What didn't Clint ever make a movie with John Wayne? Many others worked together like Robert Duvall (Joe Kidd) and (Rooster Cogburn) as an example. Any clues western fans?
@rickrolltide Two mega personalities, I know Eastwood preferred being the top bill at any filming. They would have clashed creatively too. A director's nightmare.
Tudod mi a különbség az amerikai és az olasz western-film között? Az amerikai kinéz az ablakon, megnézi milyen az idő.... Az olasz ha kinéz az ablakon , kap egy golyót a fejébe ... :)
One day when I came to home after smoking weed ,I started to watch TV, and I saw western, and God, alive God talked to me,( God can everything even can talk by TV,by western isn't it? It wasn't signs, it wasn't puzzles, just Person #1 Most Graceful God engaged in dialogue with me by actor maby or it was Himself by His Power). After that I started to worship western movies and I started to watch with painful hope to find God in western movies.
They should have made a movie with Clint Eastwood,Lee Van Cleef, and John Wayne with Gian Maria Volente directed by Sergio Leone, music by Ennio Morricone.
It´s interesting to note that Clint Eastwood was launched into fame by this great Spaghetti Western. Before that, I remember hjm in a secondary role in the TV Series Rawhide.
It´s also my favorite Western and Eli Walach playing "Tuco" really gave it a boost!
classic Clint - irresistable and you cant beat it - the music is the icing on this very nice cake! brad pitt, leo di caprio, all you newbies - go back to square one!
I agree merlin, Van Cleef played the role of his life as 'Angel Eyes' and the antagonist to Clint's 'No Name' hero.Yep, the best movie of all time. and still infulencial today.
Did you know he never actually smoked the cigars for real, as he is was so health concious about his fitness. Interestingly he never looked at ease with it in his mouth. Classic movies though.
@izvn I guess millions started cigars due to his movie image, I know I would have had I not been so into my sports. These movies are still influencial today as they were back then. He is over eighty and still making films! Unforgiven is one of my more recent favourites, his way of saying farewell to the Western.
@Oroshimisu He was a really health conscious guy even back in the 60s, no wonder he is still fit in his 90s.He is married to a women in her 30s! Super fit.
Funnily enough, the way I heard the story, Sergio Leone found out that Clint didn't smoke so he gad him chew on this cigarillos to make his performance harsher. Great idea, fantastic result.
@aslamartnet Yeah, this is what I read too. Sergio knew how to get the grit out of his actors. Clint just had the 'look' and the cigar just made him look like he was disgusted at every gunslinger that crossed his path. Tarantino called this movie 'the best film ever made.' I agree.
on the cigars...he said, (in an interview I watched) he bought them in Beverly Hills before he left to Italy for the filming, and cut each one in thirds to make them about the same length for the scenes.
Do you feel lucky? I do, every time I watch a Clint movie.

@rickrolltide Name of Sergio Leone. Spaghetti Western. Wayne was the biggest money star right then. But not nearly the best.
Think: Blair Witch Project. But With Clint Eastwood!!!
