@ZakobYoa That's not entirely true. Schweitzerdeutsch counts as an own language. For instance I as an Austrian don't understand jack when two people talk in 'Schwizerdütsch'.

@ZakobYoa Also Kölsch ist ein Dialekt der sehr nahe an der Hochsprache liegt. Schwizerdütsch ist etwas ganz anderes (verwechsle es aber nicht mit einem Schweizer Akzent, den Schweizer haben, wenn sie Standard reden).

@Agatheos Schwizerdütsch is a dialect not a language, just accept it, it's the truth. ^^ I hardly understand people from small villages in East-Germany or Bavaria, yet they still speak German. (I also have no idea, why I am talking to you in English and not in German.)

In addition to French and Italian there are also two languages that are spoken exclusively in Switzerland. One is Swiss-German which most people in Switzerland speak (and most Germans don't understand) and the other one is Romansh.

Das sind deswegen noch keine anderen Sprachen.
