@TheDigitGuide There is no comparison between the games this is an atmospheric dark fantasy with an emphasis on difficulty and getting into your head and skyrim is a more light hearted open world fantasy with emphasis on exploration and questing. They are both good stop clambering for thumbs.

God damn it's depressing to see so many people thinking this game has no story.
If people took the time to explore, talk and listen to NPCs and read item descriptions, they would realize the story is actually quite rich, detailed and interesting.
Instead we get people spouting 'DURR I DIDN'T EVEN KNEW THIS GAME HAD A STORY'.
Nothing like the rage of being beaten down over and over again, not knowing what the hell you are supposed to do, wondering how you are gonna get fucked up around the next corner, having some asshole invade your world to kill you and impede your progress..... and then overcoming it.... You need to have an iron will to play this game, but I assure you the first playthrough of this game is like someone takes a big ass hypodermic needle full of adrenaline and jabs it right into your heart.
@nickizgr8 having played both.... I would say Demon Soul had it's moments like trying to melee flame lurker or the man eaters.... but over all Dark Souls definitely more difficult, seeing as it still fuck me up despite the fact I understood the mechanics of how Demon Souls worked and they translated it to this game and I still got fucked up bad by it.
@Kaous10 Imo darks souls seems hard just because you can't have loads of health items and if you want to refill your estus it respawns all the enmies making it sometimes a bitch to get to the bosses most of the bosses in this game are easy compared to demon's souls bosses most required a cheap method to beat them without having to retry over 30 times i mean flame lurker on new game+++++ was just unbearable even with blue phantoms helping
@Kaous10 what i usually do when i get invaded and killed is to turn human again at the bonfire, spam dried finger and bum rush them at spawn point everytime they invade. and its usually funnier when u have op lightning weapon too.

I get confused as to where Im going than getting my ass kicked but normally everytime I get lost in the forest I end up getting my ass kicked by the giant metal knights :P

Also, I believe the gaping dragon is indeed a dragon (Despite it very possibly being a result of multiple dragon in-breedings) because the weapon it gives you is the DRAGONking great-axe, as opposed to receiving a weapon such as a DRAKE sword from the HellKyte.
Demon's Souls: presence of the Old One and therefore the Soul arts is ruining life, be greedy and become the next demon or send it away.

If theres on thing that this game has different than skyrim it's going to be the difficulty and how damn rewarding it will be beating a giant pain in the ass dragon.

@Wil14 I thought that was kind of funny too, but they consider drakes and the gaping dragon to be distant relatives of real dragons. The only real dragon (alive that is) is the stone dragon in ash lake and seeth the scaleless.

Also, I believe the gaping dragon is indeed a dragon (Despite it very possibly being a result of multiple dragon in-breedings) because the weapon it gives you is the DRAGONking great-axe, as opposed to receiving a weapon such as a DRAKE sword from the HellKyte.

It does have a similar plot to Demon's Souls.
Demon's Souls: presence of the Old One and therefore the Soul arts is ruining life, be greedy and become the next demon or send it away.
Dark Souls: the age of fire(/gods) and therefore bonfires are ruining life, be ignorant and keep the bonfires going, or end the age of fire and progress into the age of man.
Life is bad, you have the choice to continue making it worse, or change it. That's the basic plot of both games.
