No, not in the normal game. Online play let's players choose a faction and then play as a pre-defined "class" from that faction. Nord Huscarl is an example of one of those classes. Nords also have Scouts and Archers available. These classes all have pre-defined statistics, but players can choose their equipment from round to round. You get a bunch of stuff for free and you can buy more or better equipment each round with the money you earn from killing enemies.
