  • I was kinda iffy about BF my son at 12 months but after i saw this i think ill keep feeding him till then hes about to turn 8 months in a couple of days and i do both i usually breast feed him during nap time and at night lol my son liam does the stroking thing now when did you stop BF your son?

  • @geekmagnet400 Breastfeeding is recommended for 2+ years. Most wean between 2-4 years. My son at age 28 months nurses about once every other week.

  • Do you nurse him skin2skin? cuz he is wanting to just play with your nipple and boob.

  • Breastfeeding is such a beautiful thing! My son is 12 months old and we are still going strong with BF!! =) <3

  • Breastfeeding is recommended for 2 years and longer. What kinds of MD doesn't know that? Have you never heard of the World Health Organization? Very strange.

  • omg its stroking the mother TOO CUTE FOR WORDS

  • Hi, i think your baby is adorable and i hope to one day have one of my own. However, i know i only have one PHD and i know that i am in fact a MD, but isn't breastfeeding only supposed to be done untill 6 months? your baby seems really healthy for any medical problems to beset that fact...just curious why you went about it for so long.

  • @unowen1987 A infant should be exclusively breastfed for a MINIMUM of 6 months and then continued to be breastfed for a MINIMUM of 1 year but is strongly urged 24 months. The majority of babies self wean between the ages of 2-4 years old. Extended breastfeeding has an overwhelming amount of benefits. A formula fed child switches to cows milk from 12-24 months old, a BF baby doesn't need cows milk, hence 24 months minimum.

  • he is adorable! i husband and I are trying for our 3rd child and I really want to breast feed this one. Question...are you also feeding in on a cup? I know they say you "should" start using a cup at 6-9 months...do you/how do you incorporate that with breast feeding?

  • @nickyworth25 It's really your own personal preferences as well as your baby. Some babies won't take BM from a cup, but only water/juice instead. Just depends. My son use to take it out of a cup but my pump broke so now he gets it straight from the tap only. Only drinks he gets in his cup is water.

  • MUY HERMOSO IS SO CUTE

  • i miss nursing :( It's still instinct to nurse him sometimes lol. I catch myself wanting to take a boob out.

  • @KyndraRenae haha boobs make it all better!

  • I love it! My son was doing exactly the same with his hand, it is so cute....

  • @mariesara Cute till ur rubbed raw, ha

  • Congrats on going strong at 12 months, I hope to be at 12 months with my daughter and even longer than that!!

  • @Lovesenduringpromise Good Luck! My goal is 18 months, then we'll go from there. I don't plan on weaning just b/c he turned 18 months (when that day comes either)

  • That sound is that your milk coming down? Mine is not that strong anymore.. Although I am pregnant and my 11 month ol does not nurse as long as she used too.. WOW thats a let down if that is what I am hearing!!

  • @drillsgtclark When he's gulping? I still have a big supply....so probably. I'd have to watch it back to pay attention. My pump broke after I sent off the 3rd pump for that contest I had a while back :( So now I AM pumpless! what the crud? lol newho so now if he wants it, it has to be straight from the tap and my supply is way up, b/c he's nursing like crazy.

  • I'm still breastfeeding my 1 year old son too, and have similar problems where he fidgets a LOT (lifts his bum up in the air and walks up my body) and pinches and squeezes my arm really hard.

I think it might be partly boredom, maybe the milk doesn't come out fast enough. It's really annoying! (and painful)

I have started to take him off when he does this, but it doesn't seem to be sinking in yet :\

  • @mebirdo 1 year old are just stubborn! lol

  • Awe seeing this brings back memories of when I nursed all 4 of my boys (nursed thru 2 pregnancies too). I nursed my last 2 till they were 26 months. Good for you, to keep going!

  • how long do you plan to breastfeed for?

  • @kookaiiz He'll self wean when he's ready.

  • its like he progressed from rubbing his hair to rubbing/grabbing your boob.

  • @christellevecchio haha i guess so!

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx haha i have to say "good job mummy!" i wish i could breastfeed for that long, the most i could breastfeed is 5mths! Ive noticed alot of mums now days tadem feed, did you ever consider it?

  • @christellevecchio I would, but Jacelyn was well over breastfeeding & breast milk by the time he was born. She thought it was "gross" to even get the milk in a cup....although when he was about 2 months old she asked to nurse and it weirded me out b/c she had gone so long w/ out nursing. I just redirected her attention to something else. She might have just been confused. I offered it to her in a cup that day and she said no gross.

  • Great Job Mama! i plan to let my son self wean too :-) He's almost 11 months

  • @malona23 It's a gentle approach I'm sure they'll prefer :)

  • I nursed my daughter until she was 15 months and she would still do all of these things. :) I miss those special moments! Cant wait to go through all this again with number 2.

  • @SummerAWinter awwwwe! He'll b 14 months on the 17th & i dont see him quitting anytime soon. I hope not, I'd miss it too!

  • @LoveABabytoday Happy Belated Birthday :) My son is nursing a lot too still.

  • How funny!

  • @ruthfv123 He's a happy boobie baby

  • I have an almost 10 month old and he's into pulling my shirt off in public :( he knows where milk comes from and how to get it. Tonight after nursing him he waved bye-bye to me because he wanted to go to bed. Kids are so funny. How many times a day are you nursing?

  • @AbbeyDiG Yep, he was pulling at my today at BB&B. haha that's cute *waved bye*. B/c I dont have a pump, he has to get it straight from the tap 24/7 now he's nursing like a 6 month old infant, all day & night still.

  • You need a MN for him to twiddle with while eating!

  • @dixietheOKIE We have a few! ALTHOUGH my biggest issue w/ those (which I LOVE LOVE LOVE) is I never know where they are!!!!!!! Jacelyn is addicted to them, and I don't mind her playing & wearing them b/c they are so kid tough and have a warranty. She runs off w/ them and hides them from me, haha I just need more, that's all :)

  • Haha! It's sweet how innocent he is. I have a nine month old who likes to kick and pull my hair while he nurses. I can't use a cover anymore, he just pulls it off. :)

  • @flicks26 Yep, it's a rare chance we can use our cover, but his head is big enough almost to cover me up, at least it's big enough to cover up enough that other's don't even notice what's going on.

  • Its kinda like he's trying to make sure the other one is still there in case he's not finished lol

  • @renct519 hahaha he does that in the tub or when I'm changing, he goes back n forth

  • matt does that already at 6 months, and he also squeezes my boob constantly, idk if hes trying to make the milk come out faster? haha... and since a little nosey body he pulls of my nipple really hard when he hears something interesting. OUCHHH! LOL

  • @vickywog Lol I've wondered that too (faster) b/c Kacen has does that as well. UGH when they pull off or fall asleep and drag their teeth, JFKS:LDJFLK:SD: is what I want to yell, haha

  • My daughter is 10 months and has never shown any interest in the other nipple but she likes to pull off and yank on the one she's on all the time. When she's teething, she bites hard, clamps down and scrapes which is fun...she twirls my hair when she's falling asleep though. That makes up for all the pain :)

  • @AmyLizz haha she's focused and not distracted then. Does she have a 'favorite'? The scraping is so painful! The hair twirling is cute. I'm so sensitive w/ the hair around my face, I dunno what it is, but b/c it's so sensitive there I can't stand for it to be touch. The back I'm not though....hard headed.

  • that was cracking me up!! my daughter would do the same!! it made me a little sad to see this video bc i miss nursing! :( she is 13 months and decided on her own a couple of weeks ago to stop. i miss it so much..but every day when she sits in my lap and drink her bottle of milk she will still try and pinch or pull!

  • @xalexandchrisx Awww I couldn't imagine Kacen stopping now, Gosh he nurses like a 6 month old infant still!

  • My 12 month old does. Madilyn does it at nearly every nursing session. I feel your pain Lucy. Literally.

  • @Ajsproudparents OMG, Madilyn is 12 months now??? I remember when you were TTC w/ her, and it's been 12 months already? Gosh....flew by

  • Girl you just need to go on and put that in a sippy cup and call it a day..lol

  • @IvnTee07 Pump broke...it broke the day I sent off the last pump for that contest I held :( Talk about bad timing.

  • It's almost like he's trying to bring down the milk for you. That way it's not so hard for him to drink! lol That's cute! Probley the only time you can get his to "almost" stay still! I can't wait to have that type of bond with our baby! Your lucky in a way Lucy. He's a precious baby!

  • @shannorah He doesn't try.....HE DOES, haha. Thanks!

  • oh my goodness it's so annoying haha. henry reaches down my shirt, or up it, to pinch my other nipple while nursing! i try to stop him and he gets so mad!

  • @Humbily Yesssssssssss! the rubbing raw & pinching is the worst

  • My 11 month old daughter like to smack my face and poke at my face while nursing...

  • @HoneymoonBaby09 kace does that too but mostly likes poking his fingers in my mouth

  • I know this is annoying to you...but...haha this cracks me up! Eddie's annoying nursing habbit at 7 months old is un-latching every two seconds to look around the room which causes breastmilk to go streaming down my stomach OR all over his face. Ahhh the joys:)

  • @staciamisty hahah hate the mess they can create. u need to see the new movie ; grown ups;, you will love it......especially after reading that comment

  • My son just turned 14 months old and he does that ALL the time..for the past few months. I sometimes give him a marker to hold before I start breastfeeding.

  • @LittleMrsMommy Kacen refuses everything else now

  • Both my kids used to do all the things you described above and these habits were very hard to get rid of ,even when they stopped nursing ( my son at 18 months ,my daughter a few months before her third birthday)...my son couldn't fall asleep unless he touched my breast..(wherever we were),.a habbit he had to quit when his sister was born..lol..but I think the most annoying thing they both did was lifting up my blouse while they were nursing...they hated having the fabric close to their faces!

  • @matina243 Awww guess it's just soothing?

  • I find that so cute.

  • @kkmomyful thanks

  • Ok, I am not much help but I think that was the cutest thing. His little hands are too adorable!!

  • @trink5 Lol Thanks!

  • ABSOLUTELY!!!! My daughter is almost 8 months & does this at almost every feeding. It drives me nuts, esp. when it's grinding my other nipple between her sharp evergrowing nails!

  • @kellybratt Yes I've learned VERY quickly keep nails SHORT! ha

  • My 5 month old already does that! I hate it.

  • @Mamafoofoobear lol awww

  • Yes! My son will be one on July 7th, and he does the exact same thing. It makes me so sore. He's always kneaded my skin and touched my face, but this is a new phase...he also uses his teeth a lot now...another ouch! Does your son still wake you at night to nurse? Mine was down to once a night, but now hes back to 3! And he's back to staying up for a while after nursing. I just wonder when night nursing will stop and I can get some sleep!

  • @jillian5891 Comment below you has a daughter turning 1 the day before your son :) Cool. Happy Early Birthday!

  • My daughter will be 12 months on July 8th and does the SAME THINGS! She'll dance, pull at my other nipple, smack my other boob.....And we sometimes get in the bath together and she'll want to nurse....She'll go from one boob to the other! haha! It's gotten to the point I may have to stop baths together. lol! Just know, you aren't the only one being violated. :D

  • @TabMcgee Happy Early Birthday! The bath nursing is funny at first but if ur in a hurry annoying!

  • aww you poor thing!! i wish i had some advice but i only got to 3 months with mine (my milk dried up) do you have any advice for me on how to keep your supply up? baby #3 is due in 17 days and i plan to atleast do 6 months =]

  • @SimplementeMaravilla Supply by demand, so you have to demand as much supply as you want. Via babies mouth or pump. Congrats/Good Luck :)

  • soooo cute tho lol but heyy maybe hes just a boobie guy. he startin off early =P lol

  • @mahrysa12 hahaha maybe

  • may i ask, how often is he nursing now?? i know every baby is different but it'll give me an idea when my chubbers is a year

  • @shotmana I think he nurses way more than the average 1 year old, but he nurses 2-3 times during the night, and about 10 times during the day.

  • My son is 7 months & he does this, but to the breast that he's nursing off of only. I have bruises & scratches! lol Is Kacen no longer interested in your necklace? I cannot find anything to distract my son. Only thing that helps ME is to nurse in a dark quiet room, but obviously that just isn't possible to do that every time, lol. I guess it only gets worse, lol. I only nursed my daughter for a couple months, so this is all new to me :o)

  • @mrsmommy81 The skin there I swear bruises way worse/easier than any where else, the bruises just look awful (mine when I get them) Same fo ryou?

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Yes VERY easily *sigh* lol

  • He looks like he's petting you!! lol

  • @JenNTim509 lol he does uh?

  • i think its amazing you are still breastfeeding! good for you and for the little one!

  • @martusiail Thank You!

  • I only breastfed my daughter until she was 12 months, because she started to bite me soooo hard every time. When she first started to teeth at 3 months she started biting as well, but I was ok with that because i reeeeally wanted to breastfeed for one year. But when she was that old, i decided to stop, because she understood that it was wrong, but she did it and laughed sooo hard afterward:P

  • @TheAmericanDream25 My son laughed to after biting for about a month when he got his first tooth at 4 months, but he hasn't really done it since.

  • LOL

  • my youngest did that too playing with my nipples and then she wouldnt know what breast she wanted so it was like i am sitting there with no top on lolbut anyway so i started given her my hand and now she does it to my hand.... my now she stills try to nurse but i dont let her cause my new milk is trying to come in for the new baby

  • @jamilarabie OMG he does that too! It's like an all you can eat buffet they think!

  • Have you tried a nursing necklace? Something he can play with instead

  • @shantrues Yes we have a few actually, LOVE them, but my daughter thinks they are hers and hides them from me so they can be hard to find...i need more!

  • Perhaps pull him away from you and say "no, no!" in a really stern voice?

  • @beckoninglight16 I thought about doing that....but for some reason I feel guilty at the thought of it. Not sure why?

  • Oh man lol! My son does the whole wiggle thing, tries to stand while nursing, and tries to nurse every 30 minutes sometimes...but he hasn't started playing with the other one while eating! (Just tries to play when he unlatches) My son also thinks that it is ok to pull down my shirt at any moment during the day, and feed himself!

  • @rachg09890 The standing is so funny...they honestly think they can do flips while nursing. ha

  • He really loves rubbing you. He was sucking like a champ. Does it not hurt you with his teeth? has he bit you yet? I wonder when he'll come off on his own. I bet you'll not know what to do with yourself.

  • @ilovehandbags06 Nope, not at all. He has soon to be 12 teeth once they come threw all the way, on the prongs of the molars are out

  • my little brother was breast fed til he was 14 months. He would constantly squeeze my moms breast and hit them. It got so annoying she had to stop for a while

  • @sassycatdarn890 It can be very annoying! He'll be 14 months on the 17th and I don't think he'll stop anytime soon. I'm trying to teach him nursing manners...I don't plan on weaning him soon.

  • Wow that must be annoying LOL I only breast fed my second child and managed 6 months because I went back to work and couldn't pump enough bottles just out of inteest how long do you plan to breastfeed for ???

  • @tsujikicksass 6 months is good :) I plan on letting him self wean.

  • i know it may be annoying...but it looks soo cute lol..wish i could still breastfeed!

  • @jessblay20 It's cute when I'm not rubbed raw, lol

  • I don't think it's just with nursing, my son did the same thing when he was older when i breastfed him or when i would bottle feed him. But i only did that until 9 months. I just had to take his hand and just repeatedly tell him no hitting/yanking/pinching etc.. lol But he only did it to me, not anyone else who fed him a bottle. I think it's like a comfort thing? Like they are so relaxed or something? lol

  • @MelB0610 I think it might be comfort too!

  • Casey likes to push against my breast/chest with his hands while he nurses, and then pulls with his mouth so he's like stretching me out as far as he can...it's weird and kind of annoying. He also will try to grab my other one, but I distract him so he doesn't. He tries to put his fingers in my nose or poke my eyes, and we're working on that too. Silly boys!

  • @StyxLdy Awww Kace does that too! I dunno the purpose in it?

  • he looks like he is smothing himself too was he tired on the video? I still breastfeed my today big birthday boy one year old! I pump and give it to him by bottle

  • @cylla2006 I'd have to watch the vid back, but he does it all the time, tired or not. Happy Birthday to your son :)

  • lol awh

so many people I know can't breastfeed past 6-8 months because their child get's like this.

I'll consider it a job well done if I can do it from 0-6 months, anything after that is a plus I guess..

  • @ReillyAJ Good Luck

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx LOL thanks, appreciate it

  • Isabelle did that, too. And, she was a hair puller. Nothing else would keep her calm.

  • @TheAppieShow Oh the hair pulling OUCH! The hair up front (for me) I'm far more tender headed than I am in the back so even worse. R u hard headed?

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx Hard-headed...yes, but not in the way you are mentioning. haha! No, it hurts like a beast. And, since I nursed to 19 months, and she just turned two, it is still a habit she has when I am rocking her or if she is falling asleep.

  • @TheAppieShow hahaha well I think we're all a little hard headed that way ;)

  • It kinda looks like hes just trying to go to sleep. My daughter rubs her blanket between 2 fingers when shes going to sleep. She will not fall asleep without that blanket and shes 3 now. Sweet video.

  • @candsbroadway He does it constantly, sleepy or not. I use to do the same thing as your daughter w/ silk blankets, dunno y but only silk. It's very soothing!

  • My 8 month old does that same thing. He will rub his hand all over my chest while feeding and slap my chest the ENTIRE time. And then the most annoying part (b/c it hurts) is he will be eating and he will keep pulling his head so far back it hurts. A lot of the time he pulls it soo far back he lets go of the nipple and that hurts like crap b/c then he tries to grab it wit h his teeth when he feels it slipping out!! I am hoping he will grow out of it :)

  • @Jenniferaj072806 Don't they just beat on you like a monkey? :( Mys on grew out of that last part, Thank GOD! I told him no frequently though (which isn't working w/ this whole rubbing me raw thing now)

  • Carter does the same at 8 months. He constantly pulls/ rubs/ yanks. The mommy necklaces worked some but for some reason he prefers me.... It doesn't hurt all that much... just very uncomfortable and talk about ANNOYING!

  • @TiggerTube09 Guess its just that comforting 4 them?

  • LOL...I think he's going to be a boob man when he gets older!!!

  • @skylerzmom He already is! ha

  • Soo adorable! I'm feeding my daughter as I write this and she is doing similar things.. although her fave game is to come off and look around and go back on and get the poops when she's off and all this. It's insane! Why can't they just stay still!!!

  • @rachiibuu lol me, i rarely get computer time when hes not nursing

  • so cute!!!!!

  • @dannybabyable thanks!

  • actually w/o the yanking or pulling part, the massaging is so cute. lol my daughter does something similar and its sooooooo annoying and painful. Even if she doesnt have long nails she digs her fingers into the nipple she just drank out of ...liek for example when she's done, she'll lift herself up with the help of the nipple.. imagine how painful..

  • @paprichaat5 The massage is the annoying the part, he rubs my nipple raw!!!! It's soooooooooooooooo painful! That and his other than, the one you can't see, like cups/supports my boob, he'll kneed it like a cat does you when getting loved on but in the process he pinches me, like just a bit of my skin, the worst type of pinch you know.

  • @xxxjoelpolexxx I remember reading somewhere that babies sometimes do it to stimulate milk flow. I wonder how true that is.

  • @AmyLizz Really? It sure sounds accurate!!!! I could nurse him for a hour, then stand up, bend over to blow dry my hair or something and my boobs will be so full (from the let down of bending over) that they are hard as rocks, even though he nursed me dry.
