I've thought this over & it seems clear now that the top of the buildings above the burning floors below had significant weight but the building was designed to stand in the case of fire. The building would not fall from the weight pressing down on it from above, because the untouched floors below the fire were sturdy. If anything the floors above the fire may have buckled over, not straight down!

@alfulani5 you have no idea what your talking about, firstly it wasnt done by a "GUY IN A HOLE" and secondly intense heat can weaken steel which is why it took time for the building to collapse, so with the combination of the steel being damaged from the crash it also weakend from the intense heat causing the building to collapse and from the weight and inertia from the other floors is what made the whole thing go down.
