The 3 "barrels" you refer to are just ammo holders; the gun is loaded through the cam-lock coupling at the breech.

easy i have shot (at point blank) a core of potato through steel (bottom of a 20ltr veggie oil drum) thats a pnumatic cannon at 150psi and 1" dia 8' long barrel though, but it went trough like butter

interior house doors are made of two sheets of luahn and corrugated cardboard. try going through a solid core door. with the right ammo, it probably could.

You'll have to build it from standard plumbing fittings. Take a look at the stills in the video to get an idea of the parts you need. I believe this one cost around $30, including the propane tank. It's been 2 years since I built the launcher, so I'm not sure what the exact price was.

Not much difference, the deceleration of the projectile by air drag forces is not significant at the distance I was firing from.

I have built 7 combustion cannons,5 pneumatics,4 hybrid cannons, and I have 9 videos of them. I was a top candidate for a moderator position on SF, and I have a stickied thread in the hybrid section of the forum. I created the air through meter fueling method for hybrid cannons, and I was the first to build a pure oxygen/propane hybrid launcher using conventional parts. I am known among the more experienced members as someone with a vast knowledge of the hobby. If you don't believe me, ask them.

In a launcher with an oversized chamber a burst disk does help. However, since my barrel is roughly optimized to transfer all of the available energy to the projectile, the average pressure in the barrel is going to be about the same regardless of whether or not I use a disk. On a pressure/projectile position graph, the burst disk shot's curve would spike rapidly, then fall below the standard shot's curve, then equalize near the end. In the end the area under both curves would be equal.

Burst disks only help when the chamber is grossly oversized. I have done extensive modeling both theoretically and in practice, and I can assure you that the pressure in the launcher when the projectile reaches the end of the barrel is very close to the force of dynamic friction divided by the cross sectional area of the barrel, so a burst disk would not help at all.
