  • Paul Washer teaching that Jesus obeyed for you and that you get his obedience imputed to your account. I wonder why Jesus never taught that in anything He said?

  • @Skinski7 Do you know of any videos where Paul preaches OSAS? I know this is OSAS, but I saw one video where he said it very clearly.

  • @TheOldBeef No one is denying the EXISTENCE of works. Rather, we are denying that it has anything to do with our justification. When you stand before the Lord on the day of judgment, what will be your legal defense?

Matt 7:22 ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’

Don't say one word about your filthy-rags good works. You better confess your sin and admit that your only hope is Christ on the cross. Period.

  • @TheOldBeef So what is God's will? That we earn our way to heaven? And, oh yes, your good works are filthy rags if they are offered for your justification. John 6:28 tells us God's will:

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

So why did Jesus send those folks in Matt 7, who performed the mightiest works among men, to HELL?? And if it's based on works, what hope do WE have?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheOldBeef LOL. So you're not even a Christian. Figures.

Go perform, little monkey. Maybe if you juggle torches for 20 years while balancing on a beach ball, the demiurge will see that you are worthy.

Or maybe after trying that for a decade, you will finally confess that you are unable. Then you might come to the real God, Who's burden is light.

  • @TheOldBeef Salvation is not by my selfish heart. It is not by my vain works. It is not by ME at all!

Salvation is from Christ, alone. His righteousness and payment for sin were imputed to me 2000 years ago before my mind thought or hands worked iniquity.

Salvation by our black, selfish, human hearts?? The Bible says that the human heart is wicked beyond understanding.

  • @TheOldBeef Okay, silly child. Get lost. You're blocked.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheOldBeef Then you are simply NOT a Christian!

  • @TheOldBeef The ONLY works sufficient for righteousness are the works of CHRIST! Period.

  • @TheOldBeef Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. Gen 15:6.

Our righteousness is Christ's, imputed to us.

  • What about people who believe and yet are still slaves to sin. Does Washer believe he is free of sin.

  • "The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and asked, "Sirs, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?" They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved along with everyone in your household." (Acts 16:29-31). Now notice that, a man believes in Jesus and his entire household is saved also. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved but whoever does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:16). Faith alone saves.

  • @21May2011KABOOM Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you'll be saved. This is a brief summary of what is needed to be saved. What it does it mean to believe? Is it as simple as saying Jesus is Lord, then you're saved. Thats what the verse you quote would appear to be saying. But if you think about it, the full truth of the gospel must be included in your interpretation, which includes many scriptures. It doesnt say faith alone.

  • @21May2011KABOOM You quote scripture, but then you add your part "faith alone saves". If faith alone saves, please quote me 1 scripture that says specifically that faith alone is what saves us. Just 1 scripture where the words faith and alone occur together. Please. Because if this is true, dont you think the bible would have it printed at least once? And if it doesnt say it, then how can it be true?

  • In conclusion-God's directed and empowered works in a believer's life are the direct result of God having justified them declaring them righteous in His sight by faith alone. Therefore a person can ONLY qualify for "good works" God approves of, IF they have been saved by faith alone in Jesus Christ, and such God directed works should and must follow if a person's faith is genuine. So works in Jam 2:24 has to do with authentication or proof (NOT THE CAUSE) that a person has been justified by God.

  • @DivineRevelator JAmes 2-24 Clearly says "not by faith alone" in reference to justification. Please explain James 2-25: "RAhab the prostitute was justifeid by works". Again, clearly it says a person was justified by works. Honestly, please explain this.

  • "by the works of the Law NO flesh will be justified in His sight "(Rom 3:20);

"a man is justified by faith APART from works of the Law" (Rom 3:28); "what does the Scripture say?" > "Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness'"(Rom 4:3); "Therefore having been justified by faith"; (Rom 5:1). "to the one who does NOT WORK but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited him as righteousness" (Rom 4:5). Works are definitely not the cause of justification.

  • @DivineRevelator - EXCELLENT POST! Thanks for bringing the whole counsel of God to bare. It's truly amazing how some people read the bible, look at a single verse (Ex: James 2:24), while ignoring or not considering several other equally important scriptures that discuss the exact same topic, then they build an entire doctrine out of that single verse. The most likely cause of this is they've been indoctrinated by someone who adhers to the same isolated position. This is how CULTS get started.

  • Gal 2:26: > "knowing that a man is NOT justified by the works of the law but by the Faith of Jesus Christ even we have who BELIEVED in Jesus Christ that we may be justified by the Faith of Christ, NOT by the works of the Law: For by the WORKS OF THE LAW NO FLESH SHALL BE JUSTIFIED. A man is justified by God through Faith in Jesus Christ ALONE APART from his works. Jesus is the ONLY ONE who KEPT ALL God's Laws declaring men JUSTIFIED by their faith in his Name, like the saved thief on the cross.

  • "Having been born again, NOT of corruptible seed, but of INCORRUPTIBLE, through the Word of God, which lives and remains forever." (1 Peter 1:23)

  • Divine. I have been saying all along that Salvation is by grace alone and not of works INITIALLY. THEN, after your conversion you must "die daily" (paul's words) and be regenerated by the Holy Spirit as He wars with "the flesh" (galatians 5). Works prove the salvation experience and also strengthen your faith thereby keeping you saved. Sanctification must happen for "without holiness, noone will see God". I think wording an symantics seperate our doctrines.

  • @christopher4everon-Yes that's correct, one MUST die daily which is what the PROCESS of santification is about, which is the Work of God's Spirit in a believer's life, but yet this has nothing to do with salvation and remaining saved, because if it did, NO one would make it. WHY? Because every saved person still commits sins which is WHY we need Jesus as our intecessor. Even the Apostle PAUL said those things I SHOULD NOT DO, I DO ANYWAY, so then I see it's the effect of sin at work in my body."

  • @christopher4everon -Please keep in mind the "works" being done in a believer's life is THE WORK OF The Holy Spirit IN THEM, directing them in a life process of santicifaction, which occurs at different paces for everyone. Remember this, "For it is God at WORK IN YOU to both WILL AND DO what is pleasing to Him." (Phil 2:13). This IS the santification process, but yet it does NOT effect a person's salvation. "IF we become FAITHLESS, He will remain Faithful, He can NOT disown himself" -Rom 9:16

  • @christopher4everon -One's "holiness" is NOT a result of what they do at any time, it's a result of what Christ has done on the Cross and their Faith in Jesus completed Work on Calvery which is also God directed. God's Holiness is conferred upon someone AT the moment of them being Born Again of His Spirit, which is FROM HEAVEN. The Bible says you have become a NEW CREATION IN CHIRST, which is incorruptible because God made it that way. It seems to me that you have not read the entire NT Bible?

  • @christopher4everon - The Bible does NOT say salvation is by Grace alone INITIALLY. Again this is YOU saying this. The Bible does NOT say it. This is another example of you leaning to your own understanding. There is NO initially anywhere in the Bible for anyone who has Faith for salvation. Man can do NOTHING for God AT ALL. Any sinner can ONLY receive God's Grace, Love, and Mercy through Faith in the Blood Atonement of Jesus Christ which results in one being Born Again incorruptable (1Pet 2:23)

  • You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. ~ James 2:24

Divine you should read the book of James and pray for understanding.

  • @christopher4everon -It's truly amazing how you get STUCK on a scripture and IGNORE all revelant scriptures in God's Word who NEVER contradicts Himself. Eph 2:8-9 > "For by Grace YOU ARE SAVED through Faith; NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the GIFT of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. What you do is look at this and TOTALLY DISREGARD what it says NOT OF WORKS, then run over to James 2:24 and say this is what God means here, "works are required to be saved" which THEN becomes YOUR doctrine.

  • @christopher4everon - I told you that works authenticate a believer's genuine faith which I described in detail. Works DON'T SAVE anyone, God SAID IT. Works are the RESULT of salvation, NOT THE CAUSE OF IT, and if you don't see this, you need to ask God to reveal HIS PERSPECTIVE of this so you can stop leaning to your own understanding. What YOU're doing, is saying "look at James 2:24 works ARE required to become saved and stay saved", but yet in Eph 2:8-9, God says Salvation is NOT OF WORKS.

  • Also. Jesus tells Mary after His promise to the Thief of being together in "paradise"

John 20:17 Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"

So maybe this thief was "in paradise" because he was "In Christ" or saved. Just the same with us if we are "in Christ" we are saved.

  • Divine... The Thief died after Jesus said "today you will be with me in paradise". Oh. By the way... Where exactly did Jesus go when he "died" on the cross??? According to scripture Jesus "went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison,"

  • @christopher4everon -Obviously the thief died, the exact moment is irrevelant. You still did NOT address that fact that the thief acknowledged Jesus as "LORD" BEFORE he died when he said, "Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom", when moments before he was cursing Jesus along with the other thief, which reveals his repentent heart & his confession of Faith in Christ, both of which are God mediated. ALSO you didn't address that the thief had DIED WITH NO "WORKS", but yet, he was SAVED.

  • James 2:14

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

    James 2:17

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

  • @christopher4everon -So what you're saying is someone must maintain good works in order to be saved. You need to rightfully divide the word of truth like I said before. WORKS DON'T SAVE. The thief on the cross, WHAT WORKS DID HE DO?? You have not answered this. The Bible shows the thief's faith in operaton when he said, "Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom", BUT YET, HE DIED WITH NO "WORKS." Like I said before, WORKS AUTHENTICATE one's Faith, but has NOTHING TO DO WITH SALVATION.

  • Divine.. Romans 10:9 says "that if YOU CONFESS with your mouth Jesus is Lord and Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead then you shall be saved.

    Ephesians 2

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

The grace of God part is what does not require works... The grace is the gift!!!

However. The "through faith" part. Here is where works comes in

    James 2:14

    W

  • @christopher4everon- NO that is NOT correct. Salvation is the object. The God's Grace is NOT the gift. That is NOT what that scriptures says, this is again what YOU are saying. SALVATIION IS THE GIFT, AND IT SAYS IT IN BLACK AND WHITE, AND IT ALSO SAYS IT IS NOT THE RESULT OF WORKS. > Salvation IS THE GIFT OF GOD. It does NOT say "grace is a gift of God." Salvation is the object of God's GIFT unto ALL who believe, and is comes THROUGH God's Grace toward man, it is through God's unearned favor.

  • To say I am not saved because I believe we were saved, we are being saved and we will be saved is error on your part. Any good Baptist will even tell you the word "saved" is used in several different tenses. Past, present and future.

  • @christopher4everon -You need to depart form the teachings of man and prayerfully rely on the Holy Spirit. I am praying for you that your eyes of understanding be enlightened by God Himself, the True teacher. The issue here is the ability to rightfully divide the Word of Truth which ONLY the Holy Spirit can do as you yield to His leading, comparing related scriptures in context. The mistake people make in this process is to DISREGARD very clear scriptures & adher to what someone else told them.

  • Divine... The action of faith in salvation is a confession of faith... A work

  • @christopher4everon - Confession of Faith It NOT a "work of man", it is a WORK of the Spirit of GOD who lives and dwells in ALL believes who have received Jesus by FAITH, ALL of which is NOT of yourself. ALL OF IT. If confession of Faith were a work of man, then God would have NOT written Rom 10:9. The "action of Faith" comes ONLY from God. ALL Faith is God empowered and directed. Have you not read Phil 2:13 >, "it is GOD AT WORK IN YOU TO BOTH WILL AND DO ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PLEASURE." PLEASE

  • Each of us will be judged according to our own faith, the faith of another will not be credited to anyone. It was Abraham's own faith which God regarded as righteous, even though he was not perfect. Trusting God (which is Biblical faith) is always pleasing to God. Imputed righteousness is an evil, false and unjust doctrine.

  • The body of Christ is heading toward the greatest persecution in almost 2000 years. I know ministers that still refuse to warn believers because it will affect their reputation with their peers, divide their church, and scare away big tithers. When the Son of Man does come back and gathers His elect the world will be following the Beast. There is no way of knowing how many millions of saints will refuse to be persecuted by taking his mark (Rev. 13:3-18). (Rev. 13:7, 3:5)

  • Faith without works is dead.

He who does not produce fruit will be cut off. What is fruit? I garden and let me tell you, fruit means reproduction. Go into all the world and preach the gospel is a command. Obedience - sacrifice. There are still things we must do... No free tickets. Jesus says if you love me... You will keep my commands. It really is circular. Both sides are right. Justified once. Sanctified a lifetime. Nothing regenerates instantly. Titus 3:5...

  • Comment removed

  • @christopher4everon If "nothing regenerates instantly", then what is being Born Again about?? Just on a basic level, when a baby is BORN, is being BORN a process or does it occur INSTANTLY?? You're not making any sense whatsoever. You suffer from the very thing the man in the above video is talking about. You need to be BORN AGAIN. If the thief on the CROSS next to Jesus was not INSTANTLY REGENERATED when he BELIEVED Jesus, how is it Jesus told him > "TODAY you'll be with ME in paradise"..?"

  • @christopher4everon - ALSO your quote of Titus 3:5 does NOT say what you said, i.e. "nothing regenerates instantly." This is what YOU are saying. Titus 3:5 says the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you said, and this scripture verse further confirms my above posts on this important topic.

Titus 3:5 > He saved us NOT by WORKS of righteousness WE HAVE DONE, but according to His mercy by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.

This single scripture ALONE blows away your argument.

  • @christopher4everon - Yes, that is CORRECT, "Faith without works is dead." WHY? Because genuine Faith in a believer's life will ALWAYS produce "good works" for the Kingdom of God, i.e. working out one's own salvation with fear and trembling; sharing one's faith in Jesus Christ with others; departing from a former lifestyle of wickedness, ALL of which is the process of santification directed and empowered by the Holy Spirit living within a believer. WORKS DON'T REGENERATE - WORKS AUTHENTICATE.

  • paul washer is a false teacher!!!!

    ahhhhhh!

    stop listening to this man!!!

    ahhhhh!!!

  • the only problem with the idea that justification is by faith alone is that it's not mentioned once in the bible. The only place where the words faith and alone occur together is to dispute the idea that justification is by faith alone. "man is justified by works and NOT by faith alone" (Jam. 2:24).

  • @xxzzxx99 - Listen, the Bible VERY CLEARLY says it by God's Grace YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED through Faith, and NOT of yourself (works), so that NO man can boast. Got it? God is the ONLY One with Power to forgiven sin and declare a person justified in His sight, which is by simply BELIEVING what He says, identical to Abraham, which is the foundation of justification by FAITH ALONE. Did Abraham do any WORKS to become JUSTIFIED in God's sight? Genuine faith is authenticate by one's works, nothing more.

  • @DivineRevelator My point was that nowhere in the bible does it say justified by "faith alone". And if its not biblical, how can bible believing sola scriptura subscribers believe it? (kinda strange isn't it).

  • @xxzzxx99 -Here's some questions for you.1. how does one become Born Again? 2. Does it happen suddenly and invisibly, OR gradually and visibly over a lifetime? 3. is it reversible or irreversible? 4. is it corruptible or incorruptible? i.e. > is its origin and operation of man or God? Everything we do in this life is by "faith alone." When we go under a surgeon's knife, it's by faith alone. When we get on an airplane, it's by faith alone. Anything that man receives from God is by faith alone.

  • @DivineRevelator But nowhere in scripture does it say you're saved by faith alone. Whats your definition of being born again? In my opinion, being born again doesnt mean you're saved. To be born again means a significant change, becoming a new person after experiencing Christ Jesus. It is not the end of the story, but the beginning of a new life that hopefully ends in heaven. Any child can stray and if it ceases to live a life centred in Christ, the child will not be saved.

  • @xxzzxx99 - My definition of being Born Again is the definition that Jesus gave to Nicodemus when He was discussing what being Born Again is. Nicodemus struggled with Jesus explanation just like you do, and that's not a put down. Becoming a "new person" (Born Again) has not its origin from this world. It is a NEW CREATION, a new being, an incorruptible being inside a corruptible body laden with sin, empowered by the Spirit of God into a life of santification. I can tell you never read Rom 9:16.

  • @xxzzxx99 - The Bible DOES SAY you are saved by "faith alone." It is what the Bible teaches in the entire text unless you choose obscurity. > "For it is by Grace you HAVE BEEN SAVED through Faith, NOT of your own doing, NOT of Works; it is the Gift of God." (Eph 2:8-9). It does NOT say you will be saved may be one day through Faith ++++. The "Faith" is directly connected to "HAVE BEEN SAVED", as opposed to will be save, or one day might be saved. Did the thief on the cross die in faith alone?

  • @CampingsCultCollapse I assume you think you're saved and theres nothing you can do to be damned to hell then? Whats to stop you from committing any sin that you want. Go kill someone , have sex with anyone you want, cheat on your partner, steal a million bucks, because you cant go to hell, right? The problem with being 'saved ' without being judged is that its not logical, and its not biblical. There's no deterent for sin if you've already been saved. If you're in heaven already, why not sin?

  • @CampingsCultCollapse The only place you see the words "faith alone " together in the bible is in JAmes where it says "You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone." How do explain this verse? It clearly says that we are justified NOT BY FAITH ALONE. Did you read what you wrote? nowhere does it say "faith alone" in your quote!! "you will know them by their fruits:" Sola fida has divided the church, what sort of fruit is that? Sounds like the devils work (division).

  • @CampingsCultCollapse The bible clearly says you are saved by faith. No body disputes that. It just doesnt say you're saved by faith alone. The idea of being saved by faith alone leads to immorality. Because if there are no consequences for sin, there's no reason not to sin. Hell is a deterrnet for believers. Because if you dont believe in hell, you dont dont try to avoid going there. Hell is only a deterrent for believers. FAith alone can be an excuse people use to keep sinning.

  • @xxzzxx99 -You said: "the bible clearly says you are saved by faith." NO IT DOESN'T. What sort of fruit is that?Sola fida has divided the church, the works of the devil. Eph 2:8 says: "IT IS BY FAITH YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED." PAST TENSE. How do you explain that? Where were the works of the thief on the cross, the one who DIED in faith?..the one to whom Jesus said, "today you will be with me in paradise."? Jesus speaking of Himself said: "the WORK of God is to BELIEVE on the one whom God has sent."

  • @CampingsCultCollapseThe thief on the cross repented which is why he was saved. Repentence is a work. His faith and work saved him. Jesus said repent and believe, not just believe. "By faith you have been saved." Again I dont dispute that faith saves. You have nowhere proven that " faith alone" saves. which is the contention of Sola fida. Yes faith saves, but as James points out, not alone: JAmes 2-24 YOU SEE THAT A PERSON IS JUSTIFIED BY WORKS AND NOT FAITH ALONE.

  • @xxzzxx99 -Yes repentence is indeed a work. It is the work of faith which comes from God, and without God, it would NOT be possible. I already stated that Jesus told his disciples who asked them what must we do, to do the works of God? Jesus replied, > "the work of God is this, BELIEVE on the one whom God has sent." The thief on the cross did just that, he BELIEVED ON THE ONE WHOM GOD SENT, which is a WORK OF GOD. This "work" he did was a RESULT of his faith. He had NO other "works" to be saved.

  • Tense is irrelevant, because whether its past or not, the people he refers to being saved are still not said to be saved by faith alone. And what JAMES says in 2-24 still holds true: YOU SEE THAT A PERSON IS JUSTIFIED BY WORKS AND NOT FAITH ALONE. God bless

  • @xxzzxx99 -No the tense is NOT irrevelant. The tense comes from the original greek language which is HIGHLY SPECIFIC. What I see about you is you have become a law unto yourself, you lean to your own understanding, and that's a choice you're making. I recommend against it. If you adhere to the "tense is irrevelant", the tense which was communicated by God through the men of God who wrote the bible under the direction of the Holy Spirit, you're saying that what God wrote is irrevelant. Good bye.

  • @CampingsCultCollapse Tense is in fact irrelevant, not generally speaking but in the point in which we are debating which is whether or not justification is by faith alone. I am not disputing the person has been saved. Just that faith alone saved them. Whether it happenned in the past tense or not does not change the fact faith alone does not save us. God bless

  • @xxzzxx99 -You're still not rightfully dividing the Word of Truth. Unknowingly, you're being used by the devil to divide the Church. A person's FAITH ALONE is what saves them, it is a GIFT of God; this is resounding clear in Eph 2:8-9. You think this is a "license to sin" (how foolish), so you run over to James and disregard Eph 2:8-9. A believer's works is a showing forth of their faith which is for the purpose of glorifying God (1Pet 2:12); THIS IS THE JUSTIFICATION OF FAITH JAMES SPEAKS OF.

  • @CampingsCultCollapse Again, Eph 2-8 says faith saves us. I agree. But it does not say faith alone. Can you please explain the following scripture. JAMES 2-24 YOU SEE THAT A PERSON IS JUSTIFIED BY WORKS AND NOT FAITH ALONE. And 2-25 "rahab the prostitute was justified by works".

  • @xxzzxx99 Answer this question. If a man has been an athiest his entire life and on his death bed in the last few minutes of his life before he takes his last breath, the man believes the Gospel having heard it previously, or someone visting him on his death bed preached it, and this man repents of his sins admitting his sinful condition before God, suddenly expresses faith in Jesus Christ knowing He died for him, openly confessing Him, then the man DIES! Did this man's faith alone save him??

  • @xxzzxx99 -Friend, justification is NOT the same thing as eternal life. This is where you're having difficulty. I already explained to you James 2:24 which so far, you have been using to contradict Eph 2:8-9, which is NOT possible. You must come to a reconcilation by the Spirit of God of how these scriptures are united in Truth. James 2:24 speaks of a person being justified (NOT SAVED) by their works. You can not come to any other conclusion unless you wish to continue to contradict God's Word.

  • @CampingsCultCollapse Actually, Luther divided the church with Sola Fida. Up until that point, there was one christian church. Sola Fida divided christianity into many denominations. Before that, there was 1 church, with one leader. (the pope). Now we have 33,000 christian denominations, before the reformation there was 1.

  • Comment removed

  • @xxzzxx99 -Dude, the Bible does not have to say justification is quote, "by faith alone." Stop being dishonest with yourself and God. Faith alone is what Eph 2:8-9 is describing. IT IS BY FAITH YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, NOT OF YOURSELF, NOT OF WORKS. What part of that don't you understand? God's Word says this in black & white and you still don't get it. FAITH ALONE is all that is required which comes from God as a GIFT! Besides his faith, what works did the thief on the cross have before he died??

  • @21May2011KABOOM Yes the bible does have to say "by faith alone" if you believe sola scriptura, that the bible is the only source of infallible truth about faith. If not, then you must believe what catholics believe, that there are other sources of infallible truth about God and faith. Which is it?

  • @xxzzxx99 -The problem with you, is you don't take the whole counsel of God, thus turning a verse of scripture into an entire doctrine. "For we maintain that a MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY FAITH APART from works of the Law...what then shall we say that Abraham our forefather according to the flesh, has found? For IF Abraham was justified by works, he has reason to boast, but NOT before God. For what does the Scripture say? “And Abraham BELIEVED God and it was credited him as righteous”(Rom 3:28, 4:1–3).

  • Respond to this video... Actually James says the opposite of what you said about Abraham and justification. JAmes 2-21asks "was not our ancestor abraham justified by works? JAmes then answers the question at 2-24: YOU SEE THAT A PERSON IS JUSTIFIED BY WORKS AND NOT BY FAITH ALONE.

  • @xxzzxx99- I already discussed Faith vs. Works and how they're UNITED IN TRUTH. You on the other hand still totally disregard Eph 2:8-9. The theif on the cross is the best example that has been discussed here, and I'm not going to repeat it. You do NOT yet comprehend the difference between Works, Faith and Justification. Eph 2:8-9 is very clear that a person's WORKS DO NOT SAVE THEM, THEIR FAITH DOES. James 2:24 describes AN ALREADY SAVED MAN PROVEN TO BE JUSTIFIED BY GOD by his works of faith.

  • How does the word let us know we love him? John 14:15 John 14:21 John 14:23 John 15:10 John 2:3 John 1:6 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Ezekiel 36:27 those laws no longer condemned us but have become promises to us. What I get from him is obedience is reciprocated from grace.

  • salvation is not faith plus works. It graces trough faith plus nothing. Works are not quintessential unto salvation, yet there are an attribute of the acceptance of grace. The scriptures are clear, for the law saved no one. My faith is not what I believe it’s what I do with what I believe. The carnal mind hates the most high and it cannot submit to his laws. We, who are in repentance, have a changed mind that loves the most high.

  • @nomyaw - Excellent post! The Law (WORKS) could NEVER save anyone and was NEVER intended to. WORKS DON'T SAVE. The Law was instituted by God to REVEAL His standard of righteousness & REVEAL that MAN NEEDS A SAVIOR, because JESUS CHRIST (GOD) is the ONLY ONE who perfectly obeys God, AND IS therefore the fulfillment of the LAW. Jesus Christ met ALL of God's expectations for man, and when one believes in Christ, they are imparted with His righteousness. Why people struggle with this is incredible.

  • Amen.

I pray that God's people will have living faith and not dead faith.

We should not count in our works but our faith should compel us to want to live holy lives. Paul Washer can be harsh but he speaks truth.

You can't serve God and at the same time continue to sin and act in a way that you know God says is wrong.

  • When we listen to little clips of someone's sermon, you only get a bit of it, so before we formulate our opinions on someone's theology we need to see what they are saying in context. This guy seems to get a bad rap since the tough part of his sermons make it on you tube, but not the compassionate bits.

  • Keep and mind: Paul Washer is hardly quoting any scriptures at all. Paul Washer is not the Pope. We need to be Berans and verify that "these things are true".

  • i agree 100%...although Paul Washer has come off as being a bit condemning...this video however is ON POINT!!!!

  • I might say that Calvinists distinguish OSAS from the eternal security of the Perseverance Of The Saints (the P in TULIP). The difference being that when God saves a person He creates in that person an ambition for good works to such an extent that the true believer has at least 3000% more works (30 fold - Parable of the Sower) than a false- convert.

  • Who HATH SAVED US, and CALLED US with an HOLY CALLING, not according to our works, but according to HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE, which was GIVEN US in CHRIST JESUS BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN. 2 Timothy 1:9

  • @THOUARTAMAZINGGOD Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Once Saved Always Saved, Once Saved Always Saved!

I'm making fun of you and your god like Elijah made fun of the hypocrites. What do you think about them apples?

You're a dumb-dumb head if you don't even have the fear of God in you.

Christ Jesus bless you & good bye, I'm done w/ this thread.

    John

  • You know how you can tell what's an idol in someone's heart?

If I say, "There's no such thing as OSAS." and you get angry... that's an idol.

    Christ Jesus bless you.

  • You can't make an idol out of a gift from God.

Eternal Security is a fact, not an idol, it's given to believers by God.

That's like saying that salvation is an idol, if we don't like it when someone say's there is no such thing as salvation.

Are you saved, do you believe that Christ Jesus suffered, bled and died on the cross for your sins and that He obtained salvation for your soul?

I hope you are not trusting in works to keep what you couldn't gain in the first place my friend!

  • @THOUARTAMAZINGGOD

Eternal Security is NOT a fact.

Adam was NOT eternally secure when he got kicked out of paradise.

King Saul was NOT eternally secure when God became His enemy AFTER he heard his voice and followed (John 10:27).

King David was NOT eternally secure when he was in adultery & murder.

"That's the OT, not the NT. The NT God now has grace!"

Oh really? I thought God does not change:

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, yea and for ever.

  • You know what's the most sad part about those who ABIDE in Christ?

The minute we go against OSAS people automatically assume that we believe in a WORKS salvation gospel.

    DUMB, JUST DUMB.

    Christ Jesus bless you.

  • @THOUARTAMAZINGGOD

I'm OSAS right? So that means I can do works now, right? So that means that I can clown on the OSAS gospel and still be saved, right?

Brother, watch my testimony. OSAS is a LIE and even if it isn't I'm going to laugh at you and all the believers of it until I die. Why? Because I'm OSAS.

    Does that make any sense?

"Of course it does, you're always saved brother so you can make fun of us all you want!"

    That's right, AND I WILL! ;)

    Christ Jesus bless you.

  • @THOUARTAMAZINGGOD -Excellent post and GOOD ADVICE! I hope he/she "heard" (comprehended) what you said, which is by the Spirit of God.

  • @THOUARTAMAZINGGOD-Excellent post! One of the BEST EVER on this important topic! Here's a great parallel scripture to your post > My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I GIVE THEM ETERNAL LIFE; they will NEVER come to destruction and NO ONE will EVER take them out of my hand. (John 10:27-28). Jesus says it all! NO man EVER did anything to deserve, merit, or earn the GIFT of salvation, and in like manner, MAN will NEVER be able to do anything whatsoever to maintain it.

  • @JesusPaid4You

Brother, plz take a look at my profile and judge my fruit.

    Christ Jesus bless you.

  • Looking at one's profile does not show fruit. It doesn't prove whether one exibits love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentlesness, faithfulness or self control in their life.

  • @thetrollbouncerx Please watch my testimony and my video entitled "Are you saved." and judge my words (fruit) then.

    Christ Jesus bless you.

  • Sorry, but I do not believe in 'Once Saved Always Saved.'

Adam in the garden did not believe in it when he was kicked out of paradise.

King Saul did not believe in it when he turned his back on God and God HATED him.

King David did not believe in it when he was in adultery & murder.

I believe that every believer can get to a point of not stumbling in sin anymore... going and sinning no more. THAT is the power of the cross of Christ crucified.

    Christ Jesus bless you.
