Good interview. She didn't seem as full of herself. <--opinion based on previous attitudes while she performed and articles I've read. Regardless, she's growing up. Good for you, Amy.
I just would like to state that I believe arrogance is one who gets ahead of themselves and can't back it up. But I think she's just a confident person because she is gifted and performs really well. And she knows it. Anyway, it's so refreshing to see a female performer who isn't singing a album about love and relationships. There's nothing wrong with that, but enough is enough. Being an artist encompasses creativity not monotony.
I agree with your statement on the whole [and I liked that it was well articulated :)]. I'd just like to add that, previously, I've felt that while Evanescence put out music I enjoyed, the live performances and attitudes she fronted made her seem arrogant without being able to back it up. A few more recent live performances have shown that her voice has strengthened and she's doing better, and as with all I've said, that's all my opinion.
Also, like you said, I like that she isn't the stereotypical "pretty girl" singing all the same songs written by someone else. And I do think she's on to something about the "if I wear tight clothes, people think I don't write my own songs." lol

We are talking about evanescence here that many say is a Goth band which I don't agree. and like JamieODonnell said in is post POP here don't mean Britney spear or NSYNC but Popular which mean regular radio material, song you can here anywhere in a shopping mall that's what POP mean.

I just would like to state that I believe arrogance is one who gets ahead of themselves and can't back it up. But I think she's just a confident person because she is gifted and performs really well. And she knows it. Anyway, it's so refreshing to see a female performer who isn't singing a album about love and relationships. There's nothing wrong with that, but enough is enough. Being an artist encompasses creativity not monotony.

I agree with your statement on the whole [and I liked that it was well articulated :)]. I'd just like to add that, previously, I've felt that while Evanescence put out music I enjoyed, the live performances and attitudes she fronted made her seem arrogant without being able to back it up. A few more recent live performances have shown that her voice has strengthened and she's doing better, and as with all I've said, that's all my opinion.

Thanks for the great response. And having an opinion is number one, regardless if another agrees or not. And yes I really like that quote that you pointed out. It's absolutely true. Additionally, I listen to bands like Metallica, Alice in Chains, AC/DC etc. where they write their own stuff. So I foremost assume one being an artist that this is a prerequisite to that profession. Consequently, I just realized my naivety on that aspect. Long live rock n roll!!!
