The TV coverage does not show the angle on this vid, so it is difficult to see whose arm knocks the ball out of the ruck. However, when the ball comes out of the ruck it hits Molitika and spins toward the Cardiff try line, Dusautoir gets his hand to it and knocks it on over the try line, regathers and grounds the ball. No try, scrum five, defending team put in.
The TV official can't rule on the ruck, he was asked if a try had been scored, yes or no.
On the TV report, they actually say that it is a player from Cardiff who touched the ball and thanks to the vid (it's the player who is circled on a picture). So in fact there is no forward pass and the try is good !
4] It cannot be a try, the 4th official said it was not!
You really need to try and look at ALL the camera angles, but then, you'll have no conspiracy to cling onto...
Look Staide Toulouse played well, both teams did, but in the end they scored less points than Cardiff, let it rest before you look foolish (If you want a copy of the WHOLE game let me know K :)
Leon we don't hate White, or even dislike him. To say he lied is a tad exaggerated to say the least. He was misinformed by the time keeper and the confusion caused resulted in that ending but, it is unlikely to have changed the result, for any Welshman to cling to that would be so, so sad.... Italy could well have been further ahead had other little things gone their way...
White did lie, he said we had time for the lineout. Then he changed his mind. The time keeper is not the arbiter of the game, the ref decides when time is up, he has the final say.
I don't mean he deliberately tried to fool us, but he did cock it up and he knows that because he apologised afterwards.
He apologisede because of the confusion, he had given the control of the timekeeping, as is common in pro games now, so he is reliant upon the timekeeper (you will note that the ref says 'time off then time on' this is for the timekeeper so that he can stop and start the game clock. ?The ref is still in control therefor of ensuring 80 mins game time... He did not do anything delibrately!!!
If he hadn't lied and told the players that there was not enough time, then jones would have gone on to kick that easy penalty abd drawn the game. Still the time keeper was a cunt because you could hear the glee in his voice calling full time when he misled white
The referee keeps the time but may delegate the duty to either or both the touch judges and/or the official time-keeper, in which case the referee signals to them any stoppage of time or time lost.
In matches without an official time-keeper, if the referee is in doubt as to the correct time the referee consults either or both the touch judges and may consult others but only if the touch judges cannot help.
Every match is under the control of Match Officials who consist of the Referee and two Touch Judges. Additional persons, as
authorised by the match organisers may include the referee and/or reserve touch judge, an official to assist the Referee in making decisions by using technological devices, the time keeper, the Match Doctor, the
team doctors, the non-playing members of the teams and the ball persons.
YOU SPEAK AS SLOWLY AS YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH OK...
As I have just gone to the trouble of posting directly from my copy of the laws on time keeping in the modern game in which the officials are given certain pre-defined roles and you choose to totally ignore them, please don't mind if I ignore your mis-understanding of both the specific inncident and the laws in general........ OK :)
You may do well to actually talk to a referee, I think you will be most surprised!!!
Talk us through that poor quality footage pointing out each and every action as it happened and identify each player and their part in it...
You can disaprove of my comments if you wish (oh noooo) but the only opinion of substance says 'NO TRY, KNOCK ON, DEFENDING SCRUM' Get over it your team can now look forward to the S14 championship uncluttered by the H cup..
(anyway perhaps this is Karma repaying the decision given in 1996! ;) )
Axel... how can you say that there was something wrong ffs the H cup becoming fake? Whay because Toulouse lost? That is a very weak argument indeed, the score board shows who won. ALL sides attempt to get a win the officials are not cheats! Tell me, what purpose would that serve? (Did they perhaps kill JFK, or organise the Night of broken glass in Germany, because that is just as likely)
Hi mate. I am only talking about one simple fact: the try was valid. Were it refused without using the video, I would say OK: it was a mistake from the referee and nobody's perfect. But it is absolutely amazing this has been refused this way. However, Toulouse dominated the game so they are responsable for not scoring when they could. So let's simply say the referees did not help them on this game. Anyway, good luck to your team for the semi! Ah, the purpose it would serve? Money of course ;)
By the way, we spent an awesome weekend in Cardiff!!! Your city rules, the weather was fantastic (maybe the only place on earth where there was sunshine this weekend!), and people are really really cool. Went to a few pubs on Saturday eve and we had really good fun. Really hope to come back soon, and this time with a win!
Axel have you seen any other coverage of the game (I have a copy of it if you want to watch it (frame by frame indeed)
Yes we all had a great weekend I had two friends from Toulouse stay with me from Thursday to Monday and they saw a lot of Cardiff and even watched the Premiership game at Cardiff Arms Park and had a pint in the clubhouse as well.......
I tell you what is said, Kelher goes alone, and then white call the video. So everybody wonders why, as Dussautoire is not doing a forward, so it has to be just before he takes te ball, as seen it is the cercled hand, and if you watch fully you see that this hand belongs to a Blues player. That is what happen when a ref is married to a Cardiff Blues supporter... What is the use of Video if you don t juge properly...
unfortunately not, would be interested in however. well with my friends we went on Saturday eve in several pubs, on the main street (Oneills, Hardrock Café and other pubs I dont remember the names). It was crowded everywhere, you usually see that only at Leicester Sq in London!! Shame I wanted to go to Arms Park too :-/
one should admit something went really wrong in this game... and especially with the referees. if it was an english or welsh side that lost this way, they would think the same. this h-cup is obviously becoming fake anyway, with unfair and suspicious decisions. where is the interest of using the video if it is to reject a try that is 100% and obviously valid? i have always had a great respect for the Blues, but they clearly did not deserve this one. fair enough, revenge next year ;)
I;m Irish but from what I know the Welsh sides detest Chris White after he lied amd cost them the game during the Italy six nations game a few years ago. He's an incompetent fool.
Perdre dans la grace oui, contre ceux qui gagnent avec panache. Sur ce match, et cette coupe d europe en general, c'est quand meme pas tres clair. Sinon bravo à Cardiff quand meme.
Can't believe you think it was Rush, it clearly shows a second hand, not Rush pushing the ball. That is why it was called as a knock on.

fmuckley seems to be a hard defender of cardiff cause,
Maybe because cardiff cause is difficult to defende... lol
a poor team, your famous 4th official was...welsh, which is a scandale and a great invention from "gaelic" ERC
End of the discussion!
Hope to see french teams play better and with the same "chances" than british teams, next year

fmuckley,
Learn the laws/rules of the game, the time keeper is there to advise the ref, the ref is the time keeper and decision maker on the end of the match.
White fucked up and blew the whistle, which is why he apologised. He should have played the lineout, learn the laws/rules before you comment again.

The following should explain:
5.3 TIME KEEPING
The referee keeps the time but may delegate the duty to either or both the touch judges and/or the official time-keeper, in which case the referee signals to them any stoppage of time or time lost.
In matches without an official time-keeper, if the referee is in doubt as to the correct time the referee consults either or both the touch judges and may consult others but only if the touch judges cannot help.

6.A.7 REFEREE CONSULTING WITH OTHERS
(g) A match organiser may appoint a timekeeper who will signify the end of each half
So RoadHogGB, I hope that clarifies for you the postion in regard to the LAWS of rugby union...

fmuckley,
Let me speak slowly for you.
The ref has the final say when the match finishes, all others guide him, but he is the final arbiter.
