under control and it was they who lost it in the worst of circumstances, in the middle of a large crowd, where calmness and composure are the best emotions to have.

Watching this as a parent, I would never allow my child to mouth off to anyone. Being a parent I have taught my children that they need to show the respect that everyone deserves. I do agree with the anti-war actions but bringing a child to a protest, come on it can get out of hand sometimes.

I didn't know that the child 'mouthed off to anyone", and while I agree that sometimes the police and, at times, some protesters do over react, I also think that witnessing the right to assemble and to free expression is a great lesson for children to learn about their country and it's Constitution, a Civics lesson in practice.

Sorry I misread the description. I definitely agree with you, it is an excellent lesson to be able to show a child but maybe when the child is a little older. I would not like to get caught in anything that can harm my child and me.

Yeah, I hear you, however, while there have been physical confrontations during protests, 4 the most part R peaceful, I hope this is the case in the future, we have a right 2 peacefully assemble, not 2 engage in violence.

In my book, anyone who says is shoulder to shoulder with me, advocates or engages in violence, that person is not my ally, much less my friend. He/She is not helping the cause I'm peacefully advocating 4.

Still, as parents, we feel the need to protect them, as it should be.

In a lawbook, it actually says that you can mouth off a police officer as long as you don't touch him, and that police officer can't do anything. The police officers pushing at the crowd should not have done that. The crowd was actually listening to the cop by moving back, and then they go and push the people. Cruel. The cops here are prowar and any one who is hating on here. I do agree that we shouldn't hang outside and chanting. There are more private ways on getting a point across.

Could you direct me to the police report on 'rocks & sling shots' please? One out of line boy does not make a protest violent, it was a peaceful one. The problem was that the police initially decided not to arrest the boy, trouble started when the Officer decided to move in changing the apparent arrangement, knowing full well the effect this could cause. He didn't have to arrest the boy, we could have handled it, protesters who engage in violence, are not helping us, we don't want them among us.
