When I saw your comments about this list, I wasn't expecting it to be THIS bad. Dr Ed? really? Not Purple Tentacle, or Bernard, or Weird Ed? Even the hamster would make more sense. This is why I quit paying attention to lists like this. Taste is subjective but it seems weird to leave out some noteworthy characters in favor of randoms. No Wesker? No Jill? No Chris? No King's Quest characters? No Atrus? No Edward CARNBY? No NESS?
As usual, I find the idea of you being a misogynist laughable. :P
What you are refering to as an intellectual decline is, not as much of a decline as an imposed halt of the "Flynn effect" (Wikipedia it). People are not getting dumber, albeit they are not getting smarter either, the reason that games recently have been adapted for people with an average/sub-average IQ, is due to gaming opening up as a mass activity, instead of beeing the past time of programmers and tech geeks.
Elanarae, let me just say first and foremost that I love your LP's and commentary. Your videos are a real pleasure to listen to and watch. Thank you =)
But...it seems to me and, correct me if I'm wrong, but your views on SWTOR feel way too biased. I can't shake the feeling that, having invested presumably years into WoW (and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with WoW--I've never played it so I can't judge) you're loyalty and love for the game play too much into your scathing verdict.
@JankyToe The main Problem with SWTOR is that I knew I would not like it based on the fact that I don´t like the dialogue system or dialogue heavy RPGs.
I played alot of MMO´s besides WoW and everytime I started one I was like "OMG I LIKE THIS, THIS PART IS BETTER THAN WOW AND THAT PART IS BETTER AND OMG OMG OMG" but after the trial month I usually went back to WoW but still held these games in good memories (EQ2, LOTRO and Allods for example) which ... isn´t the case with SWTOR xD
@JankyToe So far I just don´t see the MMO part in this game, I might even like it as a Single Player RPG but I wouldn´t pay 13 bucks a month to play Baldurs Gate or something like that xD
@Elanarae I´m sure you´ll ask why I bought the game in the first place .... Peer Pressure, everyone in my WoW guild wanted to try it out and I didn´t want to feel "left out" 8 started it, 7 didn´t bother with the trial month and went back to WoW ... sadly our Main Tank stuck with it xD
Open PVP can be great .... ever played dark age of camelot? RvR was the most intresting part of it and it was ALL open world :P... and there before WoW.... and actually I play Imperial and I feel like the Jedi are overpowered where I am.... at Ilum and in Warzones
@NostalgiaLP I played on Jar'Kai Sword which was REALLY Imp heavy so Huttball was the one I played like 99% of the time. Got once into Alderaan but somehow the "force field" at the beginning bugged and I couldn´t leave and then was kicked by the afk timer ... good times ...
@NostalgiaLP I don´t know how the players were split over the three factions in DaoC but imagine if one side were really dominating like ... 3 times as many, it wouldn´t be fun.
Open PvP Zones CAN work but I prefer Battle Grounds at least I can be sure that the numbers will be almost equal xD
@Elanarae Well on my DAoC server there infact were at least twice as many players in albion than everywhere else... buuut :P.... it was still fun, we beat them with skill :P
I was soooooo disappointed by that list :/ where are the guys like Raziel/Kain, Caleb (u gotta love the morbid humor with this guy :D), Vault Dweller instead of Pip Boy, Altair/Ezio, Morte instead of Nameless One, Riddick, JC Denton or even the fakkin Pikachu :/ Fukk that! I can see the conspiracy here: This whole list was made entirely for pissing off the gamers :/ Dun dun dunnnnnn
@abstolon Well I can understand the absence of Riddick and Pikachu since they started as Video Game Characters, but yeah ... Altair kinda made a name for himself, same as Raziel ... but yeah, I got "angry" with that list, made a video about it, linked to the site and now they got "promotion" xP
(And don´t take the Angry part too seriously, I mostly just want to entertain ^.^)
Aw man, Killer7. Bought it at EB games for 99 cents, gamecube game sale. Best buy of all time. Harman Smith may not be as well known as Donkey Kong, but he certainly deserves a place on that list.
Dude, and speaking of RE games, NO BARRY??? COME ON LIST MAKERS.

...And no TEX MURPHY?!
Sorry for a second comment but I just realized how horrible it is to leave that character out, and I'd run out of text.
Seriously, that list...that list is horrible. JUST MY OPINION OF COURSE, but I'm glad I'm not alone in it now that I've heard your views too. xD

No J.C Denton in this list? What a shame!

I didn't even reached level 50 in SWTOR, because it is so booooring! The story is neat, but the questdesign is horrible.
Totally see your point the Indie scene is much more interessting these days, while AAA titles milk their IPs to death.

What about Edward Carnby, and poor Julian from Feary Tale Adventure.

Max Payne is clearly missing in this list... and they could have shown a little more love for Sega, with Alex Kidd for example =)

This is why I don't like lists. There is always some part of it that will make you mad. And to be honest, i think Zhangeif should have been on there!

Not enough space, grrr >_<
Anyway, I know it's your opinion, and I won't flame you for it. To each their own, even if you may disagree.
Now, stop blathering and start doing some LPs!!! =D
