this is no where near the most effective way to get coins. Make a stage with spikes, walls on all sides, and a falling block above. Hop on the falling block and stay on the spikes until the falling block reappeares, sending you off the spikes multiple times per second and granting you hundreds in no time at all. Makke sure items are turned off so that one of them won't fall on the block above you and make it dissappear. 999 combo hint: smart bombs. lots and lots of smart bombs.

Yes, easy. Just get something, like tape, and the A-button holds down. It keeps attacking, so you can move onto something more productive than playing 100 coin matches just to get this.

... You can earn 5000 coins faster if you just play normally. You're getting a few coins every second there, but if you fight a normal match, you earn larger amounts in the same time period. Using rapid slow attacks isn't going to get as much as using frequent strong attacks.

This video is just going to mislead people and slow down the process of coin collecting.

just make a stage that haz this:

1 block touching NOTHING ,but a middle/small floating platform on it's right to the right of that is 2 blocks along with a boxed-in area around the sides of it and spikes at top (add a fall through platform around the back)

then:

make a 5 min coin match with lots of hotheads and through 'em into the block/wall under the brick.

p2 should be stuck in the deadly ball of hotheads (use king dedede & minons) ill make vid response soon

I used a similar trick, build a custom stage, build a square with 7 blocks, and 1 platform at the bottom, now use this trick in that place, use bowser as victim, for he will take all the space in that small area, so he will get most coins. If you want 5000 coins fair, use iceclimbers. U always win coin matches, cuz when popo takes damage, nana picks up the coins, same goes for nana. So unless you suck very hard with ice climbers, u always win coin matches with them.

A faster way to get the combo challenge is to just detonate as many smart bombs as possible at one time next to the cpu. If you do it with 6 or so chars the combo total will be 400 at least.

Ok...put get three normal wall/box things and put one on top, left and right leaving a space in the middle. Then put a platform (the thing you can fall through) on the bottom...then pick Bowser (or some other big characters) and pick MK. Then get all of them in that Box and hold A with MK

A quick way to get 999 combos or 5000 coins (theoreticaly, haven't tried it with coins) is to make a custom stage with a one-way box (three walls are normal blocks, roof is falling blocks) , use Bowser and Lucario, and have both be in the box. Put Bowser against a wall, the have Lucario use Aura Sphere to hit him in an infinite combo.

i did sheik and bowser too, he gets stuck down there for alot longer. i don think it got me 999 combos but enough to clear the challenge

There are much easier ways, create your own Stage and make sure, that the com can´t escape. On this way you can get 5000 coins or 999 Combos much easier especially xou can make it that the oppenent can´t fly away to the right, to left, down or up. On this way many charcters can get 999 Combos as example Meta Knight, Donkey Kong and Shiek.
