  • Negative camber means the car will run on the edges when going straight, but when cornering the weight shifts towards the outer tire and the entire tire makes contact with the ground giving better traction while cornering.

    when you have negative camber on the front tires, it will corner on rails.. but going straight at a hgih speed is almsot impossible. take that thing on a highway = good luck.

  • Your half right. The 240sx engine has the potential for more torque per hp. The engine is actually weaker....but it has more potential if you decide to build it than the SR20.

  • CaviMike thinks he reallys knows alot about S13's, thing is this could darn well be a 97 because the 180SX Type X was produced till late in the nineties (w/ S13 chassis), at the same time they had the S14.

    One question though, the originals 180SX had the CA18DET engine, while the silvia's or 200SX had the 2.0 SR20DET and 240SX had the 2.4 KA24DE. Since this is a 180SX, does it mean it still had a CA18DET or did they strap them with SR20DET anyways ?

  • 97(ish)???! The S13's last production year was 1993. And for the idiot that asked which car is better, the S13 or the 240SX, they are the same car. S13 is just the chassis code for the 1989-1993 180/200/240SX. Depending on which country you lived in, it had a different name. Now you know.

  • Aside from the engines, and the front facia and headlights on the notchbacks, theyre essentially the exact same car. But the Japanese S13 notchback looks so much better than the 240. :)

  • Im dont think that even 1/100th the people on here know wtf they are talking about, The driver in this video (Koguchi) is a D1 driver and one of the best drivers out there next to kazama, taniguchi, nomuken, he is way good and even tho he spun who cares he was just on a practice run. so unless your better, dont try to talk him down.

  • The driver in this video (Koguchi) runs on his s13 -4degrees in the back and -3.5 degrees camber in the front. it will kill your tires but if your sponsered who cares.

  • When drifting with stock cars, you usually HAVE to use the E-brake. But it's not how the pros really do it, they just soup up their RWD cars and punch it, whip the car left or right, and let the rear driven wheels loose grip.

    In the pro world, it's usually done with power, no brakes or anything of the sort.

    I do hate when those stupid HS kids grab their parents cars and try it out on suburban streets, though.

  • You can use e-brake, but it's not necessarly required. You use it if it feels like your going under or if you turned in too late and you want it to slide more to hit the right apex. You also don't need $400 on buying tires cus $100 will do. The "Real" drifting you guys are referring to is the inertia drifting which is also known as the dynamic drifting where you don't use excessive brakes or the e-brake. It's done through the weight transfer and letting of the throttle.

  • Listen to this guy people he knows drifting. I dont think there is real drifting or fake, theres only technique. My car weights almost 1,800 pounds I need to use e-brake in order to get into sliding then use power over to exit the corner. When I was reading I was ROLFMAO, people watch too much video w/o any experience in drifting. Besides drifitng is a sport it was perfected on the mountain passes but always existed from the beging of Rally racing.

  • You don't necessarily need the e-brake to drift, notice the guy in the vid doesn't really use it, he uses his brakes more. BUt when you use the e-brake you get a better slide most of the time...and for Jdog, you've used that same comment for like, every drifting video on this site...don't be made cuz your mama's car sucks so bad it won't go past forty.

    Damn fine car, and notice when its in the interior view, he hardly pulls it? maybe you're mistaking the stick shift for the brake lever. And the E brake is essential to keep the car in a nice and even angle.
