We (everyone) IMO should be using both terms. i believe there are two different orientations. romantic and sexual and they dont necessarily have to match. I personally am a homoromatic heterosexual. I think people need to start using both terms because they are just different things. so you sound like you would be a homoromantic homosexual.
The only problem with changing that, and turning the terms into romantic acts, you are taking the term away from the Asexual community, and you complicate it for others. (Like me) I am not bisexual, but i am biromantic... so that would complicate everything for me. However, i don't think there would be any problem being called a Homoromantic homosexual. (I'm a Biromantic heterosexual)
The problem with that is those terms already have a meaning and we'd be taking that away from asexuals who are hetero/homo/biromantic if we used those terms. It's a nice idea, but homoromantic and homosexual are two different things.
It's pretty hard to change the collective vocabulary. It didn't work so well with gender-neutral pronouns. Also, by this standard, people who feel platonic love for a friend of the same gender would be biromantic but heterosexual?
those shirts are awesome! seen them while browsing the internet before. and homoromantic, lol! i'll put it in a fb status. Sean is having a homoromantic evening w/ his boyfriend XD
Even when others think I am straight as most do, they shove their sexual acts and experiences down my throat as if I going to give them some type of trophy.
Even if it doesn't change their rhetoric, it will change ours. And homoromanticism better describes what's going on than homosexuality. We aren't having sex every minute of the day, but we are in a romantic relationship. And who knows what will or won't change? We'll never find out until we try.

not true. Platonic and Romantic are different things even when the element of sex is taken out.

Sex doesn't necessarily refer to intercourse. Sex can also mean gender.
I always thought of homosexual as using a different meaning of sexual.

I do wonder if it's possible to get the morons to stop thinking of only the sexual aspect. Would it really change much?

That's a great idea, and that shirt is...well you know it's genius. haha
I'm REALLY obsessive about word misrepresentations of any kind, so that just interested me.
