  • Automatic or manual transmissions?

  • dafuq...

  • perfect circle's

  • @Cook2430

Incase you haddn't noticed Hyundai are the fastest growing car company with some of the best built and most reliable cars on the planet. And on top of that manage to offer class leading features for decent prices.

  • Too bad Hyundais are garbage. Cheapest hunks of shits on this planet, next to Kia. If the dollar store sold cars there would be a hyundai in it.

  • @Cook2430 Kias are hyundais.

  • Man, Mike McIntyre was great when he was over here in El Paso. I wish he still owned Hyundai of El Paso

  • Getting some love on Jalopnik... Agreed. Best burnout ever.

  • THAT DONUT

  • too bad its a hyundai, proply worst looking car

  • I wanted to do this with an Olds Aurora...

  • lol stationary donuts!!!!

  • exactly, love it!

  • I still have the SCC mag this was featured in!

  • follow along as we build a twin engine Tiburon from scratch . . . weve done it before and this time we are inviting others to build along with us. We will do it on a budget and be sure to answer your questions along the way. We are turbo charging both engines, and doing some other mods. This is Mike McIntyre and I hope that you will follow the blog and the build and feel free to comment and ask questions. See you on the blog!

  • I used to own this car for a short time, two weeks to be exact. I'll give the historical breakdown of this car. Back in 2001-2002 Michael McIntyre used to own a Hyundai dealership in El Paso, Texas. This car was built strictly for the USCC. From there it ran and was then parked for the next six years. From there a man by the name of Ozzie bought the car from the Hyundai dealership, without Michael knowing. Michael was very annoyed that it was sold.

  • From there Ozzie ran the car for a few months down at El Paso before selling it to Pete Melendez. Pete used to be a constable in El Paso and attempted to flip the car for 10,000 when he bought it for 5,000. Pete garunteed the car to be in running order and repainted, but wasn't. Pete traded the car to a man named Dwayne who lived in Arkansas (would need to verify) for a modified foxbody Mustang. When Dwayne went to get the car, he was only shown it idling and moving around a parking lot.

  • After Dwayne drove to El Paso, TX to pick the car up and got it home, he found the car needed the two Aeromotive A1000 pumps rebuilt and did not want to deal with the car. From there it was posted on a Tiburon specific site where I bought it for $3,500. When it was all said and done the car finally got to Pittsburgh, PA at the end of 2008, only to find it was a mess, something I did not want to deal with, so it was sold locally to someone and since then he has it.

  • So your telling me one guy gave up over 2 fuel pumps, sheesh.... Pathetic

  • do you know where this car is now? i would like to get in touch with the current owner. thanks, mike

  • @pod12597 I work at that dealership in EP and know the guy who built part of it. Very privileged to work with him. It's a very nice car too from what the guys were telling me.

  • I think this car competed in Sport Compact Cars "Ultimate Street Car Challenge" back in the day and nearly won it. Somebody did some amazing ECU programming to make the drive-train synchronize; hence the donuts. I've known about the mystical "twin engine tib" for years, but never saw the evidence until now. I feel like I just watched a Unicorn give birth

  • No it had completely separate drives. Two transmissions two ecus. And two gear selectors. This burnout is one in reverse and one in drive.

  • oh shiiiit i remember this

i think they put the rears in drive and the fronts to reverse

    awesome burnout/donuts

  • sick sugar donuts

  • Yeah the donuts were sick...

Nice ride haha, too bad its not practical and would get 12 mpg :(

  • those donuts are fucking unreal

  • Would you want to row two shifters in the heat of a race?

  • hahaha that one made me laugh .. actually you could use one shifter that would operate the 2 transmissions at the same time ..

  • thats the best burnout ever!I wish Auto industries can make legal twin engines cars for every body who can afford gas.

  • Yeah... I've got a tiburon with TWO v6 2.7l engines... what .... what...

    lol.

    props to those guys though.

  • What a beautiful burnout.

  • dude that is sick

  • best burnout ever!!

  • Thats gnarly, talk about sleeper

  • who ever owns this car is a sick twisted bastard and we love every second of this vid!! please get us up to date on the new project !!

  • are these guys are aware there is a y in hyundai? they call them hundais!

  • wow good point (ChaosEnigma1978)

  • Sweet piece of machinery. I hope they've bothered to tweak the suspension and weight distribution because that could be one sick-ass autocross machine. Even a rally car, if they put their minds to it.

  • How do they manage power between front & rear?

  • thers 2 of everything. 2 gearboxes and all that. the 2 throttle cables are joined so they run off the same accelerator pedal. there are a lot of twin engined cars theses days. this lot cheated tho by using two auto gearboxes.

  • Yeah, I assumed that, but what I never understood about twin engine cars is this; Nothing is perfect so at any given time one of the engines will be making more power than the other. Wouldn't this mean that one of the two would always be either pushing or pulling the other?

  • How do you make this work with a manual?

  • DAYUM! i loved the backwords donut :D

  • this is basically one of the coolest cars I've ever seen. It's prob got more in it too.

  • loko pon el domain en la esquina del video.

  • Is that the same tiburon from the 1st USCC?

  • Durroco is superior!

  • Yes, it's an automatic. I'd like to see you drive two manuals at the same time :)

  • this is a bad ass car , i followed it in the super street challenge i think it was 2004 or somewhere around then , just bad ass.

  • a twin engine talon is a waste of money through and through. nice swap woulda been more agreeable than 2 engines, it's just excess. sorry im not ricey enough to enjoy the idea of a twin engine tiburon.

  • its not about the money... obviously. Even a moron could figure that out. I go to the local races and all i see are hondas hondas hondas. Its cool to see a change like this... its unique and hasn't been done before, thats cooler than having another 500whp honda running around. theres plenty of them already.

  • sick!

  • sweet

  • get a grip and stop bitchin. you try and build a twin engined car you muppet

  • hey it took 2 engines for that tiburon to make +600hp...and its an automatic? what a piece of junk. imagine if he dumped that money and work into a honda. he would have had the fastest street honda on the planet. all the power and speed he wanted, except he coulda drove it all day long. what a nerd.

  • Do you even own a car?

  • A M A Z I N G

  • yes sir... my main language is spanish.
