  • ,,everyone is missing the point..this man is so well dressed..shine on his shoes too,,spot on m8 :>))

  • Junior Brown sold his soul to the devil a long time ago to play like this.

  • my favorite band is pantera, but as you can see good music is just good music no matter what ganra(?)!!

  • @matobear2112 Genre, but I get what you mean. Phil Anselmo lives through the woods from me down here in South Louisiana. I like Pantera and DOWN too.

  • always cool . . .

  • Hes a BMF!!!!

  • Just plain amazing fretwork.

  • Holy smackereli!

  • This is soooo METAL! (in a non-overdistorted way, ya' dig?)

  • You would never truly appreciate this unless you tried to play guitar before.

  • Way too bad Nashville doesn't WAKE UP!!! They are letting way TOO many modernday Hank sr's, Waylons, Haggard's, and so on, pass through their grubby little fingers!

Just imagine what could happen if Guys like Junior Brown, had the backing of a major label like some of the American Idol Trash! Being a true honest to God working be looked upon as it is TODAY! Period. Point. Blank.

  • @OriginalBurton I don't think record labels have the money to back anybody anymore. . . It's a shame. . . but the best music you hear may be in some small bar just playing for the fun of it. . .

  • Except Hendrix couldn't play that.

  • As we say on the jobsite, when somebody appreciates something it took more than a few trys to learn, and they ask, how'd you do that?! the answer is, "superhuman strength, and yeeeeaaaars of experience! Plus the man obviously loves what he does.

  • 5+ ft tall and a BAD MOTHERFUCKER

  • i have Zappa and Hendrix tattoo and this video makes me want to get a Jr.Brown tat.

  • I saw Jr. in Columbia Mo @the Roots-Blues and BB-Que festival 2010 and he absolutely amazed me.As does this video!!!!

  • @chungazrevenge I saw Junior Brown perform at Billy Bobs Texas in Ft Worth in 1995 .. What a show!

  • HOLY CRAP THIS MAN CAN PLAY

  • this guy is insane on the guitsteel!!!!!!!!!!

  • good googly moogly, YEAH!

  • Which is the song that continues later?

  • This was written by Mark Lindsay and Keith Allison of Paul Revere and the Raiders. It appears on the Alias Pink Puzz album. It has become such a bluegrass classic that it has been attributed to many others, mostly Jimmy Martin.

  • I dont listen to country and its not my thing but when you talk about Junior Brown im all ears.

  • skin that pig, son, skin that pig...

  • Where is the button for five thousand stars?!?!

  • He's pretty much posessed!! I love this guy, I always have. There's nothing he did that I COULDN'T do....but the point is I would never think to do it. My brain doesn't let me play with that much reckless abandondment unless chemicals are involved!!! 5 stars for being a badass.

  • What you said,

This was just perfect what jdmyerscountry said... after just watching this smokin' hot player doing those things to that thing that looks part Tele and part slide... Almost pornographic, but so beautiful.

I'm a very happy man right now this Christmas Eve.

  • really want to hear that next song...

  • Junior is the shit!! He almost makes country cool!!

  • I cannot stop watching him play this fairly easy song. Howver what he is doing within is lethally dangerous. Watch his right hand picking technique when going through the 3 chords He applies many different difficult styles, and has the left hand in perfect sync with his right hand. That right hand alternating with his pick, and fingers is total talent, and lots of long long hours spent woodshedding. I would do anything to learn his techniques. When you see guys like this, it makes you SMILE

  • he's fast

  • This GUY RULES !!! JB RULES!!! Hes 1 of the the BEST Pickesr around!!

  • there ain't nothin' compared to seeing Junior live. this video captures a bit of it, but still, when you see him live you realize he's one of the best performing guitar players alive. it's nutz

  • LMAO Taylor Swift is considered Country? What a sad ass freakin joke. She isn't good enough to hold Junior's hat!

  • and he is one snazzy freaking dresser too! all them country fags with thier torn up jeans and lame ass hats need to take note!

  • @MegaGristle The suit kinda gives him that Bonamasa thing & I would love to see both in the same show! I saw him in Colorado in a dink town close to the Utah border off I-70. It was awesome! Hearing people cheer for a song written in 1928 while they are toking up is too cool for words! Everyone can get something from his show!

  • Jr. Brown Rocking out! One of my favorite guitarists - just awesome!

  • cooool its real

  • I love Junior Brown and this video is really cool in the way the sunlight makes the colors and shadows "pop". It's like a really cool photograph.

  • Nice suit.

  • Long live to you!!!

  • I love how you can see the drummers brushes flying the whole time!

  • Goooooo Junior!!!!!!!

  • Freeborn man!

  • Best faces in everything! Burn it up Junior!

  • Hey junior why the monkey suit

  • If Bo Diddley is a Gun slinger.... Then Junior Brown is a G.E. AUG-8 wide open .....

Yesir, thats a big ole 10-4

  • awesome!

  • I've seen this guy live three times, and I don't even like country music!!! This guy fuck's shit up and takes no prisoners.

No matter what your musical taste is, if you get the chance, see this guy. He's AMAZING!!!

  • Junior will turn Little Rock into a Lotta Rock tonight!!!

  • He was playin' so hot, he was even slack jawed for a few bars in there.

    YEEHAWWWW!!!

  • The boots, the suit, the hat, the guitsteel and a whole lotta TALENT!

    Junior Brown is DA MAN.

  • This guy is so good it is scary!

  • I really wanted to buy a Stevens guitar like this one until I found out they were $14.500

  • @oatbuck They make Colt .45 knock-offs in Alfghanistan for $40. I'd find me a luthier-artist to make me a one-off...

  • get a load of this ! I can't believe this guy!

  • The guy that first introduced me to Junior described him as Jerry Reed meets Jimi Hendrix lol The instrument was custom made for him btw. He calls it a guitsteel.

  • @Bluesman9830 Hey thats a very accurate assessment of Jr. re: Jerry Reed meets Jimi.

    Live performances are unbeatable.

And if you do see him live be sure and watch the drummer closely. Outstanding.

  • class...

Junior's very entertaining!Love that twang and those faces.

  • Damn this divides the men and boys, what talent !!!!!!!!!!

  • Class playin' Wow!!!

  • back in the early 90's a local writer described Junior as "Hendrix meets Ernest Tubb" with his patent taco-shaped cowboy hat. I haven't caught him for a while and will be watchin for his return...

  • man that guy was drunk but he still didnt miss a beat

    HES FREAKNE GOOD

  • How did his Guit-Steel not catch on fire? Unbelievable. Thank God he was out doors or the roof would have been blown off for sure.

  • Another guitar icon and legend, the usung hero...GO JUNIOR

  • SWEET!

  • This dude is unblieveable

  • He plays that thing like he was born with it.

    What a great talent.

  • he was freeborn with it. yuck yuck yuck

  • RJ went down to the crossroads, Junior was down there playing,

  • Just saw him @ Antones. So drunk he cldnt talk, but did not miss 1 note on that guitar. All the singers (zac brown) left, all the pickers were mesmorized.

  • We need more of he's songs on youtube...if you have them load them pls...

  • yeah great job junior, greetings from the netherlands, perhaps one day a europe tour.?

  • So AMAZING..TALENT...And designing of that guitar//steel guitar

  • So AMAZING .... And designing that guitar/steel guitar..what a sound.!

  • blues tremolo picking, nice!

  • I thought that the video was sped up for a minute but he's just that fast.

  • Possibly the finest blues performance I have ever seen.

  • He's a pickin' and I'm a grinnin' :-)

  • the Hillbilly Hendrix!

  • I could pick like this, and sing this low, as soon as i master flight

  • Smokin' Hot! Does anyone know what tune they go into after this tune ends?

  • Junior is, Frickin' Pickin' Crazy Good!

Keeping it Classic Country, Nashville put this in your pipe and smoke it!

  • you hit the naIL RIGHT on the HEAD

  • This man is SEXY.

  • There's Nashville corporate country music and then there's Junior Brown. It's like cut and paste pop singers and bands, versus a truly original thinker. In other words, Junior Brown is awesome.

  • Nowadays, lame asses label this "alternative country." The idiots don't know the real deal when they hear it because they've been listening moronic mainstream pap all their lives.

  • this is how country music SHOULD be played

  • Sorry, I accidently hit the thumbs down button and I meant thumbs up. Junior is amazing.

  • @steve2275 This is how all music should be played!

  • You can hear a little bit of "Catfish & Collard Greens" in there, too.

Also, I got blisters on MY fingers just watching him play. He is pure genius on the axe.

  • Love it

  • Wicked guitar playing....

  • alls i can say is honesdale roots fest june 20 2009. i must have listened to this 50 times at least

  • Under-appreciated musical genius - saw him in a tiny club in Atlanta in the early 90s - unbelievable - best one to me is Stupid Blues - maybe because I "relate".

  • Europe is waiting for Junior,

  • Pardon me while I eat a pound of speed and play some country music.

  • Sums it all up. LMAO on your comment. Jr. is awesome!

  • yep - cookin! @@

  • Go boy go!

  • Guitar God! The best guitar player of this time!

  • This song is great!!! My daughter danced to this song when she was in diapers!

  • " Sweet fancy Moses! "

  • AWESOME!!!

I've seen Junior play several times and this is one of the best performances of "Freeborn Man" I've ever seen. Excellent camerawork, too.

  • Love it! I've seen him a couple of times and he SMOKES! For the record, his rhythm section is pretty damn good too. The drummer on this particular song gets a WORKOUT. And you won't believe the sound the three of them can come up with during "Foxey Lady" by Hendrix.

  • The coolest thing about seeing him live is he's gotta have some sorda record for standing o's. The crowd i was in proly stood 50 times. He's a total crowd pleaser

  • freeborn man all the way...guitarman for ever....bluesman for life. hell yeah watch it go.

  • Plain and simple. That is just how it is done. I don't think you can get any better. If so hot damn you are cookin.

  • He is a machine !!

  • Love it. One of my favorite JR. Brown tunes...but how does he do it??

    Thanks for posting!
