@anibalok 500d has two HD modes: full 1080p HD at 20fps / 720p HD at 30fps.

can i ask... what is that creaking noise that happens sometimes?! it sounds like there's a lizard in your bedroom?!! is that the focus making that noise?? also i noticed it takes a while for the 500D to focus.. do you know if that happens with all SLR videos??

@MariluLane that's the auto focus - nowadays when I take a video, i always use Manual focus to avoid the noise that you hear in that video

Did you have the aperture lock on when you did the zoom? I have a 500D and i dont zoom to often with the video feature partly because I get that aperture shutter that fiickers when you zoom in and out. I didnt see that with yours when you did it so I was just wondering how you did that.

I haven't actually recorded an entire HD video on one battery, but I believe I have exhausted a 4gig CF card on 1 movie before. (Accidentally left it running)

one one full battery considering it will be using live view and if in AF (Auto Focus) it will be hunting focus to keep the scene/sunject in focus.... i would expect you could shoot a few hours 2 or so worth of footage.... the limit is really with the 12 mins/4GB max per video file in HD.. but lets face it mot many videos made with comsumer cameras are even 10 mins long.. if they are they get rarther boring.

@Sonlider with a 4GB card you record about 20mins of video (the 720p HD video is about 19MB/s)

and i've shot for like 6 hours with one fully charged LP-E5 battery :P

I like the 18-200 lens, but for a little bit more money, you could get the 17-55 f 2.8 or the 17-40 f2.8 L. The 18-200 is a good one lens solution, but you'll find out it's limitations very soon
